Traverse City State Park, Traverse City, Michigan

Date of Stay: November, 2009 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Camped here for the fourth year for the Iceman mountain bike race in November. We love this park in November as we are one of only a half dozen brave souls to camp this time of year. The bad news is that the squirrels seem to have taken over. We left for about an hour to come back to our pop up being covered with squirrels. They chewed/tore two holes into the side to get inside and ate a portion of the food we had inside. The rangers said they became a problem this year with all the people feeding them and they became voracious. As long as you don't keep any food or garbage (who doesn't?) in your pop up, hybrid or tent you need to be aware. We camped at Traverse City State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Provo KOA, Provo, Utah

Date of Stay: July, 2006 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We decided to stay here as it was just off I-15 on our way between Yellowstone and Grand Canyon. The stream that ran behind our popup was populated with many ducks and geese, which came waddling thru the campsite many times per day, leaving behind many feathers and droppings. When you went to the bathrooms and showers, you had to avoid the droppings all along the way. We were given a spot next to a small trailer that had a blue tarp over it and looked like it hadn't been occupied in many weeks. (Covered with cobwebs) The pool was located in an area that looked to be shared by the adjoining trailer park, as was the laundry facility. We camped at Provo KOA in a Tent Trailer.
