Orr's Island Campground (Closed), Orr's Island, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Our actual stay was from June 28, 2014 and then we liked it so much, we added week after week after week until August 9th! This year, we are staying for the entire season, Mid May through October, it was that good!

50 Amp power, good water, high and dry site, neat lawns and a pathway to the pebble beach. This campground is shifting toward seasonal rates, but there still may be some monthly sites available. We camped at Orr's Island Campground (Closed) in a Motorhome.

Phoenix RV Park, Salem, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a clean and friendly RV park near everything you need in town. The lots are a bit narrow, but we are parked in a 36' unit with slides and very comfortable. This is a very quiet park away from traffic noise. There is cable, but our dome satellite works and that's better. We camped at Phoenix RV Park in a Motorhome.

Oregon Trail Campground, Twin Falls, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Rough curb concrete edges to drive over. We stayed on a level lot with no shade tree. Easy in and easy out with quick access to town. We camped at Oregon Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

Golden Spike RV Park, Brigham City, Utah

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice park, a bit tight on turning with concrete street light pillars in the way, but we managed. We would certainly stay here again. We camped at Golden Spike RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Lookout RV Park, Pendleton, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

I should have read the reviews! It's hot weather time and sitting on blacktop is a poor deal. The view is of container pods for rent! Surely, there must be a more pleasant RV park in this area! Blacktop pavement everywhere and crushed asphalt in a concrete curb for hookups and lot dividers. Bring an extra long sewer hose and if you are towing, only a few lots can accommodate your length. Road noise from the interstate and the railroad. A desperate choice to park overnight. We camped at The Lookout RV Park in a Motorhome.

Dakota Campground and Birco RV Parts and Service, Walsenburg, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This was a one night stop for us. The hosts were friendly and the site provided a quiet night's sleep. There are no top notch attractions nearby so I cannot rate this campground with an extended stay in mind. It is dry and dusty here, but that is quite likely normal for southeast Colorado. We camped at Dakota Campground and Birco RV Parts and Service in a Motorhome.

Canon City RV Campground, Canon City, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We used this campground while waiting for service at the next door RV service center. It was adequate for our needs with water and electric and a place to park, but that was about it. The Wi-Fi worked intermittently, cutting out every few minutes, but restored itself each time. This was a regular occurrence on two different computers. While hooking up, be careful where you step as there is plenty of dog waste on the ground. There are many shoddy cluttered occupants on the grounds and most all of the sewer hook-ups are occupied by those full-timers. I definitely do not recommend this place for an extended vacation stay. We camped at Canon City RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Durango Year Round RV Park, Durango, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at Durango RV park for four different summer vacations from 2001 to 2010, and it's always good to return to a safe familiar place. It's like our home away from home. We tow our Jeep and take full advantage of the trails and views within our daily range. We have enjoyed the scenery on US-550 dozens of times to Silverton and Ouray and if you're really brave, don't miss the Alpine loop. If you're really really brave, test your Jeep's endurance and driving skills from Telluride over Imogene Pass to Ouray. Enjoy the scenic trails in LaPlata Canyon. Visit the Telluride hydro plant and the Ames or Ouray hydro plants. At the end of the day, have dinner at the Silverton Brown Bear or the dozens of restaurants in Durango. Durango RV Park has lots with trees and shade and a mountain view where you can see the weather conditions all the way to Engineer Mountain. Your camp site is a private and quiet place where you can enjoy your lawn chairs with no bugs and no smoke from campfires. Enjoy the hummingbirds, flowers, farm, mining and industrial antiques at an old-iron lover's paradise. Easy access to shopping at Aztec, Farmington, Cortez, Durango, Bayfield or Ignatio. It's in the middle of it all with low monthly rates, friendly hosts, an easy path to DirecTV or Dish Network, DSL phone connections, laundry and mail. If you are into skiing or other winter fun, they are open all year. We camped at Durango Year Round RV Park in a Motorhome.
