North Crest RV Park, Waco, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed two nights to see Waco attractions. Mostly long-term guests. Owner friendly and helpful to park. Site is all concrete and back-in but easy to access. Wifi was OK one night and not available next night. No cable TV. No dog park, which is a disappointment. The property is not fenced and right next to access road for I35. Everything is done by the owner and seemed like he just came up with the price for a night so maybe others pay more or less? No site numbers, no site map. Close enough to Magnolia Farms, Dr. Pepper Museum, Spice, and Texas Ranger Museum which we visited the day we were there. Would probably look elsewhere if in the area again. We camped at North Crest RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort RV Park, Laughlin, Nevada

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

How you view this park depends upon your expectations. This is a very large park across from the casino. We have been here several times and enjoy our stay. Lots of things to do in the area and great shopping, plus a shuttle pickup at your site to the casino door.

The cable TV is excellent, great clear picture and lots of channels including ESPN. Wifi is an additional charge ($20 per week) and is spotty at best. Sometimes it worked great and other times not at all. Sites are gravel and full service. As previous reviewer indicated, the sewer is too high and smaller than standard opening. No tables at the sites.

We requested a site near the dog park and were accommodated after considerable effort even though we had a reservation one year in advance. Very quiet and felt safe. Would definitely stay again. Very good value. We camped at Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit Oatman (a great old town on Route 66 with wild burros roaming the streets). Also, visited Chloride which was a short drive and fun old mining town. Lots of shopping and restaurants in Laughlin and on the Bullhead City/Fort Mojave side.

Meteor Crater RV Park, Winslow, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice at check-in although took a bit of time as attendant is also running the gas station. Very narrow access gate area that they opened to let us in. Wide sites with easy hookups. Nice dog park area but very disappointed that it was not lighted at all (we like to be sure that all gates are secured and no issues with fence before allowing our pups to use) so when we arrived at 6:00 pm we had to use our own flashlight and park was rather large. A light would have been awesome. They offer discounts on park entrance and also on gas. We will visit the park tomorrow. Would stay again if in the area. Easy access from freeway. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort RV Park, Laughlin, Nevada

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Great location and EZ access to casino, theater, and restaurants. Dog park in disrepair so a bit disappointing. Pull-thru sites are kind of odd in that you really pull past another RV on the other side and in our case, they had to move their patio chairs for us to access. No free WiFi and the paid did not work really well. All in all, what you should expect in a casino park. We camped at Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Vines RV Resort, Paso Robles, California

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice and well-kept campground. No escort to site and some back-ins are very difficult to access. NO ESPN which is an issue for the New Years' bowl games. Not really acceptable for $70 per night. Other than that, very nice and would stay again. Disappointed about the lack of ESPN on their system. Some freeway noise, but no really an issue. We camped at Vines RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Double J Campground and RV Park, Chatham, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Easy check-in, but not extremely friendly. Escort was very nice and very friendly. Decent sized sites with no patios, but picnic table and truck rim fire ring. Freeway close but not obtrusive. No fenced dog walk area which is a definite negative for us. Pool looked nice and clean, mini golf needs work, store not displayed really well to capitalize on the Route 66 opportunity. Did have area with bags and disposal for pets. Would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
