Travelers World RV Resort, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This park has a lot of good things going for it (grounds are kept clean, close to downtown, friendly staff and campers, access to bike trails) BUT it has no security gate and it's in a bad neighbourhood. While we were there, bikes were stolen from the park and another camper had their truck stolen. People can walk or drive into the park after dark. On the plus side, it has a nice pool and dog park. Wifi worked well for our stay (Tengo) and lots of cable channels. Laundry room, rec hall and bathhouse were clean. We camped at Travelers World RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Lafontaine RV Park, Penetanguishene, Ontario

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly staff in the office. No WIFI access but they are working at getting it. This used to be a Carefree Resort park but recently came under the ownership of Sun Communities. No cable but we were able to pick up 6-7 channels fairly well using our aerial. We camped at Lafontaine RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bemidji KOA, Bemidji, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here about 6 years ago and it seems like they've made improvements since our last stay. Not that anything was wrong on our first stay.

Wifi worked well. They have added a new (large) K9 pet area. Staff is friendly and they have someone to escort you to your site. The park has a security gate so if you plan to go out for the evening, you'll need the code to open the gate.

They have souvenirs and supplies in the store/office. Nice park and we'd stay here again. We camped at Bemidji KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Bismarck KOA, Bismarck, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

The park was full so we were put in an overflow area with water & electric only. The man who escorted us to our site was very friendly. There was no cable in our area but Wifi worked well. They have a Kamp K9 area as well as a long pet walk. Easy access off I-94. We camped at Bismarck KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Miles City KOA, Miles City, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

The man at the desk when we checked in was very friendly and gave us some local history of the park & surrounding area while he booked us in. We were escorted to our site by a friendly lady. Wifi worked well and we picked up several TV channels through their cable. Laundry room was clean. We didn't see a designated dog walk area. Garbage is picked up at the end of your site. We would stay again if passing through the area. We camped at Miles City KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Livingston / Paradise Valley KOA, Livingston, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

This is a wonderful park. It is about 1 hour from the northern gates into Yellowstone NP at Gardiner. The park staff are friendly and the grounds are kept clean. We had the best breakfast we have ever had at any KOA! They have an off-leash dog area near the front entrance to the park. The pool is an indoor/heated pool. WiFi worked well for our stay. They have an ice cream social ($$) every evening. The park is about 1 mile off the highway so it's nice & quiet at night. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Livingston / Paradise Valley KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Billings KOA, Billings, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $79.00
Overall Rating:

This is the nicest KOA we have ever stayed in. I would rate it as one of the nicest RV parks we have ever stayed in. The park is laid out well and almost all the sites are pull thru. They have a pool, off leash dog park, playground and mini putt course as well as bikes to rent. They offer breakfast & supper ($$). The wifi didn't work really well went we were there but the park was full. The sites are well spaced and most have some landscaping, with a patio area, table and swing. It's a bit pricey but we have paid almost the same at other KOA's that are not nearly as nice. Well stocked store and they offer an ice cream social every evening ($$). We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Billings KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Rapid City KOA, Rapid City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

The park is overpriced for a 30 amp electric/water site and the sites are very close together. The fire ring on the site next to us was right under our bedroom window. Interior roads are narrow and the sites are so narrow we had trouble getting into our site. The sites have covered picnic tables and we narrowly missed hitting it trying to get in and we could not open up our awning. No cable TV at our site and wifi (Tengo) wasn't very good. Would not stay here again. We camped at Rapid City KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Mitchell KOA, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park close enough to I-90 for easy on/off access but far enough that road noise isn't a big issue. We were escorted to our site. Sites are close together but we've been in parks much worse. Wifi worked well for our stay. No cable TV. New K-9 off leash area, divided in two so dogs can be on both sides. We would stay here again if passing through the area. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Serpent River Campground , Spragge, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park on hwy 17. Lots of seasonal campers but the sites were all well maintained and the park was quiet. Nice playground and pool and a good dog walk area. The lady in the office was very friendly and they have a well equipped store for supplies. Road noise was not an issue. There is a train that goes past twice a day. We would stay here again. We camped at Serpent River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Whispering Valley Campground & RV Park, Rapid River, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We chose this park because of the comments on RV Park Review and the park's web page and Facebook comments. We were disappointed and didn't find the park nearly as nice as we had expected. The lady in the office was very friendly but the office stunk of cigarette smoke. The park is not very big and there appears to be mostly seasonal campers here. There was road noise when the big trucks used their engine brakes coming into Rapid River. It was okay for a one night stopover but we likely wouldn't stay here again. We camped at Whispering Valley Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rochester Marion KOA, Rochester, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We hadn't planned on staying in the area but all the parks in the area farther west were booked because of the Sturgis Bike Rally so we took a chance and dropped in here. The lady at the counter was very friendly and was happy to find a full service, pull thru site for us for the night. She guided us to our site which we really like rather than trying to find the site on our own. The park is far enough off I-90 that noise is not a problem. The laundry room was clean ($2.00 for washer & dryer). The office was well stocked with basic supplies. Wifi worked well. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. We camped at Rochester Marion KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Rideau Acres Campground, Kingston, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Park has a security gate but in the area where it's situated, I'm not sure it's really required. Staff in the office were friendly and they have a well equipped store for some basic supplies plus an ice cream parlor. The park is very large and there are lots of permanent residents. The park has a lot of potential but it looks a bit "tired". There are a lot of trees and shrubs that need trimming as well as the grass needed to be cut on our site. Wifi is only available in their hall. There is a nice waterfront walking path. There are train tracks nearby but trains do not bother us. If you don't like them, you probably wouldn't like it here. Far enough off the highway that road noise is not a problem. Very quiet at night. We would definitely stay here again if passing through the area. We camped at Rideau Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The park is very close to Kingston, Ontario where there are lots of things to do as well as shopping & restaurants. We didn't unhook this time because we've been to Kingston before but if you haven't been, it is a very beautiful city and worth seeing. There are 2 gas stations just before the park entrance. One for sure, has diesel.

Flint / Holly KOA, Holly, Michigan

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Looks like this park is under new management. The wifi and cable TV were not very good. It appears that there a few full time residents in the park. There was a bit of noise from the Interstate but we've heard much worse. There's a gas station across the highway from the park with a well equipped store. We camped at Flint / Holly KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
