Prairie Oasis Campground and Cabins, Henderson, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to find off x-way, good signage. Very well-maintained campground with lots of mature trees and a grassy park area with playground overlooking the pond. Free paddleboat or kayak usage. Extremely personable and helpful owners who escort you to site. Excellent wi-fi and regular tv antenna picked up 10 stations. Owner said showers were new, but didn't use. Price reflects water/electric only site, with discount. Would highly recommend this campground. We camped at Prairie Oasis Campground and Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Scotty's RV Park, Hawthorne, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is basically a campground on a city block. It has full hookups, good wi-fi and cable tv. Sites are level gravel pull-thrus, "landscaped" with rose bushes. You can't beat it for the price, perfect for a one-night stop. The sign said to register at the mini-mart, and when going into the adjoining gas station to ask where the mini-mart was, I was told he didn't know anything about a mini-mart. Then when I asked about the campground, he said he could take care of it; definitely confusing. We camped at Scotty's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Colorado Heights Camping Resort, Monument, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

A well-maintained park, but the roads were narrow and the sites were not very roomy. The wooded sites could be very tricky to get into. The "wi-fi lounge" was a laugh. It was the only place you could get wi-fi, other than at the office, and even then it was as slow as dial-up and often disconnected. She explained it goes thru their phone line and is always like that, which is way under what is needed for a park this size. We camped at Colorado Heights Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Elk's Lodge #1053, Montrose, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This was a great place for a one-night stop. There are only 6 spaces with electric only, but all were mostly shaded, roomy, and very level. Great price for an overnight with electric, would stop there again. We camped at Elk's Lodge #1053 in a Fifth Wheel.

Chassahowitzka River Campground, Homosassa, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Site size ranged from average to large (90' long) among the trees. Ground was hard-packed dirt covered with leaves and pine needles. Fire ring w/grill and like-new picnic table at each site. Tent-only area had some sites that were big enough for at least 5-6 tents. A short walk to the river where kayak and boat rental is available. Manatees are in the area daily. Boardwalk with benches and boathouse along the river. Bathhouse clean and roomy, laundry room w/folding table, clubhouse. Very few planned activities, staff friendly. Loved the "woodsy" feeling, would definitely return. Wifi antennas throughout park, but we had trouble with signal going in and out, especially on weekends when more people were here. Rate based on a one-month stay using Good Sam discount. We camped at Chassahowitzka River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Walgreen's and Publix at end of road on US19, about 4 miles away. Not far to WalMarts and other stores in Homosassa Springs, Homosassa, Lecanto or Crystal River. Howard's Flea Market is nearby and one of the better ones we've been to.

Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort, Crystal River, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We booked for 1 week and liked it so much stayed a 2nd. Sites are from mostly open to having lots of vegetation. Roomy sites, sidewise and lengthwise. Paved roads great for walking or biking; pet friendly. Free WiFi works great, free cable tv, picnic table. Paved roads but sand/grass sites, most of which are level. Large clubhouse and screened pool. Could have more washers/dryers for the size of park. 10-20 minutes away from 4 major towns. We will definitely return. Price reflects weekly rate. We camped at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Shady Acres RV & Camping Park, Fort Myers, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Spaces in main park are somewhat tight and short, but plenty of room in the newer area. On site cafe, lots of activities going on daily, quite a few fulltime residents, everyone friendly, nice pond with unfriendly ducks, pet friendly. If we returned would definitely ask for the newer section. Rate reflects weekly less 10% Good Sam discount. We camped at Shady Acres RV & Camping Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Jolly Roger Travel Park, Marathon, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2013 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here 2 years ago mainly because it was in the Keys and the only park that accepted PA (5 nights). We returned to find it much improved: new heated/chilled pool, a new section of larger sites, laundry/shower/rental building repainted. The men who escort you to site and give instructions for parking are great--wish we could take one with us! Gorgeous sunsets from the shore or docks. I think at least half the guests had dogs. A nice clean park that is well-maintained and has the best rates in the Keys. Would definitely stay there again. We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lakeport RV Resort, Moore Haven, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

If you're looking for a nice, quiet campground, this is it. It's out in the country, and you hear cows and roosters! Unfortunately, its also a drive to do any shopping, Clewiston having the closest WalMart, or Okeechobee for more shopping selection. There is an Indian casino about 10 minutes up the road that has great penny slot machines! Wi-fi was free but kept disconnecting and couldn't get re-connected. About half are permanent trailers. We used PA for 1 week, regular rate for 2nd week. We camped at Lakeport RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Lakeshore Palms Travel Park, Winter Haven, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2012 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small, older park that is in the re-hab process. Owner/s always available and willing to solve any problems. About half are older permanent trailers. Convenient to shopping and Lego Land, but it is on a busy road with lots of traffic sounds and sirens many times a day. Water pressure is poor. Price based on a 32-night stay. We camped at Lakeshore Palms Travel Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Small, older park in residential area. Well maintained, roomy sites, spotless bath/shower and laundry. Owner friendly and helpful. Walden's Creek Campground, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Sites were small and close together but level and had concrete pad with picnic table or table and chairs. No facilities other than restroom/showers and laundry room, which were all clean. Grounds well maintained. Low Wi-Fi reception. We paid $21.50 per night for a weekly rate, added an extra night and was charged $31.50. We camped at Walden's Creek Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
