Dolores River Campground, Dolores, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

One of the prettiest campgrounds we have stayed in. Lots of shade! Some sites are along the river. Some are near one of the two large ponds on the property. Extremely clean & well maintained. Service was outstanding. Food trucks came into the park two nights of week for those wishing to partake. Ice cream social every week. Very nice, large clubhouse for cards/TV/games etc. A slab patio at each site. Hookups were fine. A bit buggy with flies and skeeters. 10 mile drive into town for goods & services. Poor internet whether using the campground's service or private Verizon. Poor phone reception as well. Library in Dolores as a good connection. We camped at Dolores River Campground in a Motorhome.

Gunnison KOA, Gunnison, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Ok for a quick overnight stay. All sites on on the grass. It rained when we were there & I'm glad we didn't stay longer as the ground was pretty soggy pulling in & out. Crowded & close to your neighbors. No amenities. Drive in to town for goods & services. Some airplane noise at night. We camped at Gunnison KOA in a Motorhome.

Fort Collins/ Poudre Canyon KOA, LaPorte, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are terraced into a hill. If you pull up on the slab you will be level, although your patio & picnic table are close to your neighbor & their connections. Clean. Staff was helpful when asked for anything. Nice pool for the kids. Hookups were fine. Outside of town so it is a drive for goods or services. Silly rule about visitors. They are charged $5 for pulling into the property even if they do not they use any facilities. If you have friends or family in the area, arrange to meet them elsewhere. We camped at Fort Collins/ Poudre Canyon KOA in a Motorhome.

Vernal / Dinosaurland KOA, Vernal, Utah

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

This was a great stop to explore nearby Dinosaur National Monument. Our grand daughter especially enjoyed the crystal clean swimming pool. Our dog enjoyed the K-9 Camp and small agility course. Service was excellent with a nice camp store & an escort to our site. Yes, shade would have been nice, but the sites were grassy & the hookups efficient. We camped at Vernal / Dinosaurland KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Pine Forest RV Park , Dutch John, Utah

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

This place is a jewel tucked away in beautiful Flaming Gorge, yet conveniently located just off of Hwy 191. As previous reviewers have commented the grassy sites are meticulously maintained and the customer service is excellent. Take whatever you need as most services are about an hour away in either in Rock Springs or Vernal. Our site required some minor leveling. The hookups were convenient and efficient. While boating & fishing seem to be the most popular pass times, we enjoyed the beautiful vistas and relaxing atmosphere. Far from city lights, the star gazing was extraordinary. We camped at Pine Forest RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wagon Wheel Campground & Cabins, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Let's start by saying it was peak summer season in Yellowstone and our trip was pretty last minute. After calling several other places that were full, this one had openings. Overpriced for what you get, they can command such prices this time of year. An older park, right on the edge of town, it is scruffy at best. The sites are very small & very close together. Our 26 foot motor home was given a 28 foot back in space and we still had to move it forward (after hooking up) when the site behind us needed to accommodate someone with a rear slide. No pool, no playground, no camp store, this price reflected full hookup & nothing else. The laundry room was adequate. Perhaps the best features were the shade trees and proximity to the west gate of Yellowstone. Evening entertainment consisted of watching big rigs arrive and try to get into their sites with taking out their neighbor's rigs or cars. We won't be back. We camped at Wagon Wheel Campground & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Dubois Wind River KOA, Dubois, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

A day's drive from Yellowstone, this is a busy park during the summer season. We were escorted to our site and mistaking our rig for a rental, the kind gentleman even came back and added a water regulator to our hose connection. (Not sure we needed one, but it was very nice of him to go the extra mile). The park backs up to the Wind River. It was clean, the hookups were convenient. There is an indoor pool & game room for the kids. The layout was a little funky and there was quite of bit of cutting thru sites to get to the main building. Shops & restaurants within walking distance. Great pie at the Cowboy Cafe! We would certainly return if in the area again. We camped at Dubois Wind River KOA in a Motorhome.

Casper KOA, Bar Nunn, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This is the second time we have stayed here and we would definitely come back again. Considering the entire campground is gravel, it is surprisingly nice. Very clean, with a small shade tree at each site, there is a covered swimming pool & a nice laundry facility. The office staff was friendly. The hookups were fine, although you will need a long sewer hose as the connection is quite a bit forward from the water and electric. This is located outside of Casper so it is a drive for goods & services. Check out The Hanger restaurant behind the park. Fun decor & a great breakfast. We camped at Casper KOA in a Motorhome.

Eagle's Rest RV Park & Camping, Chadron, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This was a quick overnight stop when we were traveling. Management was very helpful. While this is an older park, and a little rough, it was clean and the hookups were convenient. There are not many options in the area and this place was as good as any. Do shake down anything you put outside. This is sand hill country & there are lots of ants. We camped at Eagle's Rest RV Park & Camping in a Motorhome.

Scenic Park Campground, South Sioux City, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This was a quick overnight stop for us. We would stay there again and/or spend more time if we were actually visiting this area. I would advise supervising children closely as this is a city park, right in town with open access. No restaurants or grocery stores within walking distance. There was a pretty view along the river. Some long term residents. Sites were clean, management helpful & the hookups were efficient. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Motorhome.

El Reno West KOA, El Reno, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a convenient overnight stop right off of the interstate. Spaces are close. All hookups worked. The office staff was friendly. Nice restaurant & gift shop near by. If you have kids there are some activities for them, although the pool was closed when we were there. We would make a brief stop here again. We camped at El Reno West KOA in a Motorhome.

Lazy Acres RV Park, Center Point, Iowa

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

A hidden gem, this park is conveniently located just off of I-380, yet it is surprisingly isolated. Sites are gravel pull thru with beautiful large grassy areas, fire pit & a picnic table. Quiet during the week with lots of families on the weekends. Splash pad, mini golf, fishing/paddleboat pond, playground, frisbee golf. Owners/Office staff were welcoming. Hookups all worked. A 20 min. drive Cedar Rapids, there is a Dollar Store in Urbana & a grocery store in Center Point. Check out Jonesy's in Center Point for a great Iowa tenderlion. We camped at Lazy Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a clean park with nice pull thru sites. The office staff was competent. There are nice activities for children on the weekends. All of the hookups worked. Still quite a drive (20 miles?) into Des Moines. There is a closer grocery store in Adel. We camped at Des Moines West KOA in a Motorhome.
