Ocean Bay Mobile & RV Park, Ocean Park, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We rarely, if ever, give a perfect score but I just had to give this park 10 stars. We are here because good friends are staying here and we wanted to come and see the kite festival. At first glimpse I wasn't impressed but then we received a royal welcome from the owners and their dog. We felt that we were long lost friends. The site they helped us into backed up to their house (I teased them that they were going to be keeping a close eye on us) and I was so happy becausetheir gardens were in full bloom and I have enjoyed it everyday. They have nicely maintained out buildings, a small rec room with a big table for cards, a large kitchen, a clam and oyster cleaning room and the restroom/shower buildings. All look like they are brand new and freshly painted but they have all been here for a few years. Anyone who has spent time in the Pacific Northwest knows what a job it is to keep building looking good. The salt air and the moss and mold are a huge challenge. Most of the sites in the park are gravel and grass but ours is all grass. Can't say enough about this park It's not fancy but very nice and they have great utilities! We will definitely be here again. Our rate reflects a two week stay. We camped at Ocean Bay Mobile & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sunrise Resorts-Copalis Beach Park, Copalis Beach, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this park a couple of times now. It is part of our Sunrise Resorts membership. We had a nice wide site with great 50 amp electric and strong water pressure. The check in people are very nice and efficient. We did not use our awning due to winds but that is expected at the beach. During the week it wasn't too crowded but come Thursday they really flooded in but the campers were all quiet as soon as 10pm rolled around. Nice walk to the beach, but like most of the west coast of Washington, it's nothing to brag about! Just a beach, no (hay)stacks to make it interesting! The park has a laundry room, 3 washers and 3 dryers. $1.75 to wash and $1.75 for 60 minutes for the dryer! The laundry is in a rec building but not much goes on. There is a puzzle to work on and the TV is always on. There is also a pool table but no balls! Perhaps you have to check them out from the attendant. The problem with this rec building is the mold smell. It was pretty overwhelming. The roof is in bad shape so they probably have lots of leaking in the rainy months. There is another large building that is in even worse shape. They used to have dances and breakfast there but it is locked up and the wood shake roof is rotting away. I don't know why the owner of Sunrise Resorts doesn't take care of her properties! I doubt that she puts any money in this property unless it's an emergency. Piss pour management/ownership skills. I guess new cars and nice houses to live in are more important! We camped at Sunrise Resorts-Copalis Beach Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Thousand Trails-Long Beach, Seaview, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This 1000 Trails park is better than some we have visited which isn't saying much! The hooks up are awful! All even numbered spots have the water and sewer on the drivers side and electric on door side which is OK but odd numbered sites have the sewer and water on the door side! YUCK! When we arrived on a Sunday early afternoon there were no even numbered spots and we had to go into town and buy an extra sewer hose! We though we were lucky to get a 50 amp electric hookup but I don't think it was 50 amp because we could not have run A/C and micro at the same time. Thank goodness it was cool and no need for A/C! Be sure you have 3 sewer hoses and a looong power cord. You will need one or the other! This park does not enforce park rules. Barking dogs were the norm and though rules distinctly says no ropes are to be tied to trees we say many clothes lines tied to trees. The unit behind us had towels and clothes tied up all week that we were there. The positive include a nice clean laundry room though only 3 of the four washers worked and four of the six dryers worked. But it was never busy when we used it so we were able to get our laundry done. The roads are dirt and gravel and the sites were mostly dirt with some dying grass. Glad it didn't rain while we were there because it would have been a mud wallow! On the park map they have a walking system that is paced out for 1 3/4 mile walk which includes a lovely walk to the beach. If this park would enforce the dogs barking rule this would be an OK spot to stay. Not sure if we would come back to this park since there are so many choices in the area. We are NOT 1000 Trails members. We camped at Thousand Trails-Long Beach in a Fifth Wheel.

Mossyrock Park, Mossyrock, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

I would hazard a guess that the positive reviews were by folks on the individual sites. We were in one of the Group sites G-8. We reserved for Thursday-Sunday. Our first night there was fine but when Friday arrived the hordes arrived and the sites was so crowded it was almost scary to move a vehicle. Two huge groups moved in and they had cars, tents, tables and canopies crammed onto their site. What was meant for maybe six tents and maybe 12 people had easily 50 people! And they partied way past the 10:00pm quiet time. Lots of loud voices, music and drunken pot smokers! And NO ONE enforcing the rules! No rangers coming by and when the sheriff came in he left and did nothing! Found out that this park never enforces the rules and folks know that liquor and drugs are not discouraged. Asked a volunteer to inform the Ranger about the disorderly group but NO ONE did anything about it! The surface of the group area was dirt with some small gravel. It was VERY dusty. We also had people constantly walking through our site! There were no sidewalks available along the main roads. Paths to the lake were not handicap accessible. Our group of 9 adults were very sorry we had booked into this park and will never return again. We camped at Mossyrock Park in a Fifth Wheel.

NOt much to do here except the lake. The water level fluctuates and is kept low due to cracks in the dam!!!! The area around the lake is mucky dirt that smells to high heaven! Not a good place to go swimming! Don't know if Tacoma Power does water quality testing! They are the managers of this lake and the dam.

