Silver Cove Resort, Silverlake, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We spent 4 nights at Silver Cove. We were vacationing with our 2 daughters and their families and rented 2 RV sites and a loft cabin, all right together. Perfect setup for a little family reunion. This place is perfect, well laid out with plenty of green space behind the sites. There are waterways that wind through the park right behind some of the sites, and they connect with the lake. You can rent kayaks, pedal boats and stand-up paddle boards. We visited the Johnston Ridge Observatory at Mt. St. Helens, about a 43 mile drive from the park. Admission to the observatory is $8.00, unless you have a Senior National Park pass, then it's free for up to 4 people. It's well worth the drive, great visitor center with an awesome movie about the eruption. We liked everything about this park. It's clean and well-maintained. The staff and management are very friendly and accommodating. We'd definitely stay here again. We camped at Silver Cove Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We did the Ziplining at Treehouse Island, it's just half a mile down the road at Streeter's RV Park. It's about a 15 min boat ride out to the island then a 2.5 hour ziplining adventure. Our whole group, six of us ages 12-70, had a great time

Tamarack RV Park, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

I would have given this park a higher rating, BUT, the pull-through site we got was impossible to turn in to due to the large trees. Fortunately, our neighbor across the drive pulled their truck out so we could back into their site and then make the turn into our site. Took about half hour to get positioned. Other than that. The park does have a nice woodsy appearance. There are some permanent residents (as in nearly every private RV park today), but they were well-kept. I don't think we'd return due to the tight maneuvering needed to get into the sites. We camped at Tamarack RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a great find, only $20 PA rate. Very clean up-to-date park with nice paved pull-thru's. The check-in was very friendly and efficient. Excellent utilities. Easy in & out. We'd definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Southern Hills RV Park and Campground, Hermosa, South Dakota

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

This is the perfect park for our needs. Nice long gravel pull throughs, 50-amp full-hookups. The PA rate is good for 3 nights, great value. The owners are very helpful and friendly. The park is very open and spacious. The roads are easy to navigate. This is a good base for exploring the Black Hills and Mt. Rushmore. We camped at Southern Hills RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a good base for exploring the southern Black HIlls, about 30 min to Mt Rushmore or the Wildlife Loop. No grocery shopping nearby except for Pop's Grocery Shoppe on Main St. Looks like it would be OK in a pinch. There's a Flying J about 1/4 mi away; gas prices are OK. If you need propane you can leave your empty tank at Nelson's, right behind Flying J, call the toll free number, and they will fill the bottle and call you when ready to pick up. It was $25 to fill a 30# tank.

Sleepy Hollow RV Park, Wall, South Dakota

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very good park with all pull-throughs. Everything worked well. Long enough gravel sites. Cable TV was available for a small extra charge. It's an easy walk to the main street of Wall and Wall Drug. Lots of souvenier and T-shirt shops if you like that kind of thing. It's a good base for exploring the Badlands. This is our second time staying here, and would probably stay here again if in the area. We camped at Sleepy Hollow RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The Landing Point RV Park, Cape Girardeau, Missouri

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

The park was fine for our needs. The utilities worked well, but it was kind of a long stretch to the sewer hookup, all the way at the back of the site. It's a bit of a drive into town and down to the old town area. There's another park closer into town, Cape Camping and RV Park, which looks like it is right on the Cape LaCroix Bike trail, a nice paved 5.6 mile trail that goes into the middle of town. We might choose that one if we're in the area again. We camped at The Landing Point RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Hermann City Park Campground, Hermann, Missouri

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Great little park. They have mostly back-ins, but 3 of the 18 sites in the main park are pull through's. The utilities are well-placed and worked well. There is an additional RV parking area just across the park with full hookups, all paved back-ins. These are sites 19-43. We enjoyed our stay here. There is no Verizon internet in Hermann, but they tell me that ATT works well. Our Verizon cellphone worked OK. We got just one primary OTA channel. It's an easy 10-min walk to the public library, open at 9:00. They have open wifi there. We'd definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Hermann City Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Hermann is a very cool little town. Lots of restored 1800's buildings. Lots of shops & restaurants. There's Stone Hill winery close to the park, but a steep climb. They have an authentic German restaurant, "Vintage". We didn't try it but we heard it's the best restaurant in town if you like German food. It's an easy walk into and around town. Nice waterfront area along the Missouri River. Amtrak goes right through town. 2 trains a day to either St. Louis or Kansas City.

