Hon-Dah Casino RV Park, Pinetop, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park is wonderful! We spent 6 weeks here enjoying the area, the weather and the neighbors! Yes the interior roads have some pot holes, and yes it is confusing trying to find your site. I would recommend that each guest be escorted to their site. But it was delightful staying here. It has to be the most peaceful RV park anywhere! We loved watching the beautiful squirrels that inhabit this pine forest area. A neighbor had a peanut feeder hanging from a tree so we saw them frequently! Also lots of beautiful birds. There is a great laundry room at the office building, inexpensive and kept very clean. Lots are spacious and some are shady. Site surface is a concrete pad and the lot includes a fire ring, picnic table and patio.

We will definitely be coming back again. We camped at Hon-Dah Casino RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If you like to gamble the Casino is right across the road. There is also a nice restaurant at the casino and it has an outside entrance so you don't have to walk through the cigarette smoke of the casino! If you sign up for the casino card you are given credit on it to be used in the slots or at the restaurant! We used ours for the buffet. This buffet isn't the biggest we have been to but had a nice choice of dishes including some great roast beef and crab legs. And for you chocolate lovers the brownies are to die for! Trust me on that one!

Bonito Campground (USFS), Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We spent 4 night here so that we could camp with our adult children and granddaughter. We chose it because of nearby national monument attractions and also because it was a beautiful location. Our only complaint was the lousy installation of the picnic table! It was on a slight downhill grade and they didn't level it properly! Not a huge deal, just aggravating. As others have stated there wasn't any cell phone coverage which was nice for all of us to be unplugged for the week end. We all had a great time and would definitely stay here again. We had to pay extra for our visitors vehicles! We camped at Bonito Campground (USFS) in a Fifth Wheel.

Verde Valley RV & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails), Cottonwood, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Though we do not have a 1000 Trails membership, we have stayed at a few through our RPI membership and have to say that this park was better than the others. It appeared to be well maintained, at least the grass was mowed and trimmed. But what I could not understand was why so many utility posts were out of order! The only benefit to us was that we did not have a neighbor on our door side! We were able to park our truck near our door, which was convenient, and still were on our site. We had a neighbor on the other side for a long weekend and when they had guests they had the guest park on our site, but they neglected to ask if that was alright with us! Nervy but we didn't say anything since we weren't using that space.

Since the campground area is in a valley we had NO Verizon signal. Every day we had to go over to the clubhouse and try and get on the parks wifi. It was very weak so it was less than satisfactory. We spent a week here and if the wifi were better we would come back, otherwise no! We camped at Verde Valley RV & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Fifth Wheel.

Page Springs Park, Cornville, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This could be a great park it certain things were addressed. First off the spacing of sites. You are right on top of your neighbor and their sewer hookup is right by your door! Also not enough space to park your vehicle. Someone across the road was getting ready to pull out and they had to ask several units across from him if they could move their trucks! Had to park our truck across the front of our space, which put us right on the edge of the road!

The park is at the bottom of a rather steep driveway which is hard to turn onto from the highway. Also that highway causes a lot of noise! At the lowest level of the park is a creek which had recently flooded due to the rains. So there were several sites that were not in use when we were here. Due to being at the bottom of that little valley there was NO Verizon signal! So no data to our hot spot. It was a long week! We were able to get a signal to the Direct TV dish! We will never stay here again. We camped at Page Springs Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Blue Spruce RV Park, Grants, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

