Hickory Hollow Campground, Utica, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Very well kep RV park with level sites. Friendly owners/staff. Rate was for PPA which they honored the 2 nights we were there. Cash only for the discount and you MUST show them the discount card. Our site, C2, was able to get a satellite signal, but others sites could not. Our Verizon and T-Mobile worked great. I would have rated them a 10, but the laundry room closes at 7 pm. We camped at Hickory Hollow Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to WalMart and shopping in Peru. The HY-VEE grocery store is wonderful. Best grocery store we have come across throughout the NW where we spent the summer. We were able to scan in several local channels without even raising our antennae. We would come here again.

Arrow Campground, Wall, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

I really liked this campground. It is a no frills, close to Wall Drug store and 8 miles from Badlands National Park. The owners are nice and the sites are level, with good cable, and satellite friendly. Our Verizon and T-Mobil internets worked well. Train did not bother us. Great overnight spot. We camped at Arrow Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Jared's Wild Rose Ranch Resort, Island Park, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $78.00
Overall Rating:

Very unlevel sites. We had to back out of our pull through because it was so unlevel and bumpy. Long weeds everywhere. They do not give you a map of the place, nor do they tell you where everything is located. They have 1 washer and dryer in building 2 and 1 more washer and dryer in building 3. One of the owners removed my laundry before the dryer had stopped (I was back after 25 minutes and he had just put them in my laundry bag). Yes the towels were dry, but it was still running so don't touch my items. Waaaay overpriced. This place could really be nice if they just put some effort into cleaning up the area and leveling the sites. We camped at Jared's Wild Rose Ranch Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Bruneau Dunes State Park, Mountain Home, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Loved this placed. Only downsides are the un level sites, but we were able to get it level with blocks. Also, our picnic table had some poop (cat?) on it, and the grass/weeds were a foot tall in all of the sites. Other than that, it was perfect. We camped at Bruneau Dunes State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Rent a sand sled from the visitor center and go sledding down the sand dune. LOTS of FUN! Also, the observatory is open on Friday and Saturday nights. Go if you are able. We were able to see the rings around Saturn.

Concrete / Grandy Creek KOA, Concrete, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Very quiet park. We could not get a satellite signal here but our Verizon internet did work. Long way to National park. We arrived 15 minutes before the "official" check-in time and received a lecture about it. The girl at the gate, no office here, told us that she did not know if our site would be ready or not because she hadn't had time to do a drive through to check. We had us pull into an open field, no road, and wait while she drove around and checked. She then came by to let us know that our site was available. No escort to site. We camped at Concrete / Grandy Creek KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Ellensburg KOA, Ellensburg, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Lots of low hanging trees in the 50 AMP pull through sites making it very difficult to get into site. When they came through with mower, we had to stop the guy from shooting the debris at our rig. We were able to get a satellite signal from our site. 2 bars on our Verizon hotspot and cell phones worked fine. Some road noise. Friendly office staff. We camped at Ellensburg KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

French Quarter RV Resort, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $108.00
Overall Rating:

Great location. Walking distance to French Quarter. Our site, #28, backed up to some kind of factory and was very loud at night with trucks and buses coming and going. All. Night. Long. My sister was on the other side, site #6, and it was quiet over there. Very secure RV park with very friendly staff. We camped at French Quarter RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Cajun Haven RV Park, Egan, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent WIFI. Pine trees are low hanging and no way to avoid them. Drainage ditches can make some turns difficult for larger rigs. It had just rained when we arrived so there were large puddles we had to drive through. He said they try to keep it graded, but hard to keep up with all the rain they had been getting. Very friendly employees and accommodating. We camped at Cajun Haven RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The Villages RV Park at Turning Stone, Verona, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Good location to the interstate for our 1 night stay. Very nice clean well kept park. Nice employees. We were not able to get a satellite signal through the trees, but they have a great cable system here. Our Verizon hotspot worked great. Our site wasn't the longest, but plenty of room to stay hooked up to our 5th wheel. The sites are very wide, so you are not on top of your neighbor. We loved the quiet here. Free 24 hour shuttle to the great casino, and all the employees there were also friendly. We camped at The Villages RV Park at Turning Stone in a Fifth Wheel.

Glo Wood Campground, Pendleton, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Pros: Close to I-69, long pull-throughs, satellite friendly, friendly owners. Our site was level, but there are some that are not. Our Verizon hotspot and phones worked well here.

Cons: The access road is very bumpy but then you get to the campground and it is even worse. Many, many deep potholes. Thankfully it didn't rain while we were here or it would be a muddy nightmare.

FYI: Cash or check only. We camped at Glo Wood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Mr. D's RV & Camper Park, Ozark, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Great overnight stop. We stay here everytime we pass through this area as it is a lot cheaper than the nationally known RV park down the road. Easy in and out with level sites. We have never had a problem with the electric. Good water pressure. We get good Verizon reception here, and even though they have good cable we prefer our satellite which there is great satellite reception. Pet friendly. The owner is very nice and you will get escorted to your site, which is great for when you arrive after dark. It is very close to shopping and restaurants. We camped at Mr. D's RV & Camper Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain View RV Park, Van Horn, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Easy in/out right off exit 140. There is a Love's gas station at the exit. Two very friendly women checked us in. The rate was posted at $35/night, and I asked if they belonged to any discount clubs. They said not yet, but they would give me a $5 discount anyway. Nice long level gravel sites. A large pine tree in-between each site provided some shade, but does not obstruct satellite signal. Strong Verizon signal here. Good water pressure. Some road/train noise, but not much. There is a nice view of mountains. We will stay here again when passing through. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lumberton/I-95 KOA Campground, Lumberton, North Carolina

Date of Stay: December, 2012 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects Good Sam rate. The sites are packed gravel and very long and level. It is also satellite friendly. We did not hook up to the water as the temps were going down to 27, so I cannot comment on the water pressure. There is some road noise, but not loud enough to bother us. Staff is very friendly and escorts you to your site. We would stay here again. We camped at Lumberton/I-95 KOA Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Jolly Acres RV Park and Storage, Saint George, South Carolina

Date of Stay: December, 2012 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

The rate reflects the Passport America rate. This park is a total of about 6 miles off of the I-95, but worth the drive. It is a quiet country setting campground with a friendly staff. It is a well maintained campground, with a few long term residents. We had site #8, which does not have sewer hookups, but we don't need them for a short stay. This site has a couple trees, but we were still able to get a satellite signal. We liked it so much, that we decided to stay a 2nd night. We camped at Jolly Acres RV Park and Storage in a Fifth Wheel.