Lake Mayfield Resort, Mossyrock, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is an absolutely wonderful park! We have had two short stays here this summer. The first was early in the season and the park was almost empty during the week but this last stay it was in full swing and both times it was wonderful! Everyone was having fun but in a respectful manner which is not the case in most parks! The lake is beautiful and the park is neat and clean. The staff is very friendly. The utilities were darn near perfect! Perfect would have been if some fairies came by and emptied the black tank! LOL The electric was a steady 50 amp and water pressure was spot on! We look forward to a return trip! We camped at Lake Mayfield Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Sawyer RV Resort, Black Diamond, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We have been coming to this park for over 8 years and it is our home park for our Sunrise Resorts membership and RPI. Given that you would think we would get good service, right! But sadly no! A new person in the office who claims to have been there for 6 years. Well you would think she could use the computer reservation system! Not! I had called a month in advance and requested a full hook up site which is what we always ask for wherever we go. We arrive and are told our site was water and electric only. I said we requested full hooks She says no you asked for W & E. I told her I never ask for water and electric only. Then she tells me that all she has is a W & E site. Ask when we could be moved and she couldn't promise but said next week. So we are in a very narrow site in the back of the park. Can't get reception on the satellite due to the trees! Not happy campers! The 30 amp service wasn't even marginal. We would be on the edge of the red or into the red on our gauge when A/C was on! If we had any appliance on we would have blown a fuse. The final straw was on the 18th at about 1:00pm and the office person came to the rig and said that we were supposed to out by 11:00AM. We said 'no, our reservation was until the 22nd but she was supposed to find a full hook up site that we had reserved. She acted surprised and we stood our ground. She scurried off to the office and called us with a site we could move to with full hook ups. We hurried and broke camp and set up on the new site in record time since we had to go and pick up our daughter and take her to the airport. Same problems at the new site, poor electric and lousy water pressure. narrow, uneven sites with trash on them and debris from the trees everywhere. No attempt to groom the sites at all! The owners are just a bunch of lazy skinflints trying to make as much money as possible. We are sick of it and will not stay again! We camped at Lake Sawyer RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Evergreen Coho SKP Park - Escapees Park (members only), Chimacum, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We have been staying at this park for about 8 years on our semi annual trips to the Pacific Northwest. At one point we thought very seriously of putting our money down on a lease site but due to some issues we long ago decided this wasn't the place for us! This park has had frequent issues with their sewer system and the end result to fix the issue caused a huge increase in the yearly maintenance fee. Glad we didn't jump that first year. Over the years we have noticed a decline in several areas. First is the friendliness of the park. We no longer try to attend the socials due to this. As a newcomer you are now ignored. Also the WIFI is abysmal! Only time we could access the news feeds on our phone was late at night. Same with other applications we wanted to access like weather etc. We were on a site with just electric and water and the rate was $20 which included the high sales and hotel tax that WA attached to each RV park site. On a high note the laundry is excellent with their sign up sheet, wish all parks used that, and the landscaping is lovely. We enjoyed our walks around the park every day. The facilities manager is very friendly and helpful. But when we drove to the dump station on a Sunday we were surprised that the sewer outlet had a padlock on it! He was able to provide us a key for it. Also when we left on a Friday morning it was locked, so we had to go to the office for the key! What gives!? Never been in any park where the dump was locked! Now the office person is a very frosty person. Not welcoming at all. Found out that she is not an Escapee member, just an employee. Also office is closed on Saturday and Sunday! I guess the board has forgotten all the times they moved on Sunday! All in all do not feel that this park in any way exemplifies the spirit of Escapees. By the way, We Won't Be Back!!! We camped at Evergreen Coho SKP Park - Escapees Park (members only) in a Fifth Wheel.

