Ozark Trails RV Park and Campground, Linn Creek, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

The rate reflects the monthly rate which was a GREAT Deal. This park is in Linn Creek which is just south of Osage Beach but a little ways from Lake Ozark (the town). It's very close to plenty of things to do. The on site management was very friendly. The park is a mix of weekenders and month to month units. All of the sites are well kept and its not like you feel like you're unwelcome as can be the case with some parks that have monthly tenants. They have a pool but the real draw is the lake which is super close. There's a state park nearby with boat launch and nice swimming area, Wal-Mart is close too. Overall - a nice place. Only gripe is that the site was only sort of level. I used ten leveling bricks and almost got it straight.

I'll stay there again, soon. We camped at Ozark Trails RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Some U-turns due to the way Highway 54 is laid out - if you have a tow vehicle, you can make the turns but the on-coming traffic is a little tricky. I have a Chev 2500 with a 38' TT.

Slough Creek COE, Perry, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We've stayed here a few times and it's very nice. It's typical for the Corps of Engineer parks in this area. LOTs of space between sites, nice boat ramp and plenty of room to "spread out." It gets pretty busy around Holidays and long weekends but we think that adds to the fun. They have separate areas that allow and do not allow pets - which is really nice. No sewer (bummer), good water pressure, good electric, good tv reception, no camp store, not too close to anything so pack accordingly. We camped at Slough Creek COE in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Some sites are more level than others - if you have the opportunity and time, I'd recommend driving through the park to find the right spot for you and your set up. Waterfront sites go very fast on weekends.

Fort De Soto Campground, Tierra Verde, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Pros: Wow - what a great location!! You can't get any closer to the water than this place without camping on a boat, you can actually anchor your boat right off the shore of your campground. Fishing galore, several beaches, great trails for walking and biking, canoe/kayak rentals, nice shop, all very well maintained, super nice park rangers. Cons: who brings their own fire ring? no campfires without one. REALLY tight roads and low branches in and out. We have 36' trailer and it took some patient maneuvering to get parked and more to get out, but plenty of room once we were set up. The strict no booze rule was kind of ridiculous. We camped at Fort De Soto Campground in a Travel Trailer.

St Augustine Beach KOA, St Augustine Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

This is going to sound more negative than I intend. We stayed here last year and it looks like there's been some investment in the property. It's nice park. That said, the Wi-Fi is terrible unless you're just looking for email and a quick check of the news. Once you get logged in you're good for a few minutes, but if you're looking for any kind "usage" like youtube or even downloading pictures on FB, you're in for some really slow internet. The pad was paved and pretty level. All the hook ups are in good working order. The staff is nice, but they know the park will be full and have that kind of take it or leave it attitude. A little cramped. St Augustine is the true star - a great place. We'll almost certainly come back to this location. It's really close to both the old town and the beach. We camped at St Augustine Beach KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Orlando / Kissimmee KOA, Kissimmee, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2011 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

What a super nice place to stay. We tried, unsuccessfully, to get a spot on the Disney park but we didn't plan well and they were booked up. What we found at this KOA is exactly where we'll stay from now on. Super nice people, really clean and well maintained and pretty darn close to the parks (a little far from Universal) at a great price. The previous reviewer was correct, it is pretty close to Waffle House, but that just makes it easier to grab some "smothered, covered and capped" all that easier in the morning. We will Absolutely recommend this place. Spring for the upgraded spots, we took an economy slot and it was nice but a little small. We camped at Orlando / Kissimmee KOA in a Travel Trailer.

St Augustine Beach KOA, St Augustine Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2011 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

It's hard to have a bad time in St. Augustine. This park is typical of all he KOAs we've stayed at. The pads were a little cramped but were paved, level pretty well maintained. The staff was incredibly nice, maybe too nice. We stayed here on a crowded weekend and the place was completely booked. When we arrived we were assigned our spot and at checkout time the previous customer was still there and in no hurry to leave. We waited about 45 minutes for them to leave and they didn't really hurry until I said something to them - I kept waiting for the staff to do so, but they didn't seem to care that I was parked in waiting. Overall a great trip, and a nice park - it could have been better if the staff had been more attentive to their checkout times. We camped at St Augustine Beach KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Carlsbad RV Park and Campground, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park near the caverns and the town of Carlsbad. The staff was great and the kids absolutely loved the clean, indoor pool. The lot was plenty big. Lots of gravel, not too much shade or grass. Wi-Fi signal was good, cable was an "extra." We'd stay here again. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Oakwood RV Resort, Fredericksburg, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This was a great place. We stayed there for 3 nights during the central Texas Food and Wine Fest and found the place to be very well kept and the staff extremely nice and helpful. The location was just right, not in the middle of town but close enough that we could see Fredericksburg and enjoy the area without being in the car for long. The cable TV signal was weak at best but we're not big TV watchers. We camped at Oakwood RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
