After checking out all the private campgrounds in the Cottonwood area, I found this one to be the best. While there are a number of long term and permanent residents in units sometimes on the shabbier side, the park is very clean, friendly, and safe with lots of shade. I have decided to stay on for a few months as a result. The gravel sites are mostly quite spacious and level with privacy fences in between. Cable and internet are included and while the internet works quite well at my site, I understand it can vary from site to site. There are two loops, one for 30 amp and one for 50 amp. There are no longer any pull through sites.

A lovely campground within striking distance of New Orleans. I paid $23 for the first night and then $18 per night after that. The sites are all back in and well spaced with restroom facilities and playgrounds placed throughout. The staff are friendly and helpful. Its a quiet setting adjacent to the bayou. Currently there is levee construction, but it has not bothered me in the least with noise or inconvenience. I took the Algiers Point Ferry (free) into the French Quarter each day as it is a short drive from here. In addition, just outside the Park entrance and to the right is a place to buy fresh seafood from a variety of vendors. Shrimp, fish, crab etc. My dogs and I would stay here again for sure. Oh, and those of you with dogs, its best to abide by the leash law since there are coyotes around. I heard them each night.
