Basswood Resort, Platte City, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

We will never go back to this park. The driveway entrance is the steepest we have ever seen. Our 45' motorhome became lodged in the incline as we tried to enter. We left a deep gouge in the pavement. Once inside, management refused to trim trees so we could get to our site without scraping tree limbs. They acted as though they could not have cared less. We have been RVing for over 40 years & in a motorhome for 10 yrs. Our pavement gouge was one of dozens left by many others! We left without staying. We camped at Basswood Resort in a Motorhome.

Whittington Woods Campground, Whittington, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Nice setting under high well trimmed trees. We received fresh eggs and garden fresh radishes when we arrived. They must have 50 chickens, no rooster to keep you awake, though. The down side is you can hear highway noise. We would camp here again. Our RV is very tall and we felt comfortable being able to maneuver without the worry of low branches. We camped at Whittington Woods Campground in a Motorhome.

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Lake Buena Vista, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this park. We did not need their WiFi nor their restrooms so this area, where people lowered the rating, were not a problem for us. We loved the trails to ride your bike or walk and the huge trees that were well trimmed. We saw deer several times. It was pricey, but then everything in Disney is expensive. We will definitely come back here. We are in a 45'mh and pull a full size truck. We are 13.6 feet tall and we had a challenge getting under the check in building, so beware. This area is also very narrow and we heard that people have lost their mirrors here also. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Bluewater Key RV Resort, Key West, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $99.00
Overall Rating:

The camp hosts were wonderful and very helpful. This is a beautiful park. We were put on a bay spot (pull in) and then moved to be able to stay for 2 extra nights, to a canal spot (back in) which was less money. We paid $110 and then $75. Would highly recommend this park. It is pricey, but beautiful. Close to Key West. It was a tight fit on one of the lots due to palm fronds, but the host trimmed them so we could fit our 45 footer into the site. We camped at Bluewater Key RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Goldcoaster RV Resort, Homestead, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Getting into the gate is tight, very narrow. They had to open up the gate more so we could get our 45 footer and tow vehicle through. 95% of the park are mobile homes. Ok place to stay if sightseeing around the Everglades. We camped at Goldcoaster RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Cypress Woods RV Resort, Fort Myers, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Nice clean park. Extra large lots. Wide streets. We had a coupon for one free night on a three night stay. Has some permanent mobile homes, but other parks closer to the beach were mostly mobile homes with a few RV's mingled between them. Rating an 8 due to mobile homes and away from beaches. We would stay here again. We camped at Cypress Woods RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Park staff friendly and helpful. They have a small, but beautiful white sand beach and a Tiki deck that is a wonderful gathering area. The sites are generous. We would stay here again. You have to pay for the Internet at this park. We camped at Emerald Beach RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pontchartrain Landing, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

The staff was friendly and helpful. We asked to be parked by the water and they were able to accommodate us with our request. The site was a bit tight as we have 4 slides and tow a full size pick up. We had to manipulate the motorhome to get the truck to fit. The on site bar was a nice gathering spot and they serve pizza and hot wings. We would stay here again. The roads are gravel. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Motorhome.
