Riverbend Campground , Olympia, Washington

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Pulled into this campground off I-5 due to traffic pile up. We arrived at about 2:30 pm, no one at the guard shack where check in is supposed to take place so another guest got us through the so called security gate, ran into the host in the grounds. There were no sites available with sewer hookup so had to settle for water and power only with only 50 and 20 amp available and no cable + wifi was sporadic. Place was in dire need of a good grooming and the services looked to need upgrading. IMHO the place is way over priced at $40.00 USD for what we received for one night. We camped here in a 5th wheel... We camped at Riverbend Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Cocopah Bend RV and Golf Resort, Yuma, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a golfer's dream, if you golf!! The park is very well kept and clean. Service is friendly and cordial. The location is quite far from shopping and groceries. This is a huge park so the dog run was a long way from our site but not bad if you have a golf cart which I rented for 65 per week. Hookups are very inconvenient if you own a 5'er with a rear entrance and if you want to utilize the small concrete patio. Gravel parking. My sewer hookup was 40-50' from my trailer outlet and the water, electric and cable hookups were the same. This forced me to buy an additional 30' of sewer hose, something I was not expecting!! Office would not allow me to back closer to hookups!! Streets between site rows are very narrow so you must be guided in to your site but not out. Lots of seasonal park models here as well. The WIFI was non-existent at our site which forced me on occasion to go to office for signal - very inconvenient in this day and age!! No picnic tables provided. Would not return here with our fifth wheel... We camped at Cocopah Bend RV and Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Walmart has a Food Market on 8th street which is the closest grocery outlet to this park but major shopping and swap meets are on the far east side of town...

Chula Vista RV Resort, Chula Vista, California

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Our stay will be two weeks in total when our time is up. Park is well maintained with much greenery and flowers. Good pool and hot tub setup. Very good get together facilities of which they have regular happy hours and other activities. Amenities all work good as does the wifi setup. (did not use the cable TV outlet due to our own satellite setup) The park is quiet in regards to traffic noise. Far enough away from I-hwy racket. Site size in what they call an "interior deluxe" was just large enough to accommodate our 29' 5'er with truck parked in front. Plenty of room for awning and slide outs. I have two distinct criticisms #1 = the helicopter and jet noise in the afternoon and evening is bearable but for some it's a wicked distraction and this leads to #2 = the cost IMHO is way overboard and please be forewarned if you haven't reserved here like a year in advance forget getting their monthly rate. I had to pay their so called weekly rate and for 2 weeks it ended up being more then their monthly + if you have a dog he will cost you an extra 10 bucks a week + you have to fork over 20 buck deposit per week for electricity. My question at the time was what does my site fees pay for?? Great park to stay at but make sure you bring a good credit card(s) or lots of cash 'cause they sure know how to charge. Would only return if monthly rate is available. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Amarillo Ranch RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

I have to give this park top billing from the level sites to the friendly staff to the handiness of the whole facility to I-40. They even setup transport, free of charge, to and from an excellent BBQ restaurant about a mile from the park. I'll take this park over some of the overpriced, city like parks we've stayed at during this trip. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Twin Fountains RV Park, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean well groomed park. Sites are far to close together. Parking is a breeze even with quite steep grades yet the site itself is very level. Check in was courteous, professional and fun after a long days drive!! Trees should be trimmed higher so as not to rub RV rooves. Any positive perception of this park is soon turn negative with the constant noise from I-44 so prices should reflect this terrible distraction not the exorbitant fee they charge even with the GS discount. Luckily our stay is just one night. We camped at Twin Fountains RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Deer Park Campground, Buffalo, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

It is a nice campground but a little over priced for what is offered. Shower facility is excellent except the shower heads are more to accommodate the vertically challenged. It is very close to town. Some ground grooming could be done i.e.: getting the leaves cleaned up. I would have rated this place higher if not for the camping fee!!... We camped at Deer Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
