Date of Stay:

Paved roads and lots of Oak and Maple shade. Friendly park for family weekend getaway. Separate game rooms for the kids (arcades and billiards), and adults (WIFI, cards, and social). Never before had to pay for a fire pit at a KOA and saw no special events posted for holiday weekend guests. Rather the activities director had planned things in the middle of the week more suitable for the seasonal guests. We stayed here in a class B in late Dec '05 and would stay again. It's a KOA! We've never had a bad experience with KOA.

Date of Stay:

We've been coming to this site since the 1960's and it will always be a fish camp to us. It has been well maintained with each new owner but not without progress and higher prices. 10:00 a.m. check out seemed a bit early too. There are now many permanent residents in newer modular homes being built thus pushing out the long time seasonal visitors. I missed them hanging out in the bait house with their great stories to tell and poking fun at each other. As the bait house was empty I guess all that experience is passed on now. Fishing is the main stay here and it's a friendly fishing spot to launch your boat and clean your catch. But the cost to camp here is the same whether you have a boat to launch or fish from the bank. Hmmmm. Oh there's a few grand kids here that come to visit Grandma's house and have fun but I think it's more for a ride in Grandpa's boat and not for the shuffle board. Since it's one of the few spots to access Lake Marian I'll be back I'm sure.
