Leisure Acres Campground, Inc, Cleveland, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient location to visit the mountains. Very quiet and peaceful. Spotlessly maintained older campground with gravel interior roads and sites. Our long pull thru site was level. Mostly easy to maneuver with a long rig. Different areas for owners, long term and short term guests. Staff is efficient. Sent us to our site to hook up and get comfortable before we completed the paperwork. Enjoyed walking our Jack Russells around the pretty pond. We camped at Leisure Acres Campground, Inc in a Fifth Wheel.

Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park, Cordele, Georgia

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This was our second overnite stay at this campground. We chose a 30 amp pull thru site at the back of Loop 3 since we did not need to run air conditioning. Sites are generally spacious and offer some privacy. The park offers many inviting attractions for longer stays such as lake sites, lodge, golf, Sam Shortline train and military history. The park is located about 10 miles from Cordele. Stripling's Meat Market near the entrance is well worth a visit. We camped at Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Southern Palms RV Resort, Eustis, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large park (over 600 sites) divided into sections in a popular area. All sites are grass and gravel back ins with rear hookups (bring extra hoses). Reservations are made thru corporate center, so be sure to specify 30 or 50 amps. Our nightly rate reflects five nights of camping, taxes, resort fee, and Good Sam discount. Sites are not uniformly level but are manageable with some effort. Excellent response from staff to repair our electrical hookup. WiFi hotspots are available around park. The campground is convenient to good restaurants, shopping and lakes recreation. We camped at Southern Palms RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Enjoyed spending Thanksgiving week here in a pull thru site on the hillside with beautiful views. Owners and staff are efficient and concerned with guests' comfort. Ongoing improvements promise even better camping. We camped at Scenic Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Boss's RV Park, Wrens, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice little campground out in the country. Sites are grassy and not well marked - generally just squaring up to the utilities. We overnited in an easy in-and-out pull thru site. Owners are conscientious in seeing that guests are comfortable. Beautiful pavilion that would work well for groups. Best WiFi we have encountered in years of camping. We camped at Boss's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Spring Lake RV Resort, Crossville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Over all winner for adults. Park is user friendly and lovely. Enjoyed a site that backed up to edge of lake. Furnished with new grill, bistro table, and swing on concrete patio. Really appreciate the thought and hard work that goes into maintaining the park. Only slight annoyance is inability to connect to Internet with park WiFi (firewall rejects mobile devices such as IPads) so we were mostly unable to check email. We camped at Spring Lake RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park, Cordele, Georgia

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Overnighting here was easy and relaxing. Seems to be a destination type of park, especially for families. The variety of activities invites campers to stay for a while. Sites range from tight lake front views to wide open camping away from the water. Fire ant mounds suggest that bugs could be a problem in warmer weather; gnats gathered in our adult beverages as we enjoyed the sundown. This park is definitely on our "leisurely visit" list. We camped at Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Topsail Hill State Preserve, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Have enjoyed this park during every one of our numerous visits. Glad to see renovations of sites and facilities in progress for campers' safety. There is enough foliage between sites to provide privacy when you want it. Planned activities such as free concerts encourage socialization. Rate seems steep at first but includes all the taxes. We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Destin has grown into a large city and is spreading out on Hwy. 98. Abundance of shopping centers. However, the small towns down Hwy 30-A are quirky and delightful. Many fine restaurants and lovely beaches in the area.

Bay Breeze RV On The Bay, Gulf Shores, Alabama

Enjoyed the month here with the snowbirders. Had a scenic view of the bay and, of course, the winds sometimes coming off the bay . Socializing around the campfire is a popular activity in January. The owners welcome everyone warmly but respect campers' privacy. We camped at Bay Breeze RV On The Bay in a Fifth Wheel.

Sherling Lake Park, Greenville, Alabama

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Have overnited here twice and have been very satisfied with facilities. Love the mix of woods and openness. As other campers noted, the layout is a bit quirky since the campground is configured on a hillside, but that does not interfere with access at all. Again, follow the signs - not your GPS. We camped at Sherling Lake Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Battlefield Campground & RV Park (formerly Lookout Mt/Chatt South KOA), Ringgold, Georgia

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Over-nighted here and it was a nightmare. Hilly, washed out roads. Overhanging trees prevent safe exiting for large rigs. Detour exit routes not clearly marked. Much noisy construction and tree removal going on, so there is promise of better camping to come. Many permanent residents at top of campground; other sites are mostly "make do" right now. Will not return. We camped at Battlefield Campground & RV Park (formerly Lookout Mt/Chatt South KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Dutch Treat Camping & Recreation, Zeeland, Michigan

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here three nights while we visited Holland, Zeeland and Lake Michigan. Our site was a double wide pull thru at the back of the park and we shared hook ups. Site was fairly level. Due to the season we had plenty of privacy. Lots of room to exercise our Jack Russells. The laundry room is small but machines were in good working order. $2 for large capacity washer. A large number of permanent residents, but sites were fairly neat. We would definitely return for a longer stay. We camped at Dutch Treat Camping & Recreation in a Fifth Wheel.

Red Gate Campground & RV Resort, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Always enjoy coming back to Red Gate. This visit was for a week while we attended a wedding downtown. Very convenient to all the River Street fun and a relaxing get away from the crowds. We really enjoyed the tranquility of the semiprivate sites. We were tucked under a huge live oak tree that shaded us from the worst of the heat. We agree that these sites are definitely worth the little bit extra. We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

If you have not visited this RV park, you are missing a treat. Sites are spacious and well-maintained - easy in and out. Views - creek or mountain - are wonderful. The staff's attention to details is apparent everywhere. Sorry we could stay only two nights this visit. Love the area. We camped at Cedar Creek Park RV & Driving Range in a Fifth Wheel.
