Lake Fort Smith State Park, Mountainburg, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely park. The sites are nicely spaced and utilize the natural environment. They mark every site with a clear sign reserved or available. The staff was very helpful on the phone. Facilities appear to be new. Leaves were beautiful this time of year. It was very quiet. Suggest getting there before dark as the drive up the mountain requires focus. We camped at Lake Fort Smith State Park in a Motorhome.

Modesto Reservoir, Waterford, California

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is off the beaten path . It was almost deserted this time of year. The reservoir makes the setting quite lovely. You can sit close to the water and watch the ibis try to catch fish. The weekend brings local families and fishermen. It is quite dusty but if you want a break from the crowds this is it. We camped at Modesto Reservoir in a Motorhome.

Amarillo Ranch RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

The sites here are large, and that was very nice. They show you to your, site which is always helpful. If you are bothered by traffic noise from the highway, it is constant. I was very surprised that their indoor pool, sauna, and spa closed at the same time as the office which was 7 PM. No where on their web site did they give hours for these facilities. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.
