Walnut RV Park, Vega, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Once you leave Amarillo there isn't much out in the panhandle of Texas. But in Vega there is a nice little rv park run by the friendliest old fella. We have enjoyed our stay here and if in the area in the future we will definitely stay here again. There's not much in Vega but there is a great Mexican restaurant right across the street from the park. It's called Roosters and their crispy relleno is delicious. We camped at Walnut RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lewisville Lake Park Campground, Lewisville, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park on the shore of Lake Lewisville. Office staff very efficient and friendly. Had made a reservation and everything was ready for us when we arrived. Though the site wasn't huge it was more than big enough to put out our slides and awning. We had a nice lake view. We would stay here again. Only objections is that we could not reserve a 50 amp site because we have just one A/C unit! that is a city rule! We camped at Lewisville Lake Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lakeridge RV Park, Gun Barrel City, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

spent one night at this park. Had made a reservation and when we arrived Diana came out of her office to greet us. She was very friendly and helpful. The park is beautifully maintained, all the grassy areas were recently mowed (even though they have had a lot of rain in the last few weeks) and nicely trimmed along all the cement areas and flower beds. The flower beds were also well maintained. We had a pull through which exited through the rear of the park. Easy in and out. We would definitely stay here again. Though close to the main road in Gun Barrel the road noise was minimal. We camped at Lakeridge RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Magnolia Ridge COE, Woodville, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

We spent Memorial Day Weekend at this park. It was very quiet and peaceful. Well cared for park, in fact much better than some other COE parks we have stayed at. No litter, fire pits clean, grass mowed. Host/gate attendant was very pleasant and seemed to be very interested that we have a nice time in her park! We will definitely stay here again if in the area on a holiday week end. We camped at Magnolia Ridge COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Twin Dikes Park Campground, Brookeland, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this COE park many times in the past six years and it is one of our favorites. BUT this is the first time we have been very unhappy with the performance of the paid attendants. They are supposed to check on the park and they never do! This past week end we had several dogs running loose though the rules clearly state on a 6 foot leash and no longer! Also one of the camper must have thought that we wanted to hear their music so they had it up loud enough that we could hear it inside our rig, with our windows and door closed with the A/C running! Also the dog owners never picked up after their dogs nor removed their trash from their site, plus the paid park maintenance person hasn't cleaned up the sites. Everyone left on Sunday and this is Tuesday and nothing has been done! Not sure we will stay here again. We camped at Twin Dikes Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Childress City Fair Park, Childress, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Nice little city park with 4 or 5 sites on a first come first serve basis. Cannot make reservations. Self pay, make out a check and stick it in the metal box. We were only campers there. Right beside the rv spaces are the baseball diamonds. They had a game that night and so glad we didn't have an emergency because cars would have blocked us from being able to leave the park! But the park is pretty, they have a duck pond with a paved walk way around it just down the hill from the rv sites. We would definitely stay here again! We camped at Childress City Fair Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The campground is hard to find. It was on Commerce street. There is a metal arch over the entrance to Fair Park. The camping area is to the right! The water hook up is in the grassy area under a utility cover!

Lazy Days RV Park, Bowie, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This was just an overnight stay. Not much better than a Walmart parking but it was quiet. It is a funky, small, rundown place with mostly permanent residents. The lady managing the office was very nice. Greeted us as we arrived and said pick a spot then just come up to the office to register. Doubt that we would stay here again unless just for overnight. We camped at Lazy Days RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Just here for an overnight stay. Lady in office was all business. Had a sign on the wall that said "This is a business! No personal questions! She did lead us to our site. The site was level and spacious. Easy access to the main road through town. We would stay here again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Hidden Valley RV Resort, Tijeras, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is just another dumpy, old RV park and we won't stay here again! The spots are very narrow and when hooking up it is almost impossible to stay on your site! The roads to the site are rutted and the neighbors water spigot was leaking and made a big mud puddle on our door side. Neighbors on the other side were permanent residents that had a dog. He/she seemed like a nice dog but they had constructed a pen for the dog under their 5th wheel neck and he stayed there all day. He would bark some. But the weather was cold! I told the office about it. Doubt that they did anything. the park was over 70% permanent residents. We will not stay there again! We camped at Hidden Valley RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park), Sun Valley, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We called the park to let them know that we had been delayed and would arrive late. They said no problem there will be a packet at the office door. It was after dark when we arrived and what a welcoming committee we had. The owners and daughter and son in law came out to welcome us, get us registered and help us onto our site. This is a small park but the new owners are doing a lot to make your stay enjoyable. We spent two nights there, we toured Petrified Forest while there. We would definitely stay there again. We camped at Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Val Vista Village (55+ park), Mesa, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a huge park but it is well cared for and the sites are adequate. We stayed here because of the need of a repair to our tow vehicle and waiting for the part. Of course at this time of year the park was less than half full! But the office staff was were very pleasant to deal with. Our only problem was getting lost trying to find the exit! Took awhile to figure things out. Lots of amenities at this park for the winter visitors and beautiful facilities. We would stay here again. Our rate was the weekly rate. We camped at Val Vista Village (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Phoenix Metro RV Park (55+ park), Phoenix, Arizona

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 5 months due to a surgery and recovery. Very nice staff in office and terrific neighbors. It was a nice place to spend the winter and is well located for restaurants and shopping. Our rate is based on a monthly rate of $470, the electricity is extra. One nice feature was the availability of a mail box for each site. We could also have packages delivered there. We camped at Phoenix Metro RV Park (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Happy Valley Shopping area was just a couple of miles north of the park. This included lots of big box stores like Lowes and Walmart plus boutique type stores. There was also an ATI physical therapy center in that area which was very convenient for my knee surgery recovery.

Rio Robles RV Park, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly and helpful staffer in the office. Made registration quick and easy. We had a nice shady site but leaves are falling in Texas and wish we had slide covers because we had lots of wet leaves that needed to be cleaned off! But that being said this is a nicely cared for and very friendly park. It is a mixture of full timers in mobile homes that take lots of pride in their spaces. And the rv section was very nice and neat. Good electric but too much water pressure-had to use the reducer. There were some low hanging branches and spouse mentioned it to the maintenance fellows and they offered to cut them down, but we opted to back out of our pull through space. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Rio Robles RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

One of our favorite parks. Beautiful views of the lake. Large sites along the lake shore. We stayed for 10 days on our most recent stay. Would give it a 10 but since it doesn't have sewer hook up I only gave it an 8. We camped at Rayburn COE in a Fifth Wheel.
