Cottonwood Campground (NPS Campground), Big Bend National Park, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $7.00
Overall Rating:

This is a dry, no generator camp. Sites are level but few can handle rigs over 30'. Ranger presence was very noticeable in a good way. Birds and wildlife are abundant in the park. We found this park to be awesome. We camped at Cottonwood Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Lost Alaskan RV Park, Alpine, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Spaces are level and long enough for our 40' coach and toad. Utilities are placed well but the water spigot is about 8" deep in a pipe, and a little difficult to hook up to. Overall park is fine for a short stay. We camped at Lost Alaskan RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pine Springs Campground (NPS Campground), Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

This is a dry camp only. The sites are level and close, but big enough for even large rigs. (We are 40 feet.) The mountains are right out your windows, as were some elk. Trails are everywhere right off the sites. We camped at Pine Springs Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Cochise Terrace RV Resort, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Clean and well kept resort. People are friendly and the front desk was very helpful. We were given a 10 page guide with directions and brief history to all the local sites. Our site was level and the utilities were well placed. The grounds are kept in great shape as are their trails in the park. We camped here in a 40' motorhome. Ajo Heights RV Park, Ajo, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This park is awesome. The owners are just perfect. The folks who stay here all winter invite all campers to join their 3 t0 5 gathering everyday. Just a group of great people. The park is immaculate and extremely well kept. We stayed here in a 40' motorhome. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Motorhome.

Happy Trails RV Resort ( A 55+ Park), Surprise, Arizona

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This park is so over priced for what you get. Sites are really close and people were not friendly. I was very disappointed in this resort. The owners of our site were no where to be found and the front desk couldn't answer our questions concerning what we could use on the site. Overall resort is clean and well maintained. We camped here in a 40' motorhome. We camped at Happy Trails RV Resort ( A 55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

Hole-In-The-Wall, Nipton, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

This park has lots of great level sites for big rigs. We are 40'. There is a dump station, potable water and trash containers. Mountain and mesa views are just outside you door. We found this area to be really diverse in it's plants and cacti. Coyote and rattlesnake can be found in the area. We camped at Hole-In-The-Wall in a Motorhome.

Furnace Creek (NPS Campground), Death Valley National Park, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This park has large pull thru with the utilities placed in the correct area. Our site had to be 90' long and level. We found this park to be a great place to head out in any direction to view Death Valley. Our ATT WIFI worked well from our site. We camped at Furnace Creek (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tuttle Creek Campground, Lone Pine, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is a BLM park with a dump station, trash containers and potable water. The sites are various sizes with some fairly level and some not. The roads getting into the park are asphalt. Our ATT WIFI worked well from our site. We enjoyed great mountain views and sunsets from the campground. This area was not busy and very quiet. We camped at Tuttle Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Boulder Creek RV Resort, Lone Pine, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Simply put: The folks running this campground could not have been more helpful. Long story, short: we had a package which should have been delivered during our stay. It wasn't. They not only got the package but forwarded it on to us at no charge. Thanks again!

The park was clean and quiet with level spots for a 40' coach, and good working utilities. The dog park was huge so the dog had lots of exercise. We camped at Boulder Creek RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Alabama Hills Recreation Area, Lone Pine, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is BLM land with lots of area to camp in all kinds of units. The views are great and the mountains are beautiful. We were able to find a spot, in a 40' rig, where our ATT MIfi worked well. The area can get busy on weekends so the further out you camp the less activity. We found this to be a great place to unwind. We camped at Alabama Hills Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Sequoia and Kings Canyon RV Park, Dunlap, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The office was closed upon arrival and we had to find site 71 to see the host. The numbering system of this park is bizarre. If you camp here site 71 is to your left about a half block down as you enter. The utilities worked fine, however they are located at the back of the site--This made for a long sewer hose run. The site was fairly level with one shade tree. The host was so nice during our whole stay. This park is an old mobile home park mostly empty that accepts RV's. This park is 30 minutes from General Grant's tree. I hope they can fix this place up and turn it into a jewel that it could be. We camped here in a 40' motorhome. Lower Pines (NPS Campground), Yosemite National Park, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

What can I say - this place is beautiful, busy and tight for a 40' motorhome. We were able to grab one of the very, very few sites that can fit our motorhome for 2 days. To be in the valley with the mountains all around was a great experience. Considering all the activity this place has, it was quiet at night. We camped at Lower Pines (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Mother Lode Fairgrounds, Sonora, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This place offers many different types of sites and utility options. We stayed in the area behind the grandstands had 50 amp with water and sewer. The site was fairly level with the open field in front that was rather bumpy to drive through. There are no views of anything, however lots of area to walk a dog. We camped at Mother Lode Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

49er RV Ranch, Columbia, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is tight--extremely tight. The sites are small and campers are sitting on top of each other. Our site had a large tree on one side and we had to park the rig at an angle to be able to open the slides. This left almost no room to pull our toad in. The utilities worked well and are located in the proper area. In seven years of fulltiming this is the most cramped campground we have stayed in. We camped here in a 40" motorhome.
