Armitage Park , Eugene, Oregon

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Clean, well-run. Handy online reservations ($10 fee, however). Farther from the freeway than some, but that made for a quieter ambiance. Very near to the McKenzie river. We camped at Armitage Park in a Motorhome.

Redwood Empire Fairgrounds, Ukiah, California

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

There is some construction yet to be done, so combined with the frequent wind, the site is dusty. The people managing the facility are friendly. Shaded back-in sites are available (on the South edge of the area). A crew was installing a Wi-Fi system while we were there, so that should be complete by now. All-in-all, a satisfactory 3-day stay for a very reasonable rate. We camped at Redwood Empire Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Manor Oaks Overnighter RV Park, Ukiah, California

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $35.00

Found their local number on internet, called, got answering machine, left message we need a spot in 2 days, please call back and confirm. Next day, hadn't heard from them, called twice telling them we were on our way. Heard nothing. Got to the place, office was closed (1:00 pm on Sunday, 10/3/10), no one at the assist mgr trailer, no forms to fill out to register on the outside desk. There may have been several open spaces, but cars or pickups were parked in them. General impression was of run-down facilities, uncaring management, somewhat hostile/indifferent permanent residents. We ended up staying elsewhere in Ukiah, and chatted with two other people about Manor Oaks; they confirmed our poor impression of the place. We camped at Manor Oaks Overnighter RV Park in a Motorhome.
