Wolf Lodge Campground, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Check in very easy, fun people in the office. The managers are simply special. They worked very hard to get a pull through site for our big rig. Since they were booked solid we had 1 night with water/electric and through shuffling, we had full hook up for the next 6 nights. Park has new owners and their crew, working 10 - 12 hours a days, are improving the property. There were many children here who had a lot of play area and equipment to use. There is a large fenced dog area. This is a rustic setting and is just what we look for. The entry is tight as reported by others but there is a warning sign to swing wide. We are 60 feet long with tow and cleared nicely plus a longer rig followed us in. The negatives reviews are unwarranted. Ours was a pleasant stay and would return again. We camped at Wolf Lodge Campground in a Motorhome.

New Frontier RV Park, Winnemucca, Nevada

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Passport America members beware! Will not honor Passport America on pull-through sites, only back-in. I am not going to back in our 40 ft. Rig + tow dolly. Passport America directory does not mention this and office said directory was wrong. Office personnel pleasant but bound by owners. Used Good Sam and stayed one night. Other than that surprise, it is a new, clean park, easy in/easy out. Small trees will provide shade in about 10 years. Pull-through sites wide and long, gravel everywhere including fenced dog area. Would not stay again unless we were desperate. We camped at New Frontier RV Park in a Motorhome.

Burns RV Park, Burns, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Great reception, making reservation and checking in. Pull-through for big rig very long and wide. Easy in/easy out. This is a small park that is well maintained and quiet. Utilities well located and safe. Large field at back for dogs but watch out for swarms of mosquitoes at dusk. Perfect overnight stop to rest. We camped at Burns RV Park in a Motorhome.

Coachland RV Park, Truckee, California

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Due to a problem with our tow dolly, we checked in without reservation for 2 nights. Office staff very friendly and helpful. Assigned a decent length pull thru site for our big rig with easy to connect utilities, including cable with a huge number of channels. Setting is beautiful with lots of trees, so satellite would not connect anyway. Park is pricey even with GS but we would recommend and would stay again. We camped at Coachland RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Historic downtown Truckee was a fun bonus for an otherwise unscheduled stop. Marty's Cafe serves big, delicious meals with friendly service.

As an aside, our tow dolly was towed to Stone Tire, less than 1 mile away. We got 2 new tires and new rim in 2 hours at a fair price. Plus they returned it to our site. Definitely recommend Bob Stone's store.

Seligman Route 66 KOA, Seligman, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The only thing typical of KOA was the price - over priced. Lady in office very nice and helpful. Utilities worked fine, but no cable. Gravel is sparse so there is dust blowing around. There are very few trees for shade and none for big rig sites. There is no landscaping save some small native desert plants here and there. Most trains are barely noticeable, but some rumble right through the leveler pads and there are many of them day and night. The tracks were right in front of our coach. We have stayed at much nicer parks across the country for much less and cable included. Not likely we would stay here again. We camped at Seligman Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

Sky City RV Park, Acoma, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Not pretty but easy access, easy in/easy out and quiet. WiFi slow but all Verizon goodies worked good. This park does have cable with 24 clear channels. Shuttle to/from casino very prompt and courteous. Casino restaurant reasonably priced and very good food. Good choice for an overnight after along day of driving. A bargain at $18 + tax. Would stay again. We camped at Sky City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Onapa RV Park and Campground, Checotah, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Our kind of RV park: Beautiful setting, easy in/easy out, close to interstate, clean and quiet. Long, wide pull through easily accommodated our big rig plus tow. The young owners have obviously worked hard to make this into a great overnight or longer destination. Almost felt badly using PPA. Word getting out, they were full. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Onapa RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Florida Springs RV Resort and Campgrounds, Bonifay, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This is our kind of park. Not fancy, beautiful setting, easy in/easy out. Sites are long and wide so our big rig with tow fit easily into space. Only about 1/2 mile off I-10 and no noise at all. Did not use laundry or restrooms. Had dessert in cozy, little restaurant, delicious home made key lime pie and lemon cheese cake. The managers and owners are very, very busy working on the property and offering any service you may need. They are so friendly and helpful, it makes you want to support their park. We wish we had time to stay longer and relax, but would definitely stay again. We camped at Florida Springs RV Resort and Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Gulf Haven RV Resort (formerly Gulf Haven Campground), Gulfport, Mississippi

