Sommerville Almond Tree RV Park, Coalinga, California

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Easy on/off freeway; Staff was very friendly; 50 amp pull through full hookup gravel site; Big rig friendly; although we just stopped overnight, we still unhooked our toad and went to Harris Ranch restaurant for an awesome prime rib dinner. We also shopped in the store and brought home a bunch of filet mignon steaks. I would definitely come back here. We camped at Sommerville Almond Tree RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mission RV Park, El Paso, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This was a stop over for us, spacious sites are hardened dirt which makes for a lot of dust. Big rig friendly, great cell service, WiFi, near plenty of stores and restaurants. 50 amp service needed in this heat and humidity. If you have Passport America, it cost me $20.97 cash only and that price cannot be beat. I would stay here again. We camped at Mission RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you like German food, there is a little place we found that is out of this world. The owner makes the food to order and he is a baker as well. The name is Peter's German Grill & Bakery at 255 Shadow Mt Dr. in El Paso. Believe me, well worth the drive.

San Antonio KOA, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

An older KOA, gravel sites are unleveled and fairly close together. Quite a few trees so if you have a roof satellite dish, make sure you ask for a site with lower trees. Laundry room was small and no air conditioning, just a fan. We camped at San Antonio KOA in a Motorhome.

Mystic KOA, North Stonington, Connecticut

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

Kind of an old KOA, adequate for a few nights stay but I wouldn't spend more than that here. Check-in was okay but I asked for a site without trees and of course when I pulled to my site it was in between 2 large trees. I stopped and called the office & went through available sites and found one without trees. Sites are gravel and not level at all; I extended my levelers and still we were tilting forward; very close to your neighbor which mens you will hear their music, dogs barking, etc. Nice playground for kids. We camped at Mystic KOA in a Motorhome.

Pemaquid Point Campground, New Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

I arrived 2 days after the season opening and the office was closed but was left a map to find my reserved site. Unfortunately the site number markers were not out yet so I had a difficult time finding my site. They were put out the next morning :-). Very quiet campground, Manager/Owner Emily was very nice, Not all sites have 50 amp and only one site has a sewer connection, so if you are there for an extended period, you will have to use their dump station or honey wagon on Wednesday or Sunday; many sites have trees surrounding the area so if you have a roof satellite you will have a hard time getting reception. I found a site where I didn't have trouble getting reception. There wasn't wifi while I was there but was told it was being connected in the next week. This campground is within 10 miles to many local specialities, shops, outstanding lobster shacks, etc. I definitely would stay here again as long as it isn't over 4 days or so. We camped at Pemaquid Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Brattleboro North KOA, Brattleboro, Vermont

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Check-in was great. Manager checked us in. Worker was out mowing the lawn so the manager hopped into a golf cart & took us to our site. Very quaint, quiet campground; nice long sites, spacious in between neighbors, shady site but I was able to lock in on my roof satellite dish. I used the laundry room and it was immaculate and plenty of room to fold clothes. Washers & dryers were $2.00 each and it only took one dryer cycle to dry the clothes. Kid friendly. Wifi is fine. Big bang for your buck. We camped at Brattleboro North KOA in a Motorhome.

AA Royal Motel & Campground, North Tonawanda, New York

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

I guess it is okay for an overnight stay but that is it. Very small place, some pull throughs, some back ins. This is an Escapees park and it still was over $60. Way too expensive for this kind of park. The only way I would stay here again is if there wasn't another place to spend overnight. I truly would have been better looking for a Walmart. I would have felt just as safe and it would have been much cheaper. We camped at AA Royal Motel & Campground in a Motorhome.

Terry Bison Ranch Resort, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

I received the PA discount for one night then regular price for the 2nd night. Total coast was $75.00 for 2 nights. From the moment you pull into the driveway under the arch, the ground pavement, which is dirt, is the worst I have ever encountered. Pot holes everywhere and believe me you will be rockin' & a rollin'. The assigned space #88 was okay but not level and on a downhill. I can tell you for sure, that if it rains, you don't want to be anywhere near this campground. There will be mud all over the place. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Best part was the Senator's Steakhouse which is on the premises. Nothing fancy but very good food. I had the Bison sirloin steak for dinner the first night and the next day for lunch I had the Bison burger. Do not miss those dishes, you will be more than pleasantly surprised.

Sparks Marina RV Park, Sparks, Nevada

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Evidently they have new management and staff and that is why I returned to this campground. I have been coming here for over 10 years and 2 years ago they had a staff member who wouldn't assign me a site that I have reserved each year. She said it was reserved for pet owners and told me I lied to get that site because I didn't have a dog. Well I did have a dog but she died that year. So between her and her husband they caused grief. They are now gone and I am now back. Excellent reservation process, excellent check in and everyone was super friendly. I will definitely be returning each year as before. We camped at Sparks Marina RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sparks Marina RV Park, Sparks, Nevada

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

You can't find a better, cleaner, quieter, friendlier campground in the area. All sites are level, spacious, with picnic tables, and carpeted in lieu of grass. You will see workers walking around cleaning constantly, keeping the resort clean. If there would be one suggestion I have is during the summer months, to have some function that would be exciting for children and adults alike. Something like an ice cream social, BBQ, etc. But it doesn't reduce my rating, this park is a 10 all the way. We camped at Sparks Marina RV Park in a Motorhome.

Anaheim RV Park, Anaheim, California

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Here is what everyone should be looking for in a RV Park. This very clean park has a quiet area; and the Wi-Fi works in your rig. The shuttle to Disneyland is awesome. Employees are very friendly and helpful. This park is near everything; and you can see Disneyland's nightly fireworks display from your rig. It has a few dog walking areas. This is a very affordable rate for the area. What more could you want? Couldn't ask for any better park and location. We camped at Anaheim RV Park in a Motorhome.
