Camp Ocean Forest, Emerald Isle, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $78.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived late one evening. We couldn't back into our site as there were cars and trucks blocking the way. The 50 amp wasn't working, so we had to run our generator all night for the air conditioner (95 degree weekend). Called the office first thing in the morning and they said the "electrician" wouldn't be in until 11am. He came and replaced the breaker. At check-in we asked if we could get any discount for the inconvenience and were told we could take $5 off our bill. Jeez! This was our second stay at this park. We came back because the location is perfect for our family...right on the beach, but we won't be coming back again. It's just too much of a headache to deal with the inconveniences during both of our stays! We camped at Camp Ocean Forest in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a low-key beach town. Not as "touristy" as a lot of locations. The beach isn't crowded, and there are just enough amenities in the town. There is mini-golf nearby, grocery store and fish market. Would be a great place if the park were managed better!

Camp Ocean Forest, Emerald Isle, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $78.00
Overall Rating:

The hosts weren't overly friendly, but the ocean-front spots couldn't be beat!! There are a LOT of permanent folks, but everyone we met there was really nice! We did have to book a minimum of 5 nights for the ocean-front site, even though we could only stay 3, but the park was full, so it was worth it! The bathrooms/showers were clean, but needed a little "spiffing" up...great for washing off the sand before we headed back to the rig for our full-on showers. Would most definitely stay here again. We camped at Camp Ocean Forest in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Eat at Rucker John's...great food! And take in some mini golf...2 courses to choose from...one really close. And the ice cream at the Sweet Spot was marvelous! And the pier is right there if you're a fisherman...or just like to take a look at the ocean...no charge to get on the pier...a nice surprise!

Anaheim RV Park, Anaheim, California

Date of Stay: December, 2010 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful clean park with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Sites are wide and paved with a nice grass area next to each site. Restrooms and showers were the cleanest we have seen in any RV park. Swimming pool and hot tub are newly refinished and kept exceptionally clean. We were a little hesitant to stay in a park in a "city" atmosphere, but I must say, you really couldn't tell. The park is quiet with lots of grass and trees. Our reason for traveling to southern California was to visit Disneyland and California Adventure, and this park turned out to be the perfect choice. Walking distance to the parks on days we wanted to walk and a shuttle on the days we didn't want to walk. Plenty of dining and shopping options within 1 mile. We had a wonderful and relaxing stay and have already made plans to visit this park again later this year. We camped at Anaheim RV Park in a Motorhome.

OK RV Park, Holbrook, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Nice quiet campground well off I-40 but still conveniently located. Front office staff was very friendly with nice selection of odds and ends you may need, plus they serve complimentary muffins and coffee each morning. If you are looking for an EXCELLENT dinner, be sure to ask for directions to Bubba's Big Pig Bar-Ba-Que, you will not be disappointed. Also, be sure to check out downtown Holbrook if you want to see how Route 66 must have been back in it's heyday. We camped at OK RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pontchartrain Landing, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent choice of parks to visit New Orleans. Park is off the "beaten" path in East New Orleans but don't let the industrial area scare you away. The park staff is extremely nice and helpful offering the only bar / lounge of any RV park we have stayed at. The park also offers a daily free shuttle (please tip the drivers) directly to the French Quarter. Last shuttle runs at 8pm so if you're going to be late seeing the sites, cab fare is less than $20 to get you back to the park. The co-owner is on-site daily. We'll definitely stay here again while in New Orleans. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Motorhome.
