Silver Creek Campground, Mount Hermon, Louisiana

Date of Stay: May, 2009 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Our first time at this park was Mothers Day Weekend. Saturday was a day of planned activities, which we participated in and had the time of our life. Later that night they had a DJ and karaoke. The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome and made sure our stay was one to remember. We are not only planning to go back, but want to bring all our camping friends. Great fun for ATV'S and Golf Carts. Sites are well spaced and level. Lots for kids and adults to do. We camped at Silver Creek Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Bayou Segnette State Park, Westwego, Louisiana

Date of Stay: May, 2008 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is in very good shape, since Katrina. You can even wash clothes for free, which was great. The problem with this park is the gates are locked at night which means you are stuck with whatever rift raff that is staying in the park. The park rangers patrol until they get off at 9:00 pm, then the park is locked and they are gone. We had an ice chest full of ice and drinks stolen right from underneath our camper. This happened to us before. I believe we should be protected while we are sleeping also. I hope whoever stole my good 5 day ice chest, that I can no longer find in stores is happy. We camped at Bayou Segnette State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Wonderful place for kids, plenty of activities on weekends. Very clean and peaceful. Park ranger a little uptight about parking on grass, even a blade or two. Small campground but will visit again. We camped at Tickfaw State Park in a Travel Trailer.
