Sandwich Fair Grounds, Sandwich, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Nice level grass sites on the edge of the fairgrounds. Trees are small so shade is not available. However, I felt this park had a great feel. The park manager is a great guy who is laid back but keeps the park in great shape. 50 amp service, water and a dump station for the price is a bargain. Note: Downtown Chicago is about 1 and a 1/4 hour away. We camped at Sandwich Fair Grounds in a Motorhome.

Penninsula State Park, Fish Creek, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Park is located in a great location to see Door County. Sites are large but some had very little rock and all became a swamp when it rained. Mosquitos are a big problem---bring lots of spray. Restrooms/Shower rooms are old and some could use an update. We camped at Penninsula State Park in a Motorhome.

Pulpit Rock Campground , Decorah, Iowa

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Great little campground with large, level sites. Utilities were placed in the right locations and in proper working order. We could not use our MiFi and satellite TV because of the trees. Our rig is 40' long. We camped at Pulpit Rock Campground in a Motorhome.

Lebanon Hills Regional Park Campground, Apple Valley, Minnesota

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is clean and laid out well. Spaces are fairly big and don't make one feel crammed. This park is only 5 minutes from just about any store one could need. The only issue we had were ticks and more ticks. We removed 11 from our dog in 7 days and he was out only to do his bathroom duties. We also removed 3 ticks from the wife. Our rig is 40' long. We camped at Lebanon Hills Regional Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This is the best state park in the US. It's like Yellowstone in so many ways without the huge crowds. Sites are level and park is very well cared for. Wildlife is everywhere around and in the park. We camped at Custer State Park - Game Lodge Campground in a Motorhome.

Boyd Lake State Park, Loveland, Colorado

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Overall this is an OK park. Sites are a little tight with most a half-moon shape. Check-in was not pleasant--The young lady did not want to be bothered. Every question we asked seemed to cause her a hassle. We were not given any maps or literature concerning the park. Having just left a different Colorado state park, there was no comparison. We camped at Boyd Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Boulder County Fairgrounds, Longmont, Colorado

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park in Longmont. Sites are various sizes with some that can hold a 45' motorhome and toad. There is a dump station at the park. Some sights have electric/water or just electric. Park is located within driving distance to the Rocky Mountain NP about 1 1/4 hour. Sites are gravel, sand, and dirt, which can be messy if it rains. We camped at Boulder County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Cheyenne Mountain State Park, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Park is clean and well kept. Anytime you camp in a Colorado State Park there is a $7.00 car charge on top of the per night rate. They do have an annual car pass for $70.00 per year. Therefore my camping rate really was $31.00 per night. This park is new but has just a couple of sites that will hold a 40' rig. We camped at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in a Motorhome.

Park is way overpriced. Uneven spots, WiFi did not work. This park does have a great location for visiting Monument Valley. Overall I was very disappointed. We camped at Goulding's Lodge & Campground in a Motorhome.

Val Vista Village (55+ park), Mesa, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Huge park with hundreds of park models. Our site was fairly level with OK hookups. Had to dig around sewer connection because they have them horizontal below the surface of the ground. I don't get it. Price reflects Passport America discount. We camped at Val Vista Village (55+ park) in a Motorhome.
