Unicoi State Park and Lodge, Helen, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2006 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Our family reunions have taken place at this park for the past 2 years. It is a beautiful place, very woodsy, rustic, huge trees, nice lake, streams, hiking trails and all located close to the quaint city of Helen, Ga. We truly enjoy our visits there but, this year, the campground host for our area was very negligent in greeting, assisting folks coming in. It's a shame, after all, the host gets a free campsite and should be friendly and helpful, neither of which this one was. We would stay there again, since the hosts change all of the time. We camped at Unicoi State Park and Lodge in a Travel Trailer.

Cordele KOA, Cordele, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2006 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Good location off of I-75 but, office staff is very unfriendly, distant, not at all polite; man who showed us our site was nice. Lots of long term units in place and people sitting around to 2-3 a. m. drinking and loud (kept us awake after a long day on the road). It seems that KOA's are really going downhil, in general. I've been a member for a long time and, over the past 2 years have had many complaints and, I'm easy to get along with. Would not stay there again. We camped at Cordele KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Lake City Campground & Resort, Lake City, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2006 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Located in a run-down area. Autos "drag racing" and owner's dogs barking late into the night kept us awake after a long day on the road. Many long term units and lots of people sitting around. Not a secure feeling. Campground staff very abrupt and not at all friendly. Would not stay there again. We camped at Lake City Campground & Resort in a Travel Trailer.
