Big Oaks Family Campground, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

All of the seasonal sites are wonderfull under a canopy of mature Oaks. The transient sites were an after thought along the access road in full sunlight. Parking was an issue all week: most sites had multiple vehicles. The single shower house was a fair walk into the nice part of the park. 2 feet between neighbor's awning and our slide. Under our awning was the 15+ electric meters on a shaky pole, along with a 4 foot by 2 foot electricity box. 30 feet directly across from our site was the camp garbage cans, along with the smell and flies. We camped at Big Oaks Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Chincoteague Island KOA (formerly Maddox Family Campground), Chincoteague, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

OK park in tourist area. Charged me a $15.00 early check inn fee. At 1:00 PM for a 2:00 PM check in. I complained at registration and was told: "You're Lucky It wasn't $25.00."

Interior non paved roads very rough. Heavy rain caused me to wade in 1 foot of standing water to pack up. We camped at Chincoteague Island KOA (formerly Maddox Family Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

The Refuge on Roanoke Island, Wanchese, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

The Park itself was OK, Level spaces in an semi circle around an Pond. The paved walkway is elevated about 3 ft without a fence or barrier. The park used numerous 2 ft high 6"X6" post to mark sites very difficult to see from your vehicle. The Manager had the worst attitude. He threatened to have us "kicked out", Accused my wife of being drunk, and told her to get new batteries for her hearing aid.( She is a retired business professional who do not drink).I have never encountered such a rude individual dealing with the public. We will never be back. We camped at The Refuge on Roanoke Island in a Travel Trailer.

Murfreesboro RV Park, Murfreesboro, Arkansas

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is nothing special. However if you are in the area to look for diamonds at Crater of Diamonds SP, the staff will give lessons and loan out free equipment. This assistance and knowledge is worth far more than the campground rate. They devoted several hours to our group helping clean our haul. In fact if you camp someplace else I would recommend that you pay for a spot just to talk with these people. We camped at Murfreesboro RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Greenbrier State Park, Boonsboro, Maryland

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Nightly rate reflects senior discount. A wonderful campground.Well maintained and layer out. 90 percent are wooded sites. A well defined level parking spot with about a 100 ft between campers. Our cellphone worked and we found several local TV stations with the antenna. The location was great near I-70 on Rt 40 between Hagarstown and Fredrick Md. A short drive to Antietam battlefield and Harpers Ferry. A great spot for exploring the area. A 10 in my book We camped at Greenbrier State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Price reflects a 3 night for the price of 2 special. We camped with friends. Campground staff very frendly and helpful. Great location for visiting the battlefield. Park was clean and orderly, with decent sized spaces. Will stay here again. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Elk Neck State Park, North East, Maryland

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The full hook up sites were wonderful. This area circled a small hill top with the shower and rest room at the top. Only a few steps away from all the sites. Large level sites. Good TV reception. However the vast majority of sites were non hook ups! I bet Summer and weekends fill up early for the hookups. A trip to the swimming beach requires a drive. I rate this as one of the best parks we have stayed in. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Anvil Campground, Williamsburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

A small clean, tight Park. Back in sites overlap for all but the shortest units. Park situated between rail Road tracks and highway. During our stay, the train hauling coal would barrel through about every 2 hours day and night. We camped at Anvil Campground in a Travel Trailer.
