Jefferson County Fairgrounds, Golden, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Location, location. Finding a spot in the Denver area is very hard. This park is near I70 and U.S. 6. Easy to get to most attractions. Tight spaces and a lot of turnover. Very nice picnic area and playground. Odd requirements to register. You must show proof of ins. and regist. for all vehicles. There are gravel pull throughs long enough for most rvs and nearby tow vehicle parking. A downside is little physical security. Park is open at night with no gate. Sheriff patrols occasionally. We had no problems but would have preferred more controls. Limited 50A sites. We would stay here again. We camped at Jefferson County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Blueberry Pond Campground, Pownal, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

A pretty, quiet, family owned park. Beautiful location in the woods, Owners were pleasant and helpful. An easy drive to Freeport and the LL Bean stores. There are not many frills here but we would stay here again becuse of the above. Its in mosquito country so bug spray is a necessity. We camped at Blueberry Pond Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Adventures East Campground & Cottages, Baddeck, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

The park is greatly improved from the earlier reviews. Sites were gravel, level and most were shaded. The owner is exceptionally interested in being helpful, he found a really good site for us, gave us hints on how best to see the Cabot trail, find celtic music, and good dining. We would happily stay here again. We camped at Adventures East Campground & Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.

Halifax West KOA, Upper Sackville, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We spent two weeks here, using it as a base to explore Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. This is a family friendly CG. Many things for kids to do and many kids on weekends, If you don't like young kids around this is not for you. This is a good central location to tour from. But, the general maintenance and cleanliness were barely sufficient. Three washers and two driers were out of order for the whole two weeks. The owner didn't seem particularly concerned, possibly because most guests seem to be there for just a couple of days. The trash dump was messy and not kept clean. Having said that we might well stay there again but be more picky about the site. We camped at Halifax West KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Niagara Hartland RV Resort, Gasport, New York

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice, older park with very nice and helpful owners. The sites are gravel pull throughs with full hookups. It is about an hour from Niagara Falls and the erie canal but an easy drive. The restrooms are not up to modern standards, i.e. no doors on the toilets, just a partial shower curtain at the showers (men's). The laundry facility had 4 washers and 4 driers but the spin cycle on two of the washers was ineffective so drying took double the time and expense. It is easy going and has about 50-70% long term residents but most were in good shape. We would stay here again. We camped at Niagara Hartland RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The Great Outdoors Family Campground - formerly Mallards Landing, Linesville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This campground can be described as "rustic". 95% of the sites were occupied by long term residents and not well maintained. The staff was pleasant and helpful but the facility left a bit to be desired. There was not perimeter fencing so we were open to anyone driving by. The sites were grass with some gravel. There were new 50A pedestals but the were no circuit breakers on the pedestal. I was very nervous about disconnecting 50A in the rain with no circuit breaker. Fortunately an electrician appeared working on the park and shut everything off so that problem went away. We were less than comfortable in terms of feeling secure. No evidence...just a feeling. There were no problems and we departed next AM but we would probably not stay there again. We camped at The Great Outdoors Family Campground - formerly Mallards Landing in a Fifth Wheel.

nice all grass areas. Spacious sites. At least 30 yds between sites, Propane refill on site. We came in after hours and not only did they give us our military discount but put the cash in an envelope for us {we'd paid by credit card before they saw e were military}. Very pleasant staff. Oasis RV Park and Travel Lodge (Military FAMCAMP), Barstow, California

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Overpriced for what you get. sites are adequate but not well-kept up. Abandoned TV dish was lying in the weeds at our site, other trash was around. Homesteaders do not seem to be required to keep their sites clean and uncluttered. Office staff though polite, did not have base map available nor did they offer information about the base. This site's attraction is location, period. We camped at Oasis RV Park and Travel Lodge (Military FAMCAMP) in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Nice site. We visited in the "off" season and the park was still crowded. Take a day or two to do the south rim roads. The only fuel in the park at the east park exit. It is about 80 miles from Williams AZ to the park so gas up. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.
