This park is under new ownership and they have increased the rates for the park. Not worth the value of the increase for what you get a gravel field with pedestals on the main highway. The laundry has old machines sitting around and not operational.

Clean, quiet and the views of the river was stunning. Stayed one night but would have stayed longer if time permitted. It is not a large park but for its size it is full of charm.

Nice but a tight place to get into if you are in a large motorhome unit greater than 35'. No drive through sites available. We stayed one night passing through, the 30 amp service was adequate but it tripped often due to a weak breaker in the box. We reported the problem to the maintenance staff and they were on it right away. We will stay again if in the area.

Of all the state parks we have ever stayed in not including Custer State Park in SD, this has to be the best based on campground layout alone. The drive through sites were large enough for 2 rigs, we stayed in our 35' motorhome with our jeep tow and had room for another unit. The park was clean, well maintained. The only downfall is the $5 per motor vehicle surcharge so we only paid for the motorhome and not the jeep. Would visit again if in the area.

Almost all the parks in the San Isabel NF is worth a stop to see if it meets your needs, quiet and the views of the surrounding mountains is simply breath taking. If you need electric, water and sewer hookups keep on driving.

We stayed 4 nights to Jeep and day trips in the area. Very central location with lots of outdoor activities available. The campground is located at the edge of town and you can walk into town easily from campground. Initial impression when you drive up may not be good but the gravel sites were level and water, electric, sewer all worked well. Very good cable TV channel selection. Did not use their Wi-Fi. Rudy the owner was eager to help. Overall, this was a good, quiet place for us to stay. If you're expecting a plush campground with lots of activities, this is not it. This is our second visit and would use it again.

We stayed in the Heaton Bay for its proximity to the trail rides in the area. Close to I-70 but relatively quiet. If you're looking for 5 star accommodations this is not it, But if looking for a convenient place you can't beat it in the area for the price. Adequate space between sites, nice views and close to town. If you need the Hilton stay in Denver. We will return. Asphalt surface pad.

This is not a customer friendly establishment. It appears they want your money but not your repeat business. Their facilities were nice enough, but there is more to running a business than clean facilities. We brought several coaches to this facility, and they complained about our water usage when others in the park were washing their RVs and watering their campsite lawn. It appears that the discounted seasonal rentals have more privileges than folk who pay full rates. The pads were gravel and heavy with weeds. Tree limbs were dead and falling on visitor's cars. Tight turns and potholes on the back turns made if awkward for larger vehicles to navigate through the park.

We have stayed here several times. The park is well maintained, and they have a friendly staff. Our site only had 30 amp, but that was not an issue for us. We enjoyed the convenience to the Amish attractions, shopping, and the RV Surplus businesses. National RV Appliance repair is a few hundred yards away. There is an ice cream shop on grounds. We had a small rally here in June, and we will come back.

We spent a couple nights here and the only site they had available was #1 which overlooks the beach on the river and Lake Superior. I would use again, but would call first for site availability. Number 1, as far as I could tell, would be the only site for a larger RV, bus or big rig. Many seasonal rental units, fishing was nice in the river and the waterfalls up the river is a must to see. I highly recommend a jeep to travel to the falls, rough road getting to falls. Park is clean and well maintained. A very friendly staff and we would visit again.

We stayed here for 3 nights while coming out of the back country of Ontario. Very friendly little town; the staff at the park was very nice & friendly. Wi-fi was available with good reception. They have a pool, laundry facility, and clean showers which we inspected but did not use. I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a nice quiet place on the TC Highway in Wawa.

If you are looking for a no frills place to spend the night right on the interstate with a lot of heavy traffic noise then this is the place. A few seasonals & construction contractors utilized this location. To me it is just one step above a Wal-Mart parking lot.

Called to confirm availability of 50 amp site, when arrived only site available was a 30 amp. Site pedestal had a faulty ground which was reported to office. Office staff was a youth and very rude, informed us they were over booked and that their electric was overloaded. We took a refund & departed.

This park is 15 miles to downtown Louisville, KY and is the only real campground within 25 miles of Louisville. It is clean, spacious and well maintained. Hiking trails all over the place. The Ohio River is on the lower edge of the park with Fourteen Mile Creek to the east. The mid-week rates are the most reasonable. The park has full service sites and electric sites but no pull through sites. There are plenty of level sites, the better sites for wildlife viewing are on the outer edge of the northern section. Raccoon, coyote, deer, turkey and red squirrel roam through the park.

We have stayed in this park on 4 different times and enjoy it more each time. Plenty of deer and turkey throughout the park, trails and small lakes all over. It is tucked away so follow the map and not the GPS because a GPS may take you to the local race track and not the campground. The park has several pull throughs. We will stay in this park again.