Graceland RV Park & Campground, Memphis, Tennessee

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This is the perfect location if you want to see the Graceland Mansion and museums. It's an easy walk over to Graceland. You can get one ticket to tour the car museum, Elvis Presley Experience, the Graceland and Elvis's 2 planes. From the Museum complex, they bus you over to Graceland Mansion where can do an audio tour and pretty much spend all the time you want. We enjoyed the RV park. We had an end site, other wise the spacing would have been a little close. We camped at Graceland RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Gunter Hill COE, Montgomery, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

We chose this park as a base to tour the historic sites in Montgomery. It's about a 10 mi drive to the downtown area. We stayed on the Antioch Loop which is the older of the 2 loops. There are no sewer hookups and no pull-thru's on this loop, But it is a nice camping area. We had a back-in site overlooking the water. The sites are nice and long and well-spaced. They have a nice fire pit, BBQ, picnic table and lantern hook. We drove through the newer Catoma Loop, much nicer. Nice concrete pads, full hookups and some pull-throughs. We would stay here again, but we'd try to book early enough to get on the Catoma loop We camped at Gunter Hill COE in a Fifth Wheel.

If you want to tour the historic sites in Montgomery, you can drive down to the Convention & Visitors Bureau, which is an old railroad station. They have a free 30 min movie. They also have several free parking spots, and they'll give you a free parking pass for one of the 6 on-street parking spots right in front of the Capitol building. From there it's an easy walk to most of the sites.

Golden Isles Vacation Park, Brunswick, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here as a base for touring Jekyll Island and St. Simons Island. We ended up staying here for 5 nights. The price reflects the PA rate for the first 3 nights with 50 amp. The last 2 nights were at the regular rate of $37.50. This was an OK park. the sites are a little close. They are mostly pull through. Plenty long for our 35' fifth wheel and truck. The park is well located for visiting the islands. There's a Winn-Dixie market just down the street, but it's a bit of a drive for any other shopping. We would probably stay here again if in the area. We camped at Golden Isles Vacation Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Montgomery South RV Park, Hope Hull, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 3 nights. It's not that close to Montgomery, about a 17 mile drive, so no stores or restaurants nearby. That was fine with us. The park is well laid-out with nice long, roomy pull throughs. The utilities are well placed and easy to use. We got 8-10 OTA TV channels, and the Verizon signal was good. The park is fairly close to I-65 so there's a little freeway noise, but it wasn't an issue for us. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a good supply of brochures in the office for local and nearby attractions. We visited Selma and the Lowndes County Interpretive center along the Selma to Montgomery National Trail. Both worth the drive. About 55 mi. We camped at Montgomery South RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We chose this park as a base to tour Charleston. It's conveniently located, about 11 miles from the historic downtown area. It's a very nicely laid out park. There are lots of trees, but it has a very open feel. The pull through sites are long and spacious. Many sites have shrubs between them. We'd definitely stay here again if in the area. Lake Park Campground, Lake Park, Georgia

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This park had just been taken over by a new owner. He is keeping the price at $25/night with no up-charges and should be maintaining the Good Sam discount. This is a beautiful park, lots of live oak trees with Spanish Moss. There's a nice lake, but not for swimming. They have mostly pull throughs, plenty long for our 35ft 5th wheel and truck. The hookups are well placed and in good shape, except for cable; we couldn't get that to work. There is very limited OTA TV, but Verizon worked well. Some freeway noise, but not objectionable for us. Camping World store is handy, and easy bike ride or walk. We camped at Lake Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The RV Roundup, Montgomery, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This is a fairly new park. The management likes to cater to longer term residents, but we had no problem getting a nice pull-through for a week. The price reflects the weekly rate of $160. The manager and helper were very helpful in getting us set up and hooked up. They provided concrete pads to keep our tires out of the dirt. The sites were gravel/dirt, very level. There was one very tight turn between a couple of trees near the back of the park. You might want to check that out to make sure that your rig will clear. Although we made it OK, and there were several long motorhomes in the park. The utilities were new and well-placed.. No complaints about this park. We'd stay here again.
