River Plantation RV Park, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: November, 2011 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Park was easy in. Sites where OK. Our pull through was fairly level with crushed gravel as was the roads inside the park. Interior roads could stand some work, lots of potholes. My gripe was the staff at registration. They where more interested in watching the large flat screen TV behind the desk instead of taking my money. After a long day of travel in the rain, I was ready to get parked. Would probably look elsewhere next time. We camped at River Plantation RV Park in a Motorhome.

Solid Rock RV Park (formerly North Shore RV Park), Eastland, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2011 - $25.00

Forced off the road due to the snow and ice on the way back from Quartzsite. Level, long pull through sites. Hard to see much under the snow. Since the water was frozen, the owner came by with jugs of water in case. We'll use this park again. We camped at Solid Rock RV Park (formerly North Shore RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Leaf Verde RV Resort, Buckeye, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2011 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Park is easy in/out. It is close to shopping centers (Wal-Mart, Fry's). We stopped after leaving Quartzsite to empty tanks and fill water tank. The only real drawback to this park is the tight sites. I also don't like being able to walk out of my door and directly into my neighbors door. Even so, the convenience and location will make this a return. We camped at Leaf Verde RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA), Van Horn, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Far enough off the Interstate so no noise. Wide, level, long pull through sites. The WiFi works good. Food at the small cafe is down home. We stop here if in the area. All the water was frozen but what do you expect when it's 4 degrees? We will stay again. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

We continue to be impressed with the new owners of this place. Everything is clean and neat. Staff goes overboard to be of assistance. We went with the grandkids for a Halloween event. What a blast they/we had. We will return. We camped at Compton Ridge Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $51.00

Getting into some of the sites can be a little tight. During our stay we had to move from FHU to W/E site. Almost hit a tree backing into the W/E site. Train was just a noise, no horns so it did not bother us. On complaint was the stink bugs that invaded out coach. We are still trying to get rid of them. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Motorhome.

All right for an over night stop based on price paid. It would be nice if they would add Wi-Fi. Our pull through was under a tree, so no satellite. Other sites where in the open. We would stay again if in the area. We camped at Sun Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Broken Wheel Campground, Weston, West Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

I called to see if they could handle our 42'. I was told they had a couple of sites. The clerk suggested I look first. If I could have gotten in the site, I'm not sure I could have put out slides. I did run the water while checking the site, it never did clear up. It is a nice park for smaller rigs I would think. We did not stay here. We camped at Broken Wheel Campground in a Motorhome.

Clean park with a nice owner/staff. Our site was level, wide enough for slides. We had to un-hook but needed to go into town anyhow. We would stay again. We camped at Pueblo KOA in a Motorhome.

Wellington KOA, Wellington, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this park years ago. New owners have built new buildings and put in new sites. The pull-throughs in the front were plenty wide, long, and level. The only stick was I needed propane, had to leave the park, down to Wal-Mart, turn around and return to the park. The tank is by the entrance and off to the side of the road. They do not have enough hose to reach you if you are on the road. We would stay again. We camped at Wellington KOA in a Motorhome.

Lakeside Marina Campground, Lakeside, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Asking for a pull since just overnight, we were told to just pull thru the back in to the other side. Ground looked wet but assumed they knew what the were talking about. I also asked about the distance between the light pole and water raiser. No problem. Well, 2 problems, the water faucet was rubbing the compartment door and the front wheels where about 6" down in the mud. Had to un-hook so we could back out, then go around to back into assigned site. We were afraid to get off the gravel pad (what little there was) so had to have an extension to reach electric which was behind the coach. Not sure I had enough water hose so did not attempt to reach the faucet. After raining all night, a large part of the park was under water the next morning. After following the exit signs (after hooking up tow),we found the gate was locked. Luckily, I noticed it before passing a street that took me back to the office. I would stay again if I needed too but would not go out of the way. Customer service was a little lacking. We camped at Lakeside Marina Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice park and operators. If you are at Mayo, you do not have to give them a departure date. A shuttle operates to Mayo. Nice, clean park. Hope we do not have to return to the area, but if we do, our first choice. We camped at Autumn Woods RV Park in a Motorhome.
