Cherry Creek State Park, Aurora, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2005 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Pricey for a state park campground, but a great destination if visiting the Denver area. We've stayed in the Cottonwood tent sites and Abilene RV sites and both were exceptionally nice. The campground is close to a sand swim beach, boat ramp, fishing area, and group picnic areas. Unusually quiet, even when full during summer weekends. Lots of bike trails available, but we go for sailing, swimming, and fishing. Make reservations for extended stays at least two weeks in advance! We've come in on a Friday and been bumped out Saturday during the summer. We continue to go back, it's a gem. We camped at Cherry Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Boyd Lake State Park, Loveland, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2004 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Even though water levels were down during our stays at Boyd Lake, every visit has been pleasant. The campground is clean and the paved bike trail network allows for a smooth ride. Water levels are back up since 2005 and we plan to return with our RV, tow car, and boats to get out on the water this coming summer for a couple weekend excursions. Quite and nice, just the way we like things. We camped at Boyd Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Circle The Wagons RV Park , La Veta, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2004 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

We've stayed at both the east and west campgrounds on overnights both are OK but the westside is really worth making an extended stay in La Veta. The staff were pleasant and accommodating. The sites were clean and well kept. The westside restrooms and showers were among the cleanest/nicest we seen in years of RVing. La Veta is a small, low key, off the beaten track town west of Walsenburg were we've stayed to visit the Spanish Peaks and roll over La Veta Pass to the Great Sand Dunes. We'll stay again for a weekend. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Motorhome.