We would not stay here again. It is old and most of the units are permanent residents with run down, old, dumpy trailers. The one next to us was being held together with tarps, cardboard and duct tape! The only reason we stayed here was to see the Acoma Pueblo and it was cheap! We camped at Blue Spruce RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sierra Hermosa RV Park, Questa, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Really enjoyed our stay at Sierra Hermosa. It's a small park with plans to enlarge in the future. Met the owner who lives up the hill from the park. He is very involved in his community and told us about the restoration of the local Catholic church which is open to tour during daylight hours. The staff in the office very friendly and helpful. Easy access to Taos and the Enchanted Circle. We visited both and especially enjoyed the Taos Pueblo. We loved our stay here because they are high enough that the weather was cool and delightful! Yes the sites are close together but everyone was so friendly that it didn't matter at all! We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Sierra Hermosa RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cochiti Lake COE , Pena Blanca, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful site for this COE park and the campground is nicely laid out. Our site was almost completely level. Unfortunately the hosts should be fired! First off they were rarely in the entrance booth! How do you get checked in, how do you get a map to find your site! You can't so you drive around hoping to find it! When we finally located them they were so surly. I guess they were insulted that we expected them to do their job! And to top it off when we visited the dump station someone made a horrid mess and it hadn't been cleaned up, so when we arrived there were bits of toilet paper all over the asphalt! The other contents of the mess may have been hosed down the drain but the mess that was left stunk to high heaven! We will never return here! We camped at Cochiti Lake COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Walnut RV Park, Vega, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Once you leave Amarillo there isn't much out in the panhandle of Texas. But in Vega there is a nice little rv park run by the friendliest old fella. We have enjoyed our stay here and if in the area in the future we will definitely stay here again. There's not much in Vega but there is a great Mexican restaurant right across the street from the park. It's called Roosters and their crispy relleno is delicious. We camped at Walnut RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lewisville Lake Park Campground, Lewisville, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park on the shore of Lake Lewisville. Office staff very efficient and friendly. Had made a reservation and everything was ready for us when we arrived. Though the site wasn't huge it was more than big enough to put out our slides and awning. We had a nice lake view. We would stay here again. Only objections is that we could not reserve a 50 amp site because we have just one A/C unit! that is a city rule! We camped at Lewisville Lake Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lakeridge RV Park, Gun Barrel City, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

spent one night at this park. Had made a reservation and when we arrived Diana came out of her office to greet us. She was very friendly and helpful. The park is beautifully maintained, all the grassy areas were recently mowed (even though they have had a lot of rain in the last few weeks) and nicely trimmed along all the cement areas and flower beds. The flower beds were also well maintained. We had a pull through which exited through the rear of the park. Easy in and out. We would definitely stay here again. Though close to the main road in Gun Barrel the road noise was minimal. We camped at Lakeridge RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Magnolia Ridge COE, Woodville, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

We spent Memorial Day Weekend at this park. It was very quiet and peaceful. Well cared for park, in fact much better than some other COE parks we have stayed at. No litter, fire pits clean, grass mowed. Host/gate attendant was very pleasant and seemed to be very interested that we have a nice time in her park! We will definitely stay here again if in the area on a holiday week end. We camped at Magnolia Ridge COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Twin Dikes Park Campground, Brookeland, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this COE park many times in the past six years and it is one of our favorites. BUT this is the first time we have been very unhappy with the performance of the paid attendants. They are supposed to check on the park and they never do! This past week end we had several dogs running loose though the rules clearly state on a 6 foot leash and no longer! Also one of the camper must have thought that we wanted to hear their music so they had it up loud enough that we could hear it inside our rig, with our windows and door closed with the A/C running! Also the dog owners never picked up after their dogs nor removed their trash from their site, plus the paid park maintenance person hasn't cleaned up the sites. Everyone left on Sunday and this is Tuesday and nothing has been done! Not sure we will stay here again. We camped at Twin Dikes Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Childress City Fair Park, Childress, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Nice little city park with 4 or 5 sites on a first come first serve basis. Cannot make reservations. Self pay, make out a check and stick it in the metal box. We were only campers there. Right beside the rv spaces are the baseball diamonds. They had a game that night and so glad we didn't have an emergency because cars would have blocked us from being able to leave the park! But the park is pretty, they have a duck pond with a paved walk way around it just down the hill from the rv sites. We would definitely stay here again! We camped at Childress City Fair Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lazy Days RV Park, Bowie, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This was just an overnight stay. Not much better than a Walmart parking but it was quiet. It is a funky, small, rundown place with mostly permanent residents. The lady managing the office was very nice. Greeted us as we arrived and said pick a spot then just come up to the office to register. Doubt that we would stay here again unless just for overnight.
