Titusville / Kennedy Space Center KOA, Mims, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We called in reservation in October for the following March. After confirming reservation we needed to add two days to our stay and called back the same day. I did talk to two different ladies in the office but when we asked for the extension we were told that it would be "no Problem". We arrived thinking all was fine and did not check the dates when we checked in which was my mistake I guess, but I have never thought to confirm that before and it did not enter my mind. We were camping with a companion who had the same reservations for his fifth wheel and when the camp host knocked on our door to tell us we should have left we were more than surprised. My friend was at Daytona bike week and I had to try to hunt him down and have him come back early because they wanted his spot. I talked to management and had complete notes with date I made the reservation and made the changes as well as the names of the people I talked to, but he was not impressed with it being anything but our problem,. My friend had to leave Daytona and completely ruin his day to come back and move his rig. They did find us a spot for our two rigs, but of course they added the weekend rate for the extra night and even when we asked it the owner did not think the blame was his ( the lady has since been sent to housekeeping because she made so many booking errors) he just shrugged and said you want a spot or not. Needless to say we are not happy and may very well not use Koa again. The park is a mess, crowded, staff is disheveled and not very responsive on the whole. When we checked in we were told it might be a week b before the pool would be accessible. We were there 22 days and it is still closed. Certainly not up to KOA standards at all. Other patrons at the park were also unhappy with the accommodations and lack of site supervision. We camped at Titusville / Kennedy Space Center KOA in a Motorhome.

Bodnarosa Motel and Campgrounds, Berwick, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Rate does not reflect Good Sam discount. This park is lovely, and is staffed with the nicest people we have met on our trip so far. They also have tremendous food at the check in office, deli meats and BBQ. Digital Cable has just been installed and the Wifi was more than adequate. The park has a large number of really nice cabins that come with linens. One of the nicest places we have stayed. We already promised the owner we would return. We camped at Bodnarosa Motel and Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Aces High RV Park, East Lyme, Connecticut

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

We were disappointed in the fact that since this was Columbus day weekend, this park did not even allow the Good Sam discount even though we arrived on a Sunday. The cost seemed unreasonable. WiFi good, and spaces roomy. They needed a charge card to take reservation, but required payment in check or cash. Very inconvenient to say the least. We were shown our spot on a map, but no one escorted us and it seemed that no one really was interested in helping us. We will not be staying here again. We camped at Aces High RV Park in a Motorhome.

S & H Campground, Greenfield, Indiana

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Host was not very happy to see us, it seemed. sights are ok, but not spacious and gravel. WiFi is so-so but did hook up ok. speed test would not register so best you can hope for is email. Lots of trees make satellite difficult. Roads in park are narrow and steep. Lots of full timers Probably won't stay here again. We camped at S & H Campground in a Motorhome.

Buena Vista Resort, Chapin, Illinois

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We pulled in to this campground on Sunday afternoon and there was no one to be seen. I called the phone number on the door and left a message. We parked in a pull through and later the son of the owner came by to accept our payment. He was very nice and apologized explaining that there had been a wedding the day before and he was up most of the night. The park is brand new, the sites are piles of gravel rolled fairly level. They are narrow and most are back in or drive in. There appears to be a nice playground for kids, and a pond in which to try your luck. The road in was just a little narrow and the roads around the park are very narrow for a big rig but we had no real difficulty. We would stop again next time through to see if things improve, as it appears they are trying to create a really nice park. We camped at Buena Vista Resort in a Motorhome.
