Topsail Hill State Preserve, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of our favorite Florida State Parks to stay at. The lots are spacious with very nice landscaping. It is about 1/2 mile walk to the very secluded beach, or you can take a tram running hourly. Have plenty of space for walking and/or biking, with a long biking trail right outside the front gate. We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Fifth Wheel.

Burlington Bay Campground, Two Harbors, Minnesota

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in site B34, which is in the new section. They are in the process of building a bathroom and shower building for this section. The sites are nice size, and fairly level. Site 34 is on the lowest level, close to the lake. We selected this site because we thought it would have less road noise than the upper row, but it turned out the opposite. The road between our site and the lake was noisy at night, where the upper sites or the middle row sites are further from the lake but quieter at night. Needed two lengths of sewer hose and they put the sewer access at the back of the lots instead of next to the electrical connection near the middle of the site. We would stay here again, but on the middle or upper level sites. We camped at Burlington Bay Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Legendary Waters Resort & Casino Campground, Red Cliff, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Called ahead for reservations, and the Hotel receptionist said she would pick out a "good site" for us. Well, I suppose "good site" means differant things to differant people. We were thinking a "good site" would be one that backed up to Lake Superior. Our site was on the upper level at the entrance so we ate the dust fron the inconsiderate faster than should be drivers. We did still have a nice view. The site was not level from left to right or from front to back. We had to put 4" of blocks under the wheels to get it level. Considering the options in the area, we probably wouldstay heresgain, especially considering the Casino was very friendly to us. Some previous reviews suggested the showers, in the Hotel, were too far to walk. We thought the walk was average andcloser than some State Parks. We camped at Legendary Waters Resort & Casino Campground in a Tent.

Kartchner Caverns State Park, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is probably the nicest State Park we have stayed at. The sites are very large. The scenery is beautiful, and it is located in an area where there is a lot to do and see. The Caverns are a must to see. Because the Park is located on a hill, it takes some leveling, in some cases 4 to 6 inches. Overall this gets a 10. We camped at Kartchner Caverns State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Davis Camp Park, Bullhead City, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Camp Davis for a week in Feb. 2015. It could be an excellent park if it weren't for the highway noise and the airplane noise. There are Military training exercises going on all day long. They do touch and go landings and every three to four minutes a plane comes overhead, all day long. There is a stoplight 1/4 mile from the Park entrance and another stoplight at the park entrance. Being on a hill you hear the trucks, loud motorcycles, and cars accelerating up the hill and trucks jake braking down the hill all night long. The bathrooms are in need of updating and cleaning, as is the laundry. The grounds are very well maintained and the staff very friendly and helpful. The setting is beautiful, with areas on the river for sitting, wading, and swimming. They do not have WiFi but there is a private service available. No cable but the major channels came in with an antenna. If you don't mind noise this is a very nice park. The dry camp sites on the river are quieter and very beautiful spots. We camped at Davis Camp Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cooperstown Beaver Valley Cabins & Campsites, Cooperstown, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived a day prior to our reservations and they were able to accommodate us and said it worked out better because Friday they would be full in the full hookup area. We came from Minnesota to watch our son coach, and our grandson play in the Field of Dreams Parks Tournament. The RV park was nicely located as it is only a few miles from the Dreams Park and close enough to Cooperstown that it is an easy drive. It is a steep winding road up to the RV location if you follow the GPS. Take Seminary Road off the main road and it is easier. The sites are all grass, and fairly level. They had rain so we had to back through a little mud, but no problem. Person at the front desk was friendly. When I asked if my son and grandson could visit she said absolutely not. They had a policy of no visitors. But as you leave the office to go to your site, there is a sign that says all visitors must register. In their rules and regulations they say no visitors, but if you have a son staying elsewhere they are welcome and able to come in. Don’t know to this day what their policy is. Would have been nice to have our son and grandson over for a home cooked meal. The grounds are neat and clean. We did not use the pool but it was large and looked clean. Don't believe it is heated. The place could use a little tender loving care like sanding and re-staining the picnic tables, cut around all grass areas, and put away old machinery etc. Dumpsters located at one area only, and no trash drums set out in the park. We wanted to leave a day early but they do not refund payments less than five days prior to the cancellation. This is even though they had all the full hookup sites, except ours, open and available. They also charge $7.00 per night for each additional adult and $2.00 a night for a pet. Our total bill for four nights was $248.00. A little pricey for what you get. In site A9, where we stayed, we had to hook together two sewer hoses to connect. They had open cabins and open RV sites, but they put us right next to a occupied cabin. It would have been a little more considerate to give us and the people in the cabin additional space. We camped at Cooperstown Beaver Valley Cabins & Campsites in a Fifth Wheel.

James Island County Park, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: January, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

For our taste, this was a very nice Park to stay at and would definitely come back here. Unfortunately we stayed here during the worst winter in History so really could completely enjoy the Park. The sites are packed gravel, quite large, and very easy to back into. All the sites are at a 45. Leveling was easy with only a block under each wheel required. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They have over 3 miles of paved walking and biking trails, and the largest dog park we have every seen. There are lots of things to do especially during the summer. It is very close to downtown Charleston and various sites.Rate reflects a seasonal discount. We camped at James Island County Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Quail Run RV Resort, Wesley Chapel, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. Front office personnel and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Excellent roads, all new concrete pads, and when we parked, the unit was perfectly level. Woodall's had a five star rating, and this park deserves. Good mixture of permanent, seasonal and in transit spaces. Lots were roomy, and all the trailers were newer and in good condition. While there were some Holiday lights, it was by all means not junky. Definitely on my list to stay if through this area again. We camped at Quail Run RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
