Green Gate Grove (55+ park), Mission, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2012 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Clean. Green Gate is a 24 hour gated park that is professionally run from check in to check out. This is a great choice for the Mission Valley Area. The people were very friendly and helpful. The sites are concrete, level and most have at least one fruit tree and several palm trees. Clubhouse is very nice with a small computer room with a large library (several thousand books). The only suggestion I would have is to get a site which does not back up to Bentsen Palm Dr. This is a heavily used road at all hours. We rented from a private owner at $400.00 a month(see Green Gates website) for 3 months in a 40' MH. Note: electric is charged at 16 cents a KWH. We averages approx. $120.00 a month extra in electric costs. We camped at Green Gate Grove (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Lakeview RV Resort, Houston, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Noisy park that sits next to several highways. Sites are very close together. Sites are level, but connections are on the far end which means the toad must be removed to hook up to the sewer (approx. 30'). I was surprised by the great reviews. This is a 7 in my view at best. We camped at Lakeview RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park, Vicksburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The park was good for a one night stay. Sites are not very long. If you leave your toad hooked up it may be in the roadway a little bit. It is easily accessible from highway. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hinton RV Park, Sikeston, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Check in was handled by a very nice gentleman. He took us to our site where all the hookups worked well. Laundry facilities were cheap $1.25 for washing and .75 cents for the drier. Laundry and showers were clean and well lit all night. There is also a shuttle from the CG to Lambert's. We camped at Hinton RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Campus RV Park, Independence, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Staff was friendly however, when we checked in the man said the site you are assigned has never had a rig your size in it. Our space was short and we had to park our car somewhat in the road. Water pressure was horrible. Hookups were placed correctly and everything else worked fine. No fire pits and campsites are extremely close. This campground is very close to the Truman sites in Independence. Trains, trains and more trains all day and night. I want to give this CG a better review but there were to many negatives. I would not use this park for more than an overnight stay. We camped at The Campus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Camp A Way, Lincoln, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Staff was friendly and helpful. This campground is close to the interstate and easy to get to. Our campsite was level and nicely shaded. We had a grill, swing and nice concrete patio with the site. They served a free pancake and bacon breakfast on Saturday which was quiet nice. They also have a nice dog run. Some road noise could be heard but overall a nice campground. We camped at Camp A Way in a Motorhome.

Itasca State Park, Park Rapids, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park with lots of bike paths and hiking trails. Sites are not real level and can pose a problem for a 40' motorhome to get into. Trees could use some trimming to avoid possible scrapes down RV's. Ranger presence was noticeable in the park. Several fellow campers felt the need to go way to fast in the camping area where a 10mph speed limit was posted. Restrooms and showers were very clean and well kept. We camped at Itasca State Park in a Motorhome.

Pattison State Park, Superior, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Check-in was handled very well. This CG is used to getting people in and out. Roads were a little tight with small tree branches overhead. Sites are large and not right on top of each other. Electric worked properly(30AMP). This CG is right by the Manitou Falls both the large and small one. Overall this is a really nice CG, however be prepared for lots of families with children. The Park Ranger presence was seen several times a day/night. We camped at Pattison State Park in a Motorhome.

Sugar Bay Resort/campground, Cohasset, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a quiet and very well cared for campground. Sites are gravel with a large concrete pad and picnic table. Owners are very friendly and helpful with any questions. Water pressure was very low. Electric and sewer were setup properly and worked well. Bathrooms were spotless with coin operated showers. Not the pet friendliest CG and not allowed to use your RV washer and dryer. This CG has a great view of Pokegama Lake with fabulous sunrises and sunsets. We camped at Sugar Bay Resort/campground in a Motorhome.

River Road RV Park , Ontonagon, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park is OK overall. It needs a good old fashioned cleaning and trimming. Electric, water, cable TV all were good, however, the sewer connection was higher than the the outlet on my MH. This is inexcusable in my opinion. We camped at River Road RV Park in a Motorhome.

FJ McLain State Park, Hancock, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a fantastic setting on Lake Superior. Park was clean and well maintained. Site 82 was tight for our 40' MH because of the slope of the asphalt and decorative boulders. We needed approx. 40' of electrical cord to hook up for 30 AMP. This park is all about the view and sandy/rock shoreline. PS: Bald eagles are around the park We camped at FJ McLain State Park in a Motorhome.

Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping, Mackinaw City, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was the corner. It was big but the location made it noisy from traffic. We stayed here for 4 days and had sewer smells on 2. The park maintenance was responsive and found a cracked sewer cover the first time. This fixed the problem the first time. The second time we were leaving that morning and did not report the problem. This park has sights with great views of Lake Michigan. Overall this was a little above average park. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort, Empire, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Nice RV resort. Quiet with little lighting at night for great star gazing. Pads are made to look like stone (very nice). Hookups are at the correct location and work great. Most sights are spaced far apart with wild flowers between each. This is a class A resort only however, some units were older. We camped at Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort in a Motorhome.

River Ridge Resort, Stanwood, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great RV park. Site was level and wide enough for our car, 40' motorhome, fire pit and picnic table to be on concrete. Water pressure was really good. Sites are fully landscaped with flowers, shrubs and grass everywhere else. Pool was large and immaculate. This RV park was the best we have stayed at in our year of fulltiming. We camped at River Ridge Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park. It is located about 10 minutes from the beach. Sites are level and well maintained. Pool area and clubhouse were great and landscaped really well. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I would have given this park a 10 but the water pressure was not good. We camped at Sunny Brook RV Resort in a Motorhome.
