Darien Lake Campground, Darien Center, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice campground at the park. We were able to get a season pass holders rate of $35.00 per night which included theme park tickets for 5 people. Excellent rate!! Downfall was that we took a tier 2 rate and the site was very unlevel and a bit of a walk to the park. Bathrooms needed a good cleaning. Campground's pool was taken out to make room for a roller coaster ride. With the campground pool gone campers have to walk through the amusement park to use the wave pool/water rides. A bit of a disappointment since we like to take a relaxing dip before bedtime. We camped at Darien Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Boston / Cape Cod KOA, Middleboro, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this campground because of the location. We stayed for a week and went on day trips to the Cape Cod Sea Shore, Provenance town, Plymouth, Mystic Sea Port, Conn. Newport, Rhode Island. KOA offers a shuttle which will take you to the Commuter train into down town Boston. Bathroom at pool area was in very bad shape. We camped at Boston / Cape Cod KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Stony Brook State Park, Dansville, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2005 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Nice wooded sites. Very clean bathrooms. I was very disappointed that the swimming area at the campground has been closed. The bathhouse is still present and has 4 lovely showers. The campsites are in need of ground maitenance as some trees have fallen and are blocking access to the brook others are in need of trimming as the branches are very low and makes it difficult to back a TT in place. The lower park is free to all campers and offers a unique "natural" swimming pool, new in 2004 playground, great snack/gift shop and lovely trails. We camped at Stony Brook State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Watkins Glen State Park, Watkins Glen, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2005 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Great camp! Excellent pool, both kiddie and olympic size with diving boards. Very clean bath house. Only complaint is that the pool is some distance from the camp sites and the hill down to the pool is very steep and is the main road up to the sites, so I wouldn't recommend that small children ride their bike to the pool. Great Gorge trail which is free to campers. I suggest you walk the trail from the lower entrance and take the shuttle bus back if your hiking with children. We camped at Watkins Glen State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Fair Haven Beach State Park, Fair Haven, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2005 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The site that we had was very shady however it was very unlevel..two feet off to be exact. We went back to the main office to complain however they didn't have another site available that would accommodate our TT. This location has a lovely beach for the kids and I would stay again but only if I was guaranteed a level site. We camped at Fair Haven Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Sugar Creek Glen, Dansville, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2005 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The road to get to this campground is very rough and off the beaten trail. The roads at the campground are very narrow. Sites are small and the bathroom is very "Rustic". This is a campground that hasn't changed in years. It is not a RV park it's a campground. We camped at Sugar Creek Glen in a Travel Trailer.
