Antelope Valley RV Park, Delta, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

A nice park, backs up to ag fields. Fronts on US50. Pleasant, helpful staff. Some train horn noise at night but not too bad. For some reason the water connections are mostly in the rv parking area rather than to the side. This means one has to be very careful when backing into the site and to use the whole width the connections may under or nearly under the rig. Also the septic connections are mostly a few inches above the ground so the last few feet of hose may slope upward. Having said that, the park is clean, convenient and a good stop. We camped at Antelope Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fallon RV Park (Military FamCamp), Fallon, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

A functional basic no frills camp. When we arrived we went to what we assumed was the office we found a paper taped to the window telling those with reservations to check in at the Navy lodge bldg 356. There was no map attached to help us find it. When we got there a very polite young man told us that, despite our confirmed reservation on a new national Reservation Center phone number there was no space (there were empty sites) and we had been moved to overflow. Ok, but no one in the office knew where overflow was or whether it would be dry camping. We found the overflow between the rv camp and the driving range. The sites were numbered and- surprise - had water and power. We pulled in and another camper walked over to tell us he had a similar experience, he too had a confirmed reservation with the new national site (for a month stay) that was not honored, and was sent to overflow- for a month - he was able somehow to get his site in the main camp. He also pointed out that there was a sewer hookup under a clump of weeds. So, overflow has FHU, don't trust the national Reservation site and check in at the Navy lodge. We camped at Fallon RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Travis AFB FamCamp (Military FamCamp), Travis AFB, California

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for a week. The famcamp is mixed. Some sites, mainly in the no pets section are very nice, others (where we were) are pretty barren- no shade. The site maintenance is mixed, at least two sites have faulty circuit breakers, they trip at least once a minute (we learned our site (46) was one of the two). On the plus side the price is right, exchange and commissary are just blocks away diesel is available, laundry and bathrooms are clean and functional. We'd stay there again but would certainly try for the better sites behind the office. We camped at Travis AFB FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

A major plus is the rv wash facility at the car wash just a block away. Tall walkways on both sides, $10 will do the whole rv. See the jelly belly factory, take the tour. Travis is a good space-a base

Riverside RV Park, Brookings, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

A thoroughly pleasant park. Its small and about 1/3 of the sites are filled with longterm residents. The best thing about the park is the extremely pleasant and knowledgeable staff. The park is right by the Chetco river and has a large grassy, treed area with benches, horseshoes, and a walkway right overlooking the river. We spent some time sitting in a comfortable glider watching the Pelicans dive for fish and the gulls attempt to steal the catch. The host sent us to a redwood grove one wouldn.t find without help. it was beautiful. Brookings is convenient to the Calif. Redwood parks without being in Calif. She also directed us to a good pizza place and a fun, challenging golf course. The long term residents were fun, happy and welcoming, we even were given fresh rockfish cooked to perfection. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Riverside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Netarts Bay Garden RV Resort, Tillamook, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small out of the way park. We used it as a base to explore from Astoria to Tillamook for several days and it was just the ticket. Staff were helpful, pleasant and available. One small problem, one of the two washers in the convenient and clean laundry was not working, some doing more than one load was a little inconvenient. Nevertheless we'd stay there again except for the extremely tight spaces. Never been in a park where we were so crowded next to our neighbors. Sites are not all in rows and when we parked our tow vehicle it was less than 3 feet from the living room window of the Airstream next to us. Our other neighbor's tow vehicle was within 2-3 feet of our living room. That meant the curtains were closed all the time. Some sites were better but ours was just too tight. Except for that we'd gladly stay there again. We camped at Netarts Bay Garden RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Columbia Sun RV Resort, Kennewick, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here twice within a two week period. The park is pristine, the staff extremely friendly and efficient, good spacing, level sites, a very nice store. Pricey but with Passport America it came to about $26. We recommend it highly and will stay here again if in the area. Note: 80PSI water so use a regulator! We camped at Columbia Sun RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
