Very nice place to stay. We spent a week here while in the birmingham area. Sites are very roomy. Would be a 10 rating except that there are no public showers or restrooms. We camped at Hoover RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park with nice roomy, level sites and friendly staff. Well treed, so there was lots of shade, but no satellite access. Stayed here overnight on our way north. Would stay here again without hesitation. We camped at The Oaks at Point South in a Motorhome.

Erie Islands Resort & Marina, Port Clinton, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $6.00
Overall Rating:

This park is part of the ROD membership system. While the entrance makes a good first impression, the ranger at the check-in station was rude and had their car parked in a spot that made pulling over to check in very difficult. The campsite roads were in poor shape and the campsites were not very well maintained. There are a lot of untidy seasonal sites there which give the campground a very cluttered appearance. Would not stay here again. We camped at Erie Islands Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

Camp Lakewood Campground & RV Park, Effingham, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the sites were easy to access even for big rigs. The interior roads are gravel but in very good condition and the sites are large and level. Access from the highway is easy and the pull throughs are long, making this an excellent place to stop when in the area. We camped at Camp Lakewood Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed 2 nites in a 40' motorhome with a tow. We found the site adequate for size. We were able to get our satellite. Restrooms, shower, and laundry area were clean and bright. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Propane was only $.99/gal with a 15 gal max. with your stay. Only 3 miles from a super Wal-Mart and Home Depot. We camped at Kansas City East Trailside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sun & Fun RV Park, Tulare, California

Date of Stay: March, 2006 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

How this park ever got ratings in the 8's and 9's in the campground directory will forever remain a mystery to me. There was a constant smell of sewers, streets in the park are very narrow, combined with the fact that most people have to park their vehicle in the street while camped there made navigating a big rig very tight. They only have two sites that can handle anything over 38', and all of their sites are VERY close together, so make sure before you go there in a larger rig. Washer/dryers were mostly out of order while we were there. In short, there is no way we would go back there. We camped at Sun & Fun RV Park in a Motorhome.
