This park is a surprise to see when you pass through the white fence. It is clean, the staff is very helpful and the Wi-Fi is great. They have group activities, pool, are very convenient to Disney and the many other activities around Orlando. We definitely had a nice time there. Their fees are reasonable and the folks staying there for longer terms are nice. Ignore the bad review, this park is under new management and they have made many improvements.

This is a small county park hosted by one very helpful man. Many of the sites are along the tree line at the back of the park. The roads & sites are packed dirt The water, electric and Wi-Fi worked fine. It Is quiet and has lots of trees. The beautiful St. Mark's Preserve is directly across the road, a great place to bike, hike & paddle. This park is not fancy but certainly serviceable and convenient.

I requested an available site that I liked but they said our rig would not fit. Attendant was very talkative. Instead we were crammed between two big rigs in a tiny site while the site I requested was much larger and sat empty. Picnic table was down an embankment, inconvenient. The internet was hopeless and the staff and owners blamed us and our new computers. We were subjected to being belittled. We only could get connected by sitting next to the building freezing on a cold windy day. They need better internet service. Not a pleasant experience.

This campground is easy to get into, level sites, good WIFI and a bonus of the bus that will take you to town. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. We enjoyed our week at this campground. We appreciated the quiet evenings.

It was a surprise to see such an attractive well kept entry. Very inviting. The reservation ladies were very helpful and made checking in easy. This is a wonderful clean park with secure entry. The entire area is grass and the sites are large, level and many have trees for shade. We were pleased to see how much room there is between sites. The landscape staff was busy trimming and mowing when we arrived. Every area is kept very nice. I am not fond of private parks but this one really is nice.

This campground has one thing going for it. Location. It is the only campground within Rockport, Gloucester area. They know it and I feel take advantage. 1st: the HILL, we missed the sign and took our rig up the very steep hill unsure we would ever get it down. We did manage but it was not easy. 2nd: The sites have large rocks along the road and in the sites to maneuver around. It is not well maintained. The lower section at the front of the campground is not inviting. 3rd: The bath house is adequate, clean with newer floor and compartments. The walls are old cement block. 4th: There is no way we would be able to maneuver our rig to get into their dump area. The prices are high for the sites especially considering no sewer. NO discounts, ever.

This is mainly a permanent residence park. There are good sites on the 1st two rows of the lake with views. There were lots of people on golf cars and kids out late at night. People wandering through our campsite too. Site was grass and pretty level.

The park sites are gravel and heavily wooded. There is a water feature for kids to play in. There had been heavy rains and water in the office but it has been remodelled. The road is in need of grading, very bad holes and must travel very slowly to prevent damage to the rig. I was surprised at the amount of trash in the site. This is unusual for SC state parks. I do not know who is responsible for cleaning the sites but they certainly are not doing their job and the sites do need cleanup. We picked up the debris in our site and put it all in the fire pit. This should be brought to the attention of the park administrators as it leaves a bad impression. I also think the entrance to the camping area needs attention. The entrance to the park is beautiful but when you get to the campground it is another story. It does not look good at all.

At first sight, it looks very crowded with permanent trailers. There is an area for overnighters. A pretty lake at the bottom of the park, with a pavilion and picnic tables. However, not much maintenance. There were tons of cigarette butts around the bath house and bits of paper and some butts everywhere. Additional overnight sites have been added. They have also added more permanent sites to keep up with the demand. They do not rake or clean up sites regularly, apparently not enough help. Because of the lake, this park could be really nice with regular maintenance.

We have stayed here twice while traveling. It is very convenient and sites are fine. We were in site 7 both times. Many permanent worker trailers but their areas are clean. BA is nice and clean. New cable service throughout is good, don't need a box anymore. Internet is good. It is a pretty long sandy drive and sites are sand. That would be my only concern. Lots of sand.

This is a park that was a private park and the state of Florida purchased the park. It has concrete drives and little street lights, along w picnic tables. There is no cable/wifi except at the front of the park.

I have mixed feelings about this campground. It is in the middle of the forest yet there was lots of traffic coming through the area to drive the circle around the campground. Our site was smallish but adequate. The site had not been blown off and so there was lots of leaves and tree debris, looked unkept. The worst part to us was the cement logs and barriers along the road, the sides of the sites and the back of the sites. I think this deters from the ambiance of the park as well as making it difficult to park into some sites. It has no services so we brought our own water tank full, empty gray and black tanks and a generator. We also came w a full refrigerator and freezer as a large grocery is not convenient. The circle road is only closed to traffic on Wed/Sat early mornings. I think it should be closed more for bike traffic, suggest Sun. There were a great many bikers when we were there, along w many walkers. The Visitors center is half way around and does not have any drinks so make sure you have your own with you. With all the stops we made, seeing historic cabins and other sites, it took us about 3 hours to do the loop, getting off just as auto traffic was approaching. More info in tips...

This park is secluded, yet convenient to Asheville, Hendersonville, and more. The sites are clean, wooded and paved. It is nice and quiet, We thoroughly enjoyed being away yet near all the amenities of Asheville. This facility does not have wifi and is not easily connected to the outside world.