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Had to laugh when we arrived after reading only other review. Must have been written by owner. This is not a 10 but is a perfectly adequate park. It's all gravel with no shade and minimal landscaping. To be fair, this was a mobile home park destroyed by Katrina so it will likely look better with time. While we had a pull through for our big rig in a wide space, we had to lower car off tow dolly to fit - which we would have done anyway to tour area. There was room next to coach to park vehicle. Utilities located in nice, modern pedestal. Park is located right across highway from beautiful white sand beaches and only 10 miles to Biloxi. Pet area is not usable yet, if ever. The managers who checked us are absolutely delightful. Very friendly and helpful. Husband directed us to site. Overall park had all we need; clean, quiet and well located. We would stay here again any time. We camped at Gulf Haven RV Resort (formerly Gulf Haven Campground) in a Motorhome.

Treetops RV Resort, Arlington, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Not sure why all the high ratings. This is just an OK park. Check in was forced friendly but efficient. Interior roads tight for big rigs and bumpy, broken asphalt. Had to try twice to get our 40 footer with tow into the so called pull through and with help from the office staff. The whole place is not particularly well maintained but it was quiet and located near friends we were visiting. It's pricey for what we got. We would look elsewhere when in the Ft. Worth area. We camped at Treetops RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Riverside RV Resort & Campground, Bartlesville, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 6 nights here while visiting friends. It's not a resort but had everything we look for. It is clean, quiet, easy in//easy out, and close to things we want to visit. We don't use resort facilities anyway and are fully self contained. Backing our big rig was a snap into a very wide, long space - one try!. Managers are the nicest and most helpful of any place we have ever stayed. New owners spending time and money to clean up and improve. Price listed is average of GS and PPA, 3 nights each. This is a bargain and would stay again gladly. We camped at Riverside RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Fairgrounds RV Park, Prescott, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2012 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 3 nights in a huge, wide space with all connections perfectly placed for our 40 footer plus tow vehicle. Manager was very friendly and helpful. The site is gravel with no trees but everything was spotless and quiet. We were visiting the City of Prescott so we had to drive about 15 minutes, perfectly acceptable for this great RV park. We camped at Fairgrounds RV Park in a Motorhome.

Colorado River RV Park, Bastrop, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2011 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Seems like the park is in the middle of nowhere but was reasonably along our route to try it. At the PA rate, it was worth the stop. Check-in was easy and friendly. We were guided to our site. The sites and roads are gravel, dirt and probably a mess in the rain but was dry for our stay. Our site was level so we did not have to put down the levelers. Small amount of traffic on FM 969 but not intrusive. This was a good stop for us for an overnight. We would stay here again. We camped at Colorado River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Comanche Land RV Park (closed), Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2011 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

We don't need the amenities of fancy parks on this trip so this park was great for an overnight. It's right off the freeway. In fact, you can see the traffic but it was not noisy. The site was wide and easy in/out. It's just a gravel parking lot but we did not have to level - site was level. At the PA rate, this park should not be bypassed. Owner was very nice and accommodating. We would stay here again. We camped at Comanche Land RV Park (closed) in a Motorhome.

LoW-Hi RV Ranch, Deming, New Mexico

Date of Stay: December, 2011 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice people at check-in although kind of slow. Unless you have something to do in this area it's way off the freeway. But for the rate it was worth the drive. The sites are decent and wide with utilities convenient for hook up. This was a good stop for an overnight. We camped at LoW-Hi RV Ranch in a Motorhome.
