Buena Vista KOA, Buena Vista, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We have now stayed in 5 commercial campgrounds in the Buena Vista/Salida area. This is by far the best one. The water/electric sites are very private for a KOA. Always excellent service. Our kids love it with the rock outcrops. Incredible views. Pricey, but everything in the valley is. The pull through sites with sewer are not nearly as nice as the smaller water/electric sites along the edges of the campground. Much better than the other RV parks in Buena vista. We camped at Buena Vista KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Lazy Acres Campground & Motel, Riverside, Wyoming

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The positives: While not remote, it is a nice natural area next to the Encampment River. The showers and bathroom are very clean. The owners are super nice. A decent restaurant/bar is across the street. At night it is pretty quiet. The campground is very well run. The negatives: They advertise wireless, but there is really only one or two campsites in the campground where you can get wireless. The owners should not even advertise that. If they fixed the wireless problem I would give them a 10. We camped at Lazy Acres Campground & Motel in a Motorhome.

Deer Haven RV Park, Saratoga, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for a month with a monthly rate of $450 plus utilities. This is primarily a workers campground. Pluses: Across the river from Saratoga, A wonderful quaint town with restaurants and the hot springs. Minuses - hardly any facilitates - no showers, bathroom, playground or even a nice spot to sit on the river. This campground does not take advantage of its river side location. The campground is quiet at night but many workers get up and start at 4:00 or 5:00 AM. For what you get (no facilities at all) the prices seem very high, especially the monthly rate. But despite the high prices and lack of facilities the campground does a lot of business. We camped at Deer Haven RV Park in a Motorhome.
