Flying Goose Campground, Fairmont, Minnesota

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Stopped here for a couple of days on our trek west. Very friendly owners, even invited us to a Potluck dinner on Saturday night. Sites are spacious and very clean. Many trees for shade and fire pits at each site. A lot of seasonal campers who are very friendly and return year after year. Many family activities during the summer months. We plan to come back to stay during the summer. We camped at Flying Goose Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a BIG place. Stopped for an overnight stay. Good pull thru with enough space to maneuver easily. Plenty of open spots this time of year. Did not use any of the facilities. They seem to have a lot of family activities during the summer months. Staff was friendly. We camped at Greenwood Acres Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Elkhorn Campground, Frankfort, Kentucky

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Raining and we needed a place to spend the night. Was told the price was raised due to the "World Equestrian Games" in the area. Felt it was price gouging, as the normal price would have been half the amount, but what can you do? Sites were spacious enough and they have a lot of activities for families. Did not use any of the facilities. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Motorhome.

Lakewood RV Resort (55+ park), Flat Rock, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

About half the park looks like permanent RVs, other half for travelers. There are also a lot of Park models. It is very clean and well kept. The pool was closed. We would rate this higher, but we were put in a pull-through that didn't allow us to put out our slides. We did tell them when we called that we had a big rig with slides. We used this park for an overnight stay. We camped at Lakewood RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for two weeks. Grounds well maintained. Bathrooms and showers very clean. Did not use the pool. There are a lot of speed bumps, but they didn't seem to pose a problem for anyone here. Office personnel were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
