Toby's RV Resort (Active Adult park), Arcadia, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Many long term people we spoke with like this park. Lots of activities, clean lots, mix of permanent and RV spots. We found no wifi at site, can buy it but we couldn't even get that done. Wifi good at clubhouse if no one is streaming video! Rainy and therefore very muddy sites with ruts everywhere. No cable available. Satellite available only if you get a site with no trees. only 3 showers available for the entire park (big rig friendly) hot water ran out halfway thru shower! No picnick table. We camped at Toby's RV Resort (Active Adult park) in a Motorhome.

Assateague Island National Seashore Campground, Berlin, Maryland

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Big sites right near the ocean and bay. You are parked in the dunes! Has great access to beach. We had extremely strong winds while here, but we managed. A short ride to Ocean City boardwalk, good bike paths and kayaking area in the marches. Strictly boondocking, no hookups. We liked this park. We camped at Assateague Island National Seashore Campground in a Motorhome.

Take it Easy Campground, Callaway, Maryland

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed one night passing through. Wanted to charge us $48 per night: way too high for this campground. They gave us only a $2 discount for Good Sam membership, should have been 10%. Site was not level but doable. The gentleman who helped us (ex Navy Seal) was great. He took us to the site, made sure we were ok with site and offered to help us in any way should we need it. Lots of more permanent people here, and that is why I suspect the higher rate. (So they can discount a higher monthly rate for those who get reimbursed by their companies for a long term stay.) We camped at Take it Easy Campground in a Motorhome.

Tombigbee State Park, Tupelo, Mississippi

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Nice small campground and good park. Sites are paved pads; we had 50 amp, water and sewer. Beautiful park and lake. Had a power problem and staff was great! Problem solved quickly. Short commute to Tupelo and Elvis' childhood home etc. Tried their disc golf course. We'd come back again. We camped at Tombigbee State Park in a Motorhome.

Sleepy Hollow RV Park, Laurel, Mississippi

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at site 27: in the two days we stayed here we picked up a hoard of tiny ants that were all over the site and now in our RV. The site was very narrow and on the side of a hill. No picnic table and cable TV barely worked. Nice enough folks, but this particular site was awful. Others might be better. We camped at Sleepy Hollow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cedar Key RV Resort, Cedar Key, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Sites were large and new. Very nice. The other campers had a nightly group campfire that was fun. Only about 20 campers here now but many were friendly. Some long term campers and some not. About 6-10 miles to little town of Cedar Key. Nice little restaurants with sunsets. Visit the Suwannee wildlife refuge for a nice 9 mile ride. Peaceful area, very relaxing. We camped at Cedar Key RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Suncoast RV Resort, Port Richey, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2011 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Arrived at our assigned site and there was no water hookup available: all were used by others. Notified park and they fixed this right away. However, there was not a picnic table on site and when we asked about getting one they said: "Go find one if you want one." This is a huge park and we did find a few on open sites, but how were we going to get it to our site? I expected management to get one to us but that didn't happen. Otherwise this is a park with many long time snowbirds; very nice people; friendly; park was clean; had a good pool and plenty of activities. Area is congested, strip malls and shopping centers abound. Major traffic on route 19. Good for a stopover if you are traveling,, or stay a few months if a snowbird and it's like "suburban: city life." We camped at Suncoast RV Resort in a Motorhome.
