Campestre Maranatha, La Paz, Baja California Sur
Date of Stay:
January, 2017 -
$22.00
Overall Rating:
Great place to overnight or park and visit La Paz. We had water and sewer but the electricity is a little low so we didn't plug in. The management hopes to have the electricity up to standard next year. There is a cafe in front of the park with great baked goods, coffees, breakfast, sandwiches and a few Mexican food items. We camped at Campestre Maranatha in a Travel Trailer.
Very busy park. Very clean. Quiet. No real complaints. We stayed twice traveling south and north.

Playa Santispac, Mulege, Baja California Sur
Date of Stay:
January, 2017 -
$7.00
Overall Rating:
There are no amenities, you just park on the sand a few yards from the water. There are two cafes that serve excellent food and vendors come by every morning with fish, shrimp, baked goods, fresh fruits and vegetables. You can also get your water tanks filled with clean water for reasonable charge. There is a sanitary dump but don't plan on it being serviceable. This is a great place to park and kayak and is less than 10 miles from Mulege. We stayed four nights with a caravan and plan to go back on our way home. We camped at Playa Santispac in a Travel Trailer.

Behind a rather unkempt motel but rv area was ok. Good value at discount but not at regular price.

Overall Rating:
Closed for the week but told on phone we could pull in and stay if we were self-sufficient. Price reflected Passport America discount. Had full hookups. We camped at Talladega Creekside Resort in a Travel Trailer.
Rustic. Kayaking looks to be major attraction. Quiet. Cabins and a few permanent or semi-permanent. Communication good via text. Worked great for us. Not sure about amenities but there is a website.

We have stayed here many times, coming and going, close to home. Very nice park. We thought we were getting electric and water but ended up electric only. Price too high but may have been error. Some sites slope a little. We did not have reservation and they we're very full. We camped at Statesville / I-77 KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Jude Travel Park, New Orleans, Louisiana
Date of Stay:
October, 2015 -
$30.00
Overall Rating:
Very good place to stay if visiting French Quarter. A shuttle service is offered for a fee and well worth it. The sites are very tight but they were getting even large rigs in there. The owner is very helpful with parking. There is a switching station behind the park but we never heard anything. There is a small area for dog walking but you can take your dog next door to a big open grassy mowed field for exercise which saved the day. We spent three nights. Facility is gated so we felt secure there. We camped at Jude Travel Park in a Travel Trailer.
The French Quarter and ask the owner about a big park in town. We were too tired to do more than the French Quarter but we would take our dogs and drive to the Park if we were to go back to New Orleans. Apparently there is a lot to see there.

Very, very nice park. Beautiful pull-thru site with water and electric. Site perfectly level but I don't recall what the surface was. We had a problem with our hitch and the camp host sent several people to see if they could help. We enjoyed our stay of two nights and we able to get help in town on Monday and be on our way. I wish we could have stayed longer. Country Roads RV had the part we needed and were very helpful. Don't hesitate to call them if you're having a problem. We camped at Deerlick Creek COE in a Travel Trailer.

Price includes tax--I don't know what the base rate is. Very nice park. Can't comment on amenities because we were just there for the night. Nice little dog park and a small children's playground. Sites close together but no problem maneuvering. We camped at Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga in a Travel Trailer.
Nice store with basic necessities. Dollar Store across the street. We were just there for the night but I would stay there again.

DiamondJacks Casino and Resort, Bossier City, Louisiana
Date of Stay:
October, 2015 -
$23.00
Overall Rating:
Has laundry room but had to call to get someone to come open as line was forming. Sites level but grounds could use some better maintenance. Freight trains on one end and interstate on side. Lots of construction going on. Safe place to stay and most sites were full. We camped at DiamondJacks Casino and Resort in a Travel Trailer.
Casino buffet is decent and if over 55 you can get a card that gives you 50% off Monday & Tuesdays for lunch or dinner, not both on same day. Did not gamble because there is not a non-smoking area. We felt safe staying there and had all we needed within our RV.

Tyler State Park, Tyler, Texas

$34.00
Overall Rating:
Price reflects $5 pp surcharge per night. Very clean. We stayed two nights but playing catch up and didn't have time to enjoy the park. Would love to have kayaked there. Lucky to get in with no reservation. Most sites were more level and asphalt in better condition than our's. We were glad to have a safe place to stay. We camped at Tyler State Park in a Travel Trailer.
