Rippling Waters Church Of God Campground, Romance, West Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this campground several times. All the other times we had good sites. This time our site was not the most desirable because it was shorter than our trailer/truck, though we did not end up unhitching. We did stick out a bit but we were not on a busy road. All services were fine except Internet as it was too far from the main line. The chapel is really charming next to the pond. We camped at Rippling Waters Church Of God Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The road does have turns but it is not a problem as it does have two lanes and it is a beautiful drive back to the campground. Certainly not anywhere near as bad as many other roads in the area.

Colonial Campground, Coshocton, Ohio

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Staff is very welcoming, cheerful and helpful. Sites are very adequate, long, level gravel, quiet, nice picnic tables, large pool, clean BA's & laundry. Nice picnic shelters. Would be nice to have shade in the heat of the summer, however, this campground has most everything else we needed. It is a nice clean campground. Well done and apparently well maintained. We highly recommend and will visit again. We camped at Colonial Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tom Johnson Camping Racing Resort , Concord, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The staff was very cheerful and helpful. This is a huge park, mostly flat barren space with full service sites. It was convenient for us though trees would be a plus in the summer heat. We camped at Tom Johnson Camping Racing Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Endless Caverns Resort, New Market, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This campground has a nice entry, good help, is hilly and has good gravel roads. The sites are large and ours was near the beginning, on a lower hill. The sites are on a wide road as the road heads up the hill. We had very good Wi-Fi at our full service site. The cavern tour is very good and a must see ! We camped at Endless Caverns Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The town and local area has many Confederate museums and battle grounds. There are also many caverns to visit though we were told by others that this one is the most realistic and best to visit. We did not visit others but this Cavern tour was very good.

Kissimmee RV Park (formerly Orange Grove Campground and RV Park), Kissimmee, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a surprise to see when you pass through the white fence. It is clean, the staff is very helpful and the Wi-Fi is great. They have group activities, pool, are very convenient to Disney and the many other activities around Orlando. We definitely had a nice time there. Their fees are reasonable and the folks staying there for longer terms are nice. Ignore the bad review, this park is under new management and they have made many improvements. We camped at Kissimmee RV Park (formerly Orange Grove Campground and RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Newport Campground, Crawfordville, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small county park hosted by one very helpful man. Many of the sites are along the tree line at the back of the park. The roads & sites are packed dirt The water, electric and Wi-Fi worked fine. It Is quiet and has lots of trees. The beautiful St. Mark's Preserve is directly across the road, a great place to bike, hike & paddle. This park is not fancy but certainly serviceable and convenient. We camped at Newport Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Sunset Point RV Trailer Park, Lubec, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I requested an available site that I liked but they said our rig would not fit. Attendant was very talkative. Instead we were crammed between two big rigs in a tiny site while the site I requested was much larger and sat empty.

Picnic table was down an embankment, inconvenient.

The internet was hopeless and the staff and owners blamed us and our new computers. We were subjected to being belittled. We only could get connected by sitting next to the building freezing on a cold windy day. They need better internet service. Not a pleasant experience. We camped at Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in a Travel Trailer.

*Go to the end of the road and enjoy the rocky water area.

*Sign up for the bike ride and Acadia info w the ranger. It was really nice though be prepared for some long hills. Spend lots of time seeing all of Acadia.

*Eat lobster from across the street at Rose .... they will cook them for you and include corn and butter for two. We recommend the 1 1/2 lb lobsters.

*See SW Harbor, Azalea Garden, beach w the smooth stones.

Seaport RV Resort, Old Mystic, Connecticut

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

It was a surprise to see such an attractive well kept entry. Very inviting. The reservation ladies were very helpful and made checking in easy. This is a wonderful clean park with secure entry. The entire area is grass and the sites are large, level and many have trees for shade. We were pleased to see how much room there is between sites. The landscape staff was busy trimming and mowing when we arrived. Every area is kept very nice. I am not fond of private parks but this one really is nice. We camped at Seaport RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Cape Ann Camp Site, Gloucester, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This campground has one thing going for it. Location. It is the only campground within Rockport, Gloucester area. They know it and I feel take advantage. 1st: the HILL, we missed the sign and took our rig up the very steep hill unsure we would ever get it down. We did manage but it was not easy. 2nd: The sites have large rocks along the road and in the sites to maneuver around. It is not well maintained. The lower section at the front of the campground is not inviting. 3rd: The bath house is adequate, clean with newer floor and compartments. The walls are old cement block.

4th: There is no way we would be able to maneuver our rig to get into their dump area.

The prices are high for the sites especially considering no sewer. NO discounts, ever. We camped at Cape Ann Camp Site in a Travel Trailer.

Rocks Pond Campground & Marina, Eutawville, South Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is mainly a permanent residence park. There are good sites on the 1st two rows of the lake with views. There were lots of people on golf cars and kids out late at night. People wandering through our campsite too. Site was grass and pretty level. We camped at Rocks Pond Campground & Marina in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is only one small town about 7 miles away with a small grocery so bring all your food needs with you. This is a destination far from I-95. There is an uncooled building that is available for groups to use. They have music on Sat night sometimes in the summer.

Lots of residents have boats and many of the transient travelers bring boats. We did see some people had caught fish.

The road is terrible, tons of potholes that are unavoidable on a narrow road. Travel slowly.

Sesquicentennial State Park, Columbia, South Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

The park sites are gravel and heavily wooded. There is a water feature for kids to play in. There had been heavy rains and water in the office but it has been remodelled. The road is in need of grading, very bad holes and must travel very slowly to prevent damage to the rig. I was surprised at the amount of trash in the site. This is unusual for SC state parks. I do not know who is responsible for cleaning the sites but they certainly are not doing their job and the sites do need cleanup. We picked up the debris in our site and put it all in the fire pit. This should be brought to the attention of the park administrators as it leaves a bad impression. I also think the entrance to the camping area needs attention. The entrance to the park is beautiful but when you get to the campground it is another story. It does not look good at all. We camped at Sesquicentennial State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Picture Lake Campground, Petersburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

At first sight, it looks very crowded with permanent trailers. There is an area for overnighters. A pretty lake at the bottom of the park, with a pavilion and picnic tables. However, not much maintenance. There were tons of cigarette butts around the bath house and bits of paper and some butts everywhere. Additional overnight sites have been added. They have also added more permanent sites to keep up with the demand. They do not rake or clean up sites regularly, apparently not enough help. Because of the lake, this park could be really nice with regular maintenance. We camped at Picture Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Lazy Acres Campground, Fayetteville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here twice while traveling. It is very convenient and sites are fine. We were in site 7 both times. Many permanent worker trailers but their areas are clean. BA is nice and clean. New cable service throughout is good, don't need a box anymore. Internet is good. It is a pretty long sandy drive and sites are sand. That would be my only concern. Lots of sand.