Thousand Trails - Whalers Rest RV Park, South Beach, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Very disappointed in this park. Sites are narrow and crowded by trees and shrubs on three sides. Lots of pruning needs to be done. There are a lot of trees that should be cut down because they are a lot that are dead or dying! Need to do this before there is a tragedy! Also the roads are dirt with some stones that are smashed down in the dirt. This makes for a very dust place when dry and a mud bog when wet. It was dry while we were there and we didn't grill outside due to the dust that billowed up and engulfed our site! The roads are also filled with potholes. Since the road is one way only we had to drive the entire rutted park to exit! We will not be staying here again. We camped at Thousand Trails - Whalers Rest RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Dow Creek Resort, Hoodsport, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this campground. It felt like we were staying in the rain forest of Olympic National Park! Of course that is not too far away so the description is appropriate! Definitely in the forest! Lots of tall pine and fir trees covered with moss. But the developers of this park did a fantastic job of incorporating large RV sites but keeping as many trees as possible along with shrubs along the roads and between the sites. It is beautiful! Not far from beautiful Lake Cushman and passes can be obtained for day use for a small fee. You could launch a boat, kayak, paddleboard or in warmer weather go for a swim. Hoodsport is a small town with a couple of restaurants and some shops. There is a small grocery store there too but if you want a larger store a Walmart, Safeway and Fred Myers are in Shelton just 20 miles away. Also more restaurant choices. We really enjoyed our stay here and will return. Only negative was the Verizon signal is only 2 bars and we couldn't use our satellite for TV. A few channels were available over the air but it was so peaceful we really enjoyed not having TV. There are also a few nature trails for hiking and the roads are paved and great for walking. We will return. We stayed here using our Sunrise Resorts membership. We camped at Dow Creek Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Travel Inn Resort, Elma, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this park. The last time was three years ago and, since that time, the condition of this park has really gone downhill. The buildings are in need of paint, walk ways are not swept after mowing so dried grass is everywhere. The sites are not being mown as they should be. I mentioned this to one of the hosts and he said that the rain has prevented the mowing. We were there for a week without any rain and no mowing was being done. In the laundry room half of the washing machines were out of order. The biggest complaint we had was about the folks in the office. So disorganized, couldn't find our reservation which I had made a month before. Then they said they hadn't read their morning email and that is where they found it! Then they didn't give me a receipt, a parking hang tag, a map brochure or schedule of events! KM properties needs to do a surprise visit at this place and start cracking some whips to get it back in shape. We on the other hand will cross this place off our list! Another problem was the tax and extras. They applied $23 on a $70 fee!!! We camped at Travel Inn Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

No great shakes as a campground, after all it's basically just a large gravel parking lot with hook ups. But the view of Nehalem Bay is worth more than the fee we paid. Since we are elevated above the dock area we had a great vista. Plus its not too far from Seaside and Cannon Beach for things to do and restaurants. If in to crabbing the dock is set up for that. Hon-Dah Casino RV Park, Pinetop, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park is wonderful! We spent 6 weeks here enjoying the area, the weather and the neighbors! Yes the interior roads have some pot holes, and yes it is confusing trying to find your site. I would recommend that each guest be escorted to their site. But it was delightful staying here. It has to be the most peaceful RV park anywhere! We loved watching the beautiful squirrels that inhabit this pine forest area. A neighbor had a peanut feeder hanging from a tree so we saw them frequently! Also lots of beautiful birds. There is a great laundry room at the office building, inexpensive and kept very clean. Lots are spacious and some are shady. Site surface is a concrete pad and the lot includes a fire ring, picnic table and patio.

We will definitely be coming back again. We camped at Hon-Dah Casino RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

If you like to gamble the Casino is right across the road. There is also a nice restaurant at the casino and it has an outside entrance so you don't have to walk through the cigarette smoke of the casino! If you sign up for the casino card you are given credit on it to be used in the slots or at the restaurant! We used ours for the buffet. This buffet isn't the biggest we have been to but had a nice choice of dishes including some great roast beef and crab legs. And for you chocolate lovers the brownies are to die for! Trust me on that one!

Bonito Campground (USFS), Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We spent 4 night here so that we could camp with our adult children and granddaughter. We chose it because of nearby national monument attractions and also because it was a beautiful location. Our only complaint was the lousy installation of the picnic table! It was on a slight downhill grade and they didn't level it properly! Not a huge deal, just aggravating. As others have stated there wasn't any cell phone coverage which was nice for all of us to be unplugged for the week end. We all had a great time and would definitely stay here again. We had to pay extra for our visitors vehicles! We camped at Bonito Campground (USFS) in a Fifth Wheel.

Verde Valley RV & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails), Cottonwood, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Though we do not have a 1000 Trails membership, we have stayed at a few through our RPI membership and have to say that this park was better than the others. It appeared to be well maintained, at least the grass was mowed and trimmed. But what I could not understand was why so many utility posts were out of order! The only benefit to us was that we did not have a neighbor on our door side! We were able to park our truck near our door, which was convenient, and still were on our site. We had a neighbor on the other side for a long weekend and when they had guests they had the guest park on our site, but they neglected to ask if that was alright with us! Nervy but we didn't say anything since we weren't using that space.

Since the campground area is in a valley we had NO Verizon signal. Every day we had to go over to the clubhouse and try and get on the parks wifi. It was very weak so it was less than satisfactory. We spent a week here and if the wifi were better we would come back, otherwise no! We camped at Verde Valley RV & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Fifth Wheel.

Page Springs Park, Cornville, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This could be a great park it certain things were addressed. First off the spacing of sites. You are right on top of your neighbor and their sewer hookup is right by your door! Also not enough space to park your vehicle. Someone across the road was getting ready to pull out and they had to ask several units across from him if they could move their trucks! Had to park our truck across the front of our space, which put us right on the edge of the road!

The park is at the bottom of a rather steep driveway which is hard to turn onto from the highway. Also that highway causes a lot of noise! At the lowest level of the park is a creek which had recently flooded due to the rains. So there were several sites that were not in use when we were here. Due to being at the bottom of that little valley there was NO Verizon signal! So no data to our hot spot. It was a long week! We were able to get a signal to the Direct TV dish! We will never stay here again. We camped at Page Springs Park in a Fifth Wheel.
