Kiva RV Park and Horse Motel, Bernardo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for one night, as we have before. Though right next to an interstate, the noise was more than tolerable. Our site was long and shaded, and though close to others, we did not feel crowded. The park has a lot of permanent residents but seems to be well run with a friendly staff. We will stay here again when we need to. We camped at Kiva RV Park and Horse Motel in a Travel Trailer.

Raton Pass Camp and Cafe (Formerly Cedar Rail), Raton, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for two nights to be able to visit Trinidad CO, mostly because the other parks closer to town had poor reviews, which we confirmed while driving past them. Though the location is very scenic, this park is fairly small, and our site was very tight. Dog walking is not great either, so we walked mostly along the highway exit road. We would, however, stay here again if we needed a stopover. We camped at Raton Pass Camp and Cafe (Formerly Cedar Rail) in a Travel Trailer.

Cherry Creek State Park, Aurora, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is definitely the place to stay in the Denver area. Though in an urban setting, the park is very large and makes you feel otherwise. It is well run and maintained, the dog walking is great, and the sites spacious. Reservations are strongly recommended, as this park is very popular. We will be staying here again when we return to the area. We camped at Cherry Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Yampa River State Park (Headquarters Campground), Hayden, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a one night stopover and found the park to be one of the best we have seen. It is well maintained, and the staff helpful and friendly. Our site was spacious, and there was great dog walking on a loop trail around the park. Though it was adjacent to a major highway, the noise was more than acceptable. We would most assuredly stay here again. We camped at Yampa River State Park (Headquarters Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Steinaker State Park Campground, Vernal, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $28.00

We stayed here for six nights and thought this was the best campground during our three week trip. Our site was spacious and level, the scenery was beautiful, and the staff very helpful and friendly. There is lots of great dog walking places as well. We would very definitely stay here again. We camped at Steinaker State Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Jim & Mary's RV Park, Missoula, Montana

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for several days and would definitely stay here again. The park was very well run, with friendly and helpful staff. The facilities and grounds were well maintained, and the sites spacious. There is also good dog walking in the park and on the adjacent road. Though we were 10-15 minutes from Missoula on the interstate, it was well worth staying were we did. We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Snake River RV Park & Campground, Idaho Falls, Idaho

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for one night on our way north. For an urban park next to an industrial area, it was well run, clean, and relatively quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and there was good dog walking. We would stay here again if traveling through the area. We camped at Snake River RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Ballard RV Park, Thompson, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for one night on our way north. The park has a beautiful setting just off Int 80 and away from the heavy traffic noise. It was fairly clean, but the sites were a tad crowded for our liking. There is great dog walking along a road with little traffic. The regular staff was away that day, and the fill in wasn't used to the process but handled it OK. We would stay here again. We camped at Ballard RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Casa Malpais Campground and RV Park, Springerville, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for one night on our way north. The staff was friendly and helpful, and our pull through space more than adequate. The park is just off the highway but did not generate a lot of noise after dark. The park had some semi-permanent or permanent residents and was fairly clean. We would stay here again. We camped at Casa Malpais Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Gila Bend KOA (formerly Augie's Quail Trail RV Park), Gila Bend, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We had stayed in the park a few times before for just touch-and-gos under the previous ownership and decided to try a longer stay. The new KOA ownership has made a couple of key improvements and is working on more. The improved WiFi was excellent, and the new cable TV service a very nice addition. There are also great walking loops for people and dogs. The park is clean, and the staff very friendly and helpful. The only downside is the park's location near an interstate highway, busy railroad route, and military bombing range. Despite that, we think this is one of the better parks we have stayed in and appreciate the changes the new ownership has made. We would certainly stay here again. We camped at Gila Bend KOA (formerly Augie's Quail Trail RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Kiva RV Park and Horse Motel, Bernardo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for one night on our travel home. Really nice sites separated by trees, and lots of space to walk our dogs. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The park is located right next to the Interstate, so the noise was a bit much until it died off later at night. Otherwise, a great place to stay. We camped at Kiva RV Park and Horse Motel in a Travel Trailer.

Prospect RV Park, Wheat Ridge, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This was our second stay here. The park is very quiet at night, despite its location in an urban area. A town park is adjacent that makes for a great place to walk dogs, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The only minor negative is that the grounds are not as picked up as they could be, with scraps of trash here and there. Otherwise, it's one of the best urban parks, and we would definitely stay here again. We camped at Prospect RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
