Cajun Palms RV Resort, Henderson, Louisiana

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed during the annual Crawfish festival. All sites taken with a waiting list. However, management and staff are well organized with large covered sign-in area and ample staff to handle the crowds. All site as concrete with grass. Concrete patio with wooden picnic table. Site lengths vary so be sure to select one appropriate for camper length. Pads are wide enough to park tow vehicle on pad near front of camper. No parking on grass. Will lead you to site and assist where needed. Garbage picked up at site each morning (nice change). Office has store with most needed options including ice and firewood (cold weather). Very large children wading park and swimming pool. Adult swimming area and swim up bar. Large adult only hot tub with palm tree in island. A full schedule of events for children including movies. Putt Putt area was closed for modifications. Out side walk through dinosaur park just down the road. Go cart track under construction. Pool area has plenty of open and covered seating area. Covered area for ordering and eating from on site grill area. Large meeting facilities with DJ/band stage. Some site are for multiple groups traveling together. Cabins to rent as well. Golf carts are available to rent if you did not bring your own to use during your stay. This is a well maintained and managed RV resort. Great for families with small children but because adult pool and hot tub are kept separated, adults without children should still enjoy. During festival, almost every site has a cooking pot going. However plenty of local restaurants close by. If going during the weekend annual festival, advise you arrive on Thursday or Friday and not leave until Monday. You will have the amenities and pool almost to yourself everyday except Saturday! Saturday the pool areas are packed. We camped at Cajun Palms RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Oasis RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

One of the best RV parks that we have stayed. All concrete pads and patio. Nice well maintained grass and flowers. Gravel as you pull onto and off of each concrete site so no mud. Private restroom and shower combinations are strategically placed in standalone building throughout the park (5 per building with laundry). There is a large pool, hot tub and meeting/conference building on one side of the park. Large covered area for outside grilling side of the building. Short drive to Palo Duro canyon state park and Cadillac Ranch. However, there is a cattle holding area not too far away. No noise but the staff did say that sometimes there may be slight odor in the air. None when we were there. We camped at Oasis RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Grants / Cibola Sands KOA, Grants, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Only stayed one night. Arrived just before 5, with rain and sleet, 30 degrees. Site was easy to access, level, and long enough we did not have to unhook. Park and sites were gravel but even with rain, no drainage issues. Came to our site to make sure no issues with hookup. Management had previous restaurant experience and provided and onsite home cooking delivered to your camper door! What a treat especially during our arrival time. Provided a free continental breakfast in the office the next morning. Would stay here again if passing through the area. We camped at Grants / Cibola Sands KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Kingman KOA, Kingman, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 5 nights in TT. Sites are gravel but are large, level, and easy to access and some with shade. Pool and hot tub but did not use. Bathroom are older but well maintained and clean. For very large groups, only have one inside meeting room but need to check with KOA to see if will meet size of your group. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Large laundry room but has limited hours. Within 2 miles of restaurants and shopping. Route 66 sites of interest with 4 miles. Our site had a nice roomy new patio just poured week earlier. However, the site had not been inspected to re-level and remove chunks of left over concrete before opening up for use. When notified, management immediately came to make temporary spot improvements to ensure safety when stepping out of camper. Offered to re-grade the spot but require us to unhook and move camper. We were part of an on-going rally so that was not a good option at the time. Would stay here again if in area. We camped at Kingman KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Grand Canyon Railway RV Park, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 3 nights TT. Excellent RV Park part of a hotel. Concrete level site, grass, excellent showers, restrooms, laundry, and outside covered grilling area for larger groups. Full use of hotel amenities (indoor pool and not tub, restaurant, bar, large lobby with fireplace). Good wifi only in hotel lobby but work area available. Less than 1/2 block walk to train depot and downtown main street restaurants and shops. Would give it a 10 but backs up to the GC Train tracks which blow loudly as entering station. However, all train activity seems to be done by 10 PM. Only one exit west of road to Grand Canyon (45 minute drive). Would have given a 10 except for train noise. We camped at Grand Canyon Railway RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort, Lajitas, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

RV Park is part of the Lajitas Golf &Spa resort across the street. All amenities of the resort are available to RVers. However, the RV park has its own meeting and lounge building with laundry, showers, pool, and grill facilities. Centrally located to visit Big Bend NP and all other areas. Make sure door and awning face the east to avoid afternoon sun. This will also give you a front door view of the best sunsets and sunrises. All outside lights must be off by 9PM (dark sky) so that everyone can view the night sky. Resort will provide golf cart shuttle from across the street if needed and requested. Excellent full service restaurant at resort but don't miss Starlight Theater at Ghost Town just up the road toward Big Ben NP. You are in desert so no shade and dirt. Unique in that your neighbor may pull in opposite from your direction so that you do not step over his sewer hoses when you open your door. Stayed 3 nights but will be back. We camped at Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in a Travel Trailer.

