Adventure Bound Camping Resort Gatlinuburg, Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Have used this campground many times over the last 15 years. I have always found it to be clean and fairly well kept. Its location is in a wooded area or country environment which we like as opposed to camping in the middle of downtown. The park has a lot of things to do for the younger camper. They have fire rings at the sites which is a big reason we stay there. The people working there are mostly helpful and friendly but I have run into a few attitudes over the years. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resort Gatlinuburg in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Like many others we like the leaf change that time of year. If the Tennessee side of the mountains haven't changed very much it's only a hour down I-40 to the the Maggie Valley or Cherokee area on the North Carolina side where the leaves seem to change a week or two before the Tennessee side. Don't miss having dinner and shopping at the Apple Barn in Sevierville.

Sherling Lake Park, Greenville, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here many times overnight while traveling and we have spent a week here three different times. Never have we had a bad experience. The park is one of the best kept places we have been to. The staff are some of the nicest people you would ever want to deal with. The park is a city park owner by Grenville AL. It is well taken care of and maintained. All the utilities work fine and cell phone service is excellent. They don’t have cable TV but you can pick up 8 - 10 stations on an antenna. I will defiantly stay here again. We camped at Sherling Lake Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is really a nice park. Access was easy to get in and out. Sites were level and longer than normal. They were a little narrow with about 12 feet between sites. The park was clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All utilities worked fine and the cable TV was great. We camped at Riverside Campground & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Harmony RV Park, Townsend, Georgia

Date of Stay: November, 2011 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

All the employees and owners were really nice and helpful. Some sites are close together and some were spacious. Overall the park is well maintained. Some expansion going on while there. The owners let everybody know about it and had to turn the water off to make new hook ups. The water was only off about 30 minutes. Propane was available at the campground also. Great place for a little R & R and fishing in the lake. We camped at Lake Harmony RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Hardridge Creek COE, Abbeville, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

The roads in the park and ramps to sites are asphalt and free of pot holes. The site itself was concrete and level. All sites have new 30/50 amp power, water. 18 sites have sewer hook ups. Park is large and has very large trees to park under. Like all COE parks this one is super clean. Bathrooms (two) have showers and laundry room, all clean. Park is on a large Lake (Walter F. George). Sat. TV will only work on some sites due to the big shade trees. There are grills and fire rings at all sites. Best place I have been in a long time for fishing and R&R. Staff was very nice at check in. Two large dump stations on the way out. Rate was on the America The Beautiful senior pass card. We camped at Hardridge Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Frank Jackson State Park, Opp, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2010 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the few State Parks that have full hookup with both cable and wireless internet. Most of the lower sites are gravel sites and are lake front. They include picnic table and fire rings. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Excellent opportunity for boating, fishing and hiking. Reservations are accepted and are recommended since the park is usually full on weekends. The park has a locked security gate at night. It’s an easy 5 minute drive to Opp. We will definitely go back to this park. We camped at Frank Jackson State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
