Liberty Harbor RV Park, Jersey City, New Jersey

Date of Stay: November, 2014 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

While this is a parking lot with water and electric, for the location, it is impossible to beat. You have multiple options for public transport to NYC, arriving at the World Trade Center. You have access to the NPS Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty ferries on the New Jersey side, way less crowded than the NYC side and all the same access. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I read the reviews from a few years back and was a bit concerned, however, no issues at all. One note, the night club that is adjacent to the park was closed for the winter, so cannot comment on that. We camped at Liberty Harbor RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Walk to the NY Waterway Ferry to NYC at the foot of Essex Street. Runs every 15 minutes and goes right to the World Trade Center. Walk to Liberty Park, NJ to take the NPS Ferry to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty, way less crowded than the Ferry from the NYC side.

Imagination Mountain Camp-Resort (formerly Great Smoky Jellystone Camp, Cosby, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice RV park, clean and well-maintained. We were in a site that was along a stream that runs through the park. We were in site 25, which is a bit too close to the highway, the highway noise was not bad late in the evening, but noticable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only drawback was the lack of hot water in the showers and restrooms. The water was lukewarm at best, this could be improved. We camped at Imagination Mountain Camp-Resort (formerly Great Smoky Jellystone Camp in a Motorhome.

Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground, Swannanoa, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

One of the cleanest and well-maintained RV parks that I've stayed in. I would highly recommend this park. The only caution is that the RV sites are on the side of a hill and may be a bit challenging for some operators to negotiate. The sites themselves are level and surfaced with gravel. We camped at Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground in a Motorhome.

Hungry Mother State Park, Marion, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a fairly typical State Park, clean but not the greatest. The restroom and showers showed their age, but were reasonably clean and serviceable. There are several loops, the one we stayed in (A, close to the park restaurant) had electric. The park restaurant is very nice and there is a large sand beach. There are very nice park facilities. We camped at Hungry Mother State Park in a Motorhome.