OK RV Park, Holbrook, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Comments same as others. Sites are tight with slides and sign posts but sites are so (very) long, just pull forward until you get it right! Staff is friendly and park is well maintained. Roads throughout park are wide and easy to manage. Bathrooms are old but very clean. Close to Safeway for shopping and close to Painted Desert and Petrified Forest. WiFi was good and so was TV cable. Traveling in 31' Travel Trailer. Will stay here again when in area. Staff very friendly and helpful. We camped at OK RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Las Cruces KOA, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Obviously the owners really work hard to keep this park in great shape. They have done an excellent job. I would recommend this place as they are very friendly and the place is kept clean. They have something for everyone from tent campers all the way up to Motorhomes. The sunsets are not to be missed and the view of the city is breathtaking. Stay here you won't be sorry. Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This is a retro themed park located on Historic Route 66. If you want modern this is not the place for you. I could not get enough of the old cars, campers and all the nick nacks in the trading post. It was like stepping back in time. I couldn't get enough pictures. At every turn was another unique item that I wanted to remember forever. I recommend RV'ng the Route 66 and seeing these great parks along the way who have worked hard to preserve our past for all to enjoy. A very special place. Midessa Oil Patch RV Park, Odessa, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly and escorted to spot. Although not the most modern, the restrooms and showers were very clean (cleaned twice a day). This is an oil production town, so everything is dirt (no concrete pads), however the park is very clean and well kept. Pool was not open yet, so can't expand. The park was having a problem with quality of water for drinking. Safe to wash dishes and bath. However, park gratiously provided as much bottled water as requested. Ample room between pull through sites for two slides. Only used as one night stay but will use this as an overnight stay again. We camped at Midessa Oil Patch RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Cajun Palms RV Resort, Henderson, Louisiana

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This is by far one of our favorite RV resorts. If you go there during a holiday weekend they will be having fun and cooking and you will become engulfed into the Cajun culture and Cajun cooking. These folks are friendly and lots of fun. We have lots of friends there that we have met over the years and always enjoy the food and fun. If you want to be in a quiet place come here during the week and avoid holiday weekends but who wouldn't want to party with a great bunch of people who cook incredible food and love to share their heritage? We absolutely love this place. Wide long level concrete pads concrete pathways, exceptionally multiple, clean restroom/showers. Incredible swimming pools with water park for kids, swim up bar for adults, huge hot tub just an tropical paradise. The staff is exceptionally friendly. This is the perfect spot for a staycation. Children will love the Jurrasic park walk through, go kart track fishing pond and water park. Very family friendly place. A super fun place one of our favorites. We camped at Cajun Palms RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Paul B. Johnson State Park, Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $14.00

Excellent staff sufficient lighting for late arrival yet not too much to keep you awake. Park is always maintained nicely ( they use local prisoners) and the facility is very nature like yet right off the road. Have stayed here twice and will make it a regular stop on our trips through MS. Concrete pads are level water, electric and sewer hook ups. We camped at Paul B. A great find just off I-10. Lots of restaurants nearby. Rest rooms and showers very clean. The woman that runs the place is an absolute jewel. Very friendly and became a future friend right away. She shared her Christmas candy with us. The lots are gravel. They work on the place all the time and are trying to make it better. She lives on site in a very nice motorhome. The place is clean and well kept. We will definitely return. We camped at Pensacola RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We found this jewel on line and my wife never gets excited about an RV park. She is now planning a family get together at Cajun Palms. They have everything for a family kid friendly get together. All spots are concrete, very nice private secure showers and bathrooms. People are very friendly and Crawfish Town restaurant will shuttle you in a golf cart to their restaurant or deliver food to you. Will definitely be back.
