Prince Rupert RV Campground, Prince Rupert, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Location- Great location for ferry travel. Several large potholes as you enter to park. If it's raining, you won't see them. Cleanliness- Piles of trash by the front office, sat there the entire time of our stay. RV Site- If possible, avoid the lower section as the sites can be on a slope. The sites have been cut in half whereas they put two RV's into one site. The front part of the sites have a big slope. The other problem by splitting the site is the utility hook-ups. Bring extra hose lengths. If you can only get the lower section, stay in the rear area of the sites as this will be more level. View- Other RV's. Full Timers- Some, but not an issue. Some use the camp as a fishing base, that's ok with us, this is fishing country. Landscaping- Grass, needs to be mowed. Utilities- (incl Satellite, Internet) If you're in the lower section you will not receive satellite. Didn't use their wireless. Park Road Surface- Dirt. Noise & Fire Smoke- Quiet. Neighbors are close together, fire smoke could be an issue for some. Staff- Friendly. Issues-None. Comments- Recent change in ownership, hopefully will bring this park up in tidiness, but doesn't look too promising. There are no refunds. Our ferry was at 5:30AM, it is ok to pull out at that time. We camped at Prince Rupert RV Campground in a Motorhome.

The terminal is just down the road. Entry / Exit- Right off the road. If you are catching the early morning ferry, consider spending the before departure evening at the terminal.

Columbia River RV, Portland, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Location- Good location close to highway. It is close to the Columbia River, but no views. Entry / Exit- Easy to get in and out of park and site. Cleanliness-Area around trash cans is cluttered. On our visit, someone had spilled cat litter in front of the trash bin. They didn't bother to clean it up. RV Site- Site was large enough to extend out awning. Was able to park car on the site. Although adequate, somewhat close to neighbors. View- Other RV's. Full Timers-Yes, and sites are untidy and unkept. One site had motor oil all over the pad. Landscaping- Nice landscaping but maintenance is lacking. Lawn looks like it hasn't been mowed in a while. Utilities- Power was good, good satellite, internet on par with other parks. Park Road Surface-Paved. Noise- Close to Portland airport. You will hear planes taking off, but noise level is acceptable. Staff- OK, customer service acceptable but not over the top. Issues-None. Comments- Should be a nicer park with some TLC. Full timers should be re-located to a separate section as it gives park an overall bad appearance. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Motorhome.

Blackwell Island RV Park, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park with easy access. WiFi is pretty much unusable, that's why I carry Verizon mi-fi, which was fine. Good spacing between sites. Check in process was efficient but staff not overly helpful. Opted to upgrade to a lake view but view was blocked by trees as was satellite coverage. Seeing a trend that more campgrounds are not allowing wood fires, this property has adopted this rule. Fine by me, I don't need the smoke.

I would come back, but would not waste the extra $ on limited lake view. We camped at Blackwell Island RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mammoth Mountain RV Park, Mammoth Lakes, California

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great area to camp and visit. There is so much to do. The park is situated off the highway entering Mammoth Lakes. Try to book in the full hook-up area as it is nestled in the trees. The size of the sites varies as the boundaries are set by the trees. Most are easy to get into, but there are a few that you will need some back up assistance.
The park is very clean and the rules seem reasonable. As they are in the forest, you must be tending your campfire at all times. Lots of shade during the day. There is an indoor pool but no fitness facility, however there are lots of hiking trails and bike paths. Good wi-fi but our site did not receive satellite due to the trees. Some sites will receive satellite. Great cable selection.
Only gripe is the office staff. Difficult to get on the phone. The recorded message says to leave a message and they will call back. In our case, that never happened despite leaving several messages. We just kept calling until a human answered. We camped at Mammoth Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ocean Mesa Campground at El Capitan, Santa Barbara, California

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $104.00
Overall Rating:

Have stayed several times and this is a very nice park, but they recently raised their rates. We paid the winter rate of $103.50 with Good Sam. Staff is friendly, but not RV'ers. Close to the freeway so if you are looking for peace and quiet, this is not the best choice.

However, that said, the location is close to Santa Barbara (actually north of Goleta), so there are few choices. In the future, we will drive a little further north to Buellton. Lot spacing is nearby with a sunny/open exposure. Site surface was a concrete pad featuring a fire ring and picnic table. We camped at Ocean Mesa Campground at El Capitan in a Motorhome.

This is a nice quiet park that is close to Highway 120, which enters Yosemite. Lots of shade trees and a nice dog walking trail adjacent to the park. Easy entrance and exit. Friendly staff. I would stay here again. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mammoth Mountain RV Park, Mammoth Lakes, California

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We camped in the full hookup area. Nice park, nestled in tall pine trees. Good amount of space between your neighbors. Great location to all Mammoth activities. We wanted to stay longer, but the park was booked. The office staff was trying to find us another site in the park, even called us back to let us know that they had not received a cancellation. We are looking forward to coming back in the fall. We camped at Mammoth Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Californian RV Resort, Acton, California

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Great park for overnight. The pull-through site was long enough that we did not have to disconnect our toad. Sites are a bit close together. Office staff was friendly and led us to our site. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Motorhome.
