Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2011 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access to interstate. Sites are long but close together and they have this odd method of putting coaches door to door which makes it feel even more tight. Internet was very fast. Camping World is within walking distance as is a Freighliner place. Not much to do there unless you love heat and dust in the summertime. OK place for an overnight or two. Place does have some cool nostalgic cars and campers. We camped at Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post in a Motorhome.

OK place for an overnight. Sites are decent size and facilities all worked fine. No shade to speak of so it's very hot and dusty. Nice walking area for dogs. Easy access to interstate. Good place for an overnight visit. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pontchartrain Landing, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2011 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are easy access and gravel with very little grass anywhere. The water view is of a channel and mostly warehouses many of which appear to be abandoned. The entire area is industrial. Internet was intermittent, Cable was good. Plus side is that it is close to the attractions of NOLA. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Motorhome.

Old Pavillion RV Park, Perry, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2011 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Very small park on the Gulf. We were there in June they had an enormous amount of sea-grass that had come in and rotting along the shore creating an ungodly smell that caused us to leave after one night. Not much there other than the Gulf. We camped at Old Pavillion RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bass Haven Campground, Defuniak Springs, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park with easy access to Interstate. Very nice people running the place. Lots of seasonal type residents and working residents. Lake is nearly empty and thousands of tree stumps are showing I guess due in part of lack of rain. Restrooms were clean. Good spot for an overnight. We camped at Bass Haven Campground in a Motorhome.

Red Gate Campground & RV Resort, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Got off to a bad start here as they overbooked and tried to move us to a KOA. After balking they found us an overflow spot which has enormous space around it but no sewer or cable and poor satellite. Excellent Wi-Fi however. It's a nice place with mostly just field type sites and no amenities. Free washer and dryer, though, which is nice. Good base to see Savannah area. Would have been happier if they had offered to at least discount the rate given we had no sewer or cable. We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Cherry Hill Park, College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

This is quite the place. Large sites and plenty of them. Many on site amenities including a public transit bus stop right on the grounds! We had site #97 which has plenty of room, and the highway noise was not too bad. The Wi-Fi at the park was awful--intermittent, very slow. But other than that it's a good base for seeing the DC area. We had crab cakes at the little cafe and they were just OK. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Motorhome.

Philadelphia South KOA (formerly Timberlane Campground), Clarksboro, New Jersey

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The place is packed but nice and the sites are big enough so it doesn't feel tight at least in the back section. It's the only decent place we could find while visiting family in the Palmyra NJ area and even then it's a 30 minute drive. Just not many RV parks in this area near Philadelphia. We has site # 62 which had a nice view of a little duck pond. Nothing much to do around this area but if you're visiting family in the Philadelphia (Jersey side) area it's probably your best bet. We camped at Philadelphia South KOA (formerly Timberlane Campground) in a Motorhome.

Very nice place close to attractions. We had good web access most of the time and good cable. Area offers some excellent hiking trails. We liked site #28 the best for overall space and location. We camped at Camping in the Smokies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Creekside Campground, Edinburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice, quaint place run by local people who couldn't be nicer. We were in site #25. Had outstanding web access, steady and fast! Nice hiking trails nearby. Ask one of the guys that runs the place to tell you how to get to Millertown hiking area. It's hard to find but a nice hike. Played golf at Shenvalee: it was awful and way over priced! Getting here is a bit odd as you are driving your coach through a small neighborhood but trust their directions over your GPS. We camped at Creekside Campground in a Motorhome.

Saco River Camping Area, North Conway, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

The only park we've been to that allows parallel parking on the river, awning side facing the water. The view and environment were excellent. Cable TV was ok, unable to get the satellite to work due to trees. Web access was fine. Lots to do in this area with the outlets very close. Excellent hiking trails nearby. We stayed in site #56. We camped at Saco River Camping Area in a Motorhome.

Shore Hills Campground and RV Park, Boothbay, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice park in close proximity to Boothbay Harbor attractions. There is really only one other RV park nearby and the sites there are small and steep. Shore Hills sites were spacious, we stayed in the Deer Run area. Some of the sites even have wooden decks. Outstanding dog friendly hiking trails abound in this area. Overall it was one of our favorite sites during a 30 day trip, would return. We camped at Shore Hills Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.
