Seacliff State Beach, Aptos, California

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

The most beautiful spot we've camped at! Back in sites right on the beach with full hookups. It was very quiet, and each site has a sandy "yard" with picnic table. The one-mile boardwalk is in front of the sites. We stayed 3 nights and wished it were longer. We camped at Seacliff State Beach in a Motorhome.

Calistoga RV and Campground, Calistoga, California

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Great location right in town but in poor condition. We were only able to reserve a water and electric site which was very narrow. We recommend the full hookup sites which are only $3 more per night and much wider with 50 amp service (the non-sewer sites are 30 amp). The facilities are very basic and in need of repair. Very few of the sites have shade which is important as Calistoga can get very hot, even in September. We camped at Calistoga RV and Campground in a Motorhome.

Reno KOA at Boomtown, Verdi, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Park is essentially a blacktop parking lot with a few trees and small grassy areas next to each site. Rate was with Woodall's coupon, otherwise it would have been over $50. There is a free shuttle to the casino and to Cabela's (a great sporting goods store), as well and good RV access to the local gas station. The campground at Terribles was much prettier but more expensive. We camped at Reno KOA at Boomtown in a Motorhome.

Iron Horse RV Resort, Elko, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Clean and new park but lots of long-term renters. Swimming pool and spa for campground were very clean but pool is very small. Hotel facilities are available to campers however you need to hike up a hill to get to them. Park was quiet. We camped at Iron Horse RV Resort in a Motorhome.
