Orange Grove RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: January, 2006 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We came for the oranges, and we weren't disappointed. Every site has at least one tree; the oranges were at their peak. We have never tasted oranges this good: sweet and juicy. To reach the oranges you need a special long picking tool, which the office will lend you, only for 30 minutes, to restrict the number of oranges you pick. That is enough time to pick a case of oranges! The Good Sam rate is $33; for repeat visitors they charge less. We camped at Orange Grove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort (55+ park), Casa Grande, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2006 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is an outstanding resort-type campground, with lush landscaping around the golf course, and excellent maintenance, and with a vast array of activities. The facilities are all equivalent to a four-star hotel. Contrary to the previous poster, we were pleased that there were so many volunteers helping with the operations. This included volunteer greeters when we arrived after a long trip, and volunteer "rangers" who help you get parked at the site - and, of course, help make sure you don't run into things while parking. We are already planning to return next year, for a longer stay. We camped at Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.
