Bayou Jim's RV Park, Grand Isle, Louisiana

Date of Stay: December, 2013 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Update from earlier visit..... Limited space for big rigs (perhaps 1 or 2). We are in a 40 foot MH and earlier visit was in a 40 foot FW. As stated in earlier review - great place to stay if you are a fisherman/woman. Located right on a canal leading from the gulf to the bay. Lighted fishing pier. Concrete pads. Elmer's Island is now open to the public for some great surf fishing and this campground is very close. This is not a fancy campground but it is clean and friendly. Primary attractions are the beach and great fishing. We camped at Bayou Jim's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Southside Campground, Webster, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

This is primarily a fishing camp with the majority of the sites taken by yearly lease. The proprietor tries to keep 2-3 sites available for overnight use. Call ahead to check availability. When we stayed, only three other sites had campers present, but all but two were occupied. There is no fishing available in the campground, but nearby lakes offer plentiful perch and walleye. Currently only limited sites have 50 amp service. This is certainly not a destination park but great for a few days. The local museum is a must see if you stop here. The proprietor also operates a truck repair operation on site and is very knowledgeable on diesel and auto repair. We camped at Southside Campground in a Motorhome.

Rosebud East, Forsyth, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

When we arrived I had difficulty avoiding low hanging branches. Talked with the park ranger and two days later they are clearing the offending branches (and a lot more). There is one (1) site with 50/30/20 amp pedestal (site #6). All others have no electric. Park ranger closes the gate at night and provides key for emergency use. Noted frequent sheriff patrols through the park. Nightly rate of $17 is for the electric site (additional $5 per night). As noted in other review(s) rates vary between $3.50 (resident senior/disabled) to $12. We camped at Rosebud East in a Motorhome.

Shady Acres RV Park & Campground, Green River, Utah

Date of Stay: February, 2012 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Park is a convenient, overnight stopping point. Might be a really nice place in the summer time, being so close to the Green River. The 50 amp service on our site only had 70 volts on one leg and several adjacent sites had the same on the 20 amp outlets. USE CAUTION when hooking up. Campground personnel indicate electrician had been called. We camped at Shady Acres RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Bayou Jim's RV Park, Grand Isle, Louisiana

Date of Stay: December, 2010 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Daily rate based on monthly stay. Park does not cater to overnight stays - weekly/monthly only. Located right on the canal leading to Elmer's Island so great fishing for red fish, flounder and speckled trout right from the park. Big rigs may have difficulty getting parked - only one pull through. Concrete slab throughout. Proprietor is very friendly. Beach is about one and a half miles away. We camped at Bayou Jim's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Canyons RV Park, Sanderson, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient stop over when traveling West Texas on US 90. Nothing here but a gravel pad and hookups. Rates seem to be a little steep for no more than what is here but there isn't anything else for miles. We have stayed here numerous times due to the convenience factor. We camped at Canyons RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Magone Lake Forest Camp, Prairie City, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

This is a semi primitive National Forest campground. Fifty acre lake, 5000 feet elevation, beautiful area. Fishing good for rainbow and brook trout. Swimming beach and boat ramp - small boats only and 10MPH speed limit. Eight percent grade for about three miles. Paved road all the way to the lake. We camped at Magone Lake Forest Camp in a Fifth Wheel.
