Aggieland RV Park, Bryan, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Early afternoon arrival so easy trip through town to great location on 6 and 21. Colson St. could have been wider, but, that is not park's fault. Narrow road, so be prepared. Park roads great and pads level. Ours was set to favor a motorhome I think but we fit well. Power and TV cable are at the very back, so, have long cord if yours is midship. Noise from Highway 6 is minimal and TV was recently scrambled causing issuance of a descrambler provided. It connects as if you were using satellite receiver instead of cable direct to TV.

Check for football games in town. Always check that coming to the area. We camped at Aggieland RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Sodolacks just out the exit has great food. More to shop and eat south on 6 and a new/old one just north on Tabor Rd. we did not get to. Fuel and service can be found easily. Reminder: have long power cord unless your connection is in the rear.

Oak Forest RV Park, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Wife and I stayed 6 nights while helping move daughter and family to Austin. This park was closest to new address and filled every need. It is very clean and quiet considering the convenient location. Pool even has handicapped assist chair for entering and exiting the pool. Very good dog place if you travel with one. Concrete drives and pads, shade and just a good place to stay. Check their schedule for "events" that could fill the park. Will be back. We camped at Oak Forest RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Holiday RV Park, College Station, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Back for third and fourth visit this year as grandbaby just down the road. Cable is very good and park location is close to just about everything in town / you name it. Did have a hard East Texas storm night before we left that shook some trailers and "pruned some trees" I'm afraid. Shade will be a bit less in some spots. Road and site immaculate and well maintained. Will be back again. We camped at Holiday RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lufkin KOA (formerly Lufkin RV Resort), Lufkin, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice facility traveling US 59. Visited while getting RV work at Genuine RV, Nacogdoches, TX. Use of 2021 may become useful as highway construction on US 59/69 and the loop around Lufkin is in progress. Call ahead in the future for last minute update on entrance off the loop. Could use more laundry, shower and bath, but, got by fine. Several highway construction workers, but, quiet place as they work all day and come and go quietly. We camped at Lufkin KOA (formerly Lufkin RV Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Livingston/Onalaska KOA, Onalaska, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Finally came back after this was known as Bridgeport KOA in the 70s'. Nice clean park with a few sites near the beach. Most are north of the office where bath facilities are. East Texas has ants and stickers, so expect some and staff will help on pests if found. Onsite restaurant only open weekends for lunch and dinner now. Groceries, food, gas etc., very close in Onalaska. We camped at Lake Livingston/Onalaska KOA in a Travel Trailer.

River View RV Park & Resort, Vidalia, Louisiana

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is the standard weekly rate we paid for site 91 south of the office. Facilities were clean and everything worked. Cable is somewhat lacking as facilities to the park can't handle more bandwidth I guess. Local TV was good and finally got our Dishnet to work. Shopping and dining are really not far away and the entrance just got paved day before we left. Will come back to enjoy the area more. We camped at River View RV Park & Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Holiday RV Park, College Station, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Always check in advance due to Texas A&M close by with activities always going on. Rate based on three days and one week rate which allowed us to play with grandbaby longer. Facilities and staff were wonderful as usual. Be self contained as there are no showers/restrooms. Very close to everything in College Station. Always approach from the west on 2818 to avoid U-turns. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Holiday RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Hwy 71 RV Park, Cedar Creek, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Staff was very friendly when we called broken down on the side of the highway. Good Sam had a wrecker on the way, and we selected Hwy. 71 as the destination for the tow. Came in the front gate on a flatbed with trailer in tow on the hook. Went directly to first site set aside for us and proceeded to repair our trip. Shower/restrooms were very clean, pool wonderful, washing machines were clean and large with waiting area at the office. We can't complain about a thing as highway noise is part of travel. Gated for security and clean. We camped at Hwy 71 RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Schulenburg RV Park, Schulenburg, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2011 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Our first stop here after passing by many times. It is an easy 6 hours to the Rio Grande Valley from here after a good meal at "Franks Restaurant" just up the road. Dairy Queen is adjoining if in a hurry. Very quaint old buildings are part of atmosphere of old town. Suggest a stay to check out the "painted churches" as this is an old German area. All slots are long pull throughs with very good roads. Laundry small, but, will do. We camped at Schulenburg RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lazy G RV Park, College Station, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2011 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Enjoyed our usual stop here. Always call ahead to check on college/race track crowd. Wi-Fi worked well as we were near the office. Laundry is nice, but be sure to check machines as workers had made messes in the past. Shower/restrooms still very nice and roomy. Park is "For Sale" as owners had to retire. I'm keeping fingers crossed it stays open and improves. We camped at Lazy G RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Hamilton RV Resort, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $25.00

Make sure you use the Albert Pike (Hwy 270W) address if using a GPS. New Magellan took us to the locked back gate on Thorton Ferry Road and what a mess to get turned around. Very quiet as off season and cool weather. Lake view was nice and were to tired to walk to showers so stayed in. We camped at Lake Hamilton RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Auburn RV Park at Leisure Time Campground, Auburn, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Called ahead to be sure no large college thing going on and the new Magellan took us right to the entrance to the parking lot. This park is located in the rear of parking lot for baseball facility and up on a hill allowing viewing of the games. Shower etc. very spacious and comfortable as it is very open with large bench in the center of the room. Be sure the local cat doesn't get caught in the room when you leave. We camped at Auburn RV Park at Leisure Time Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Parker's Landing RV Park, Biloxi, Mississippi

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

New Magellan took us to the front door. A large tire and auto/truck repair place being constructed at the exit stop sign on the way in if needed in the future. Trees helped mask noise from I-10 a bit. Shower and restroom facility is old, but worked fine. Office staff very nice and in the off season, this is a quiet place to stay. We camped at Parker's Landing RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Welcomed stop after long day out of South Texas. Dropped in with no call and directed to a very nice spot just across from showers. Wife looked into the laundry and said it was nice. It is away from I-10 and quiet as I'd hoped. We camped at San Jacinto Riverfront RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground, Swannanoa, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed out stay and the atmosphere was wonderful. It was late for leaf color, but the park was still beautiful to Texas folk. Only drawback was lack of place to put clothing in showers, so plan ahead with at least a hangar or something. Laundry was nice and clean. Wi-Fi worked in our trailer half way back in slot #15. RV supply/service across interstate as well as large grocery store and eating joints. Don't pass this up! We camped at Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground in a Travel Trailer.
