This is mainly a permanent residence park. There are good sites on the 1st two rows of the lake with views. There were lots of people on golf cars and kids out late at night. People wandering through our campsite too. Site was grass and pretty level.

The park sites are gravel and heavily wooded. There is a water feature for kids to play in. There had been heavy rains and water in the office but it has been remodelled. The road is in need of grading, very bad holes and must travel very slowly to prevent damage to the rig. I was surprised at the amount of trash in the site. This is unusual for SC state parks. I do not know who is responsible for cleaning the sites but they certainly are not doing their job and the sites do need cleanup. We picked up the debris in our site and put it all in the fire pit. This should be brought to the attention of the park administrators as it leaves a bad impression. I also think the entrance to the camping area needs attention. The entrance to the park is beautiful but when you get to the campground it is another story. It does not look good at all.

At first sight, it looks very crowded with permanent trailers. There is an area for overnighters. A pretty lake at the bottom of the park, with a pavilion and picnic tables. However, not much maintenance. There were tons of cigarette butts around the bath house and bits of paper and some butts everywhere. Additional overnight sites have been added. They have also added more permanent sites to keep up with the demand. They do not rake or clean up sites regularly, apparently not enough help. Because of the lake, this park could be really nice with regular maintenance.

We have stayed here twice while traveling. It is very convenient and sites are fine. We were in site 7 both times. Many permanent worker trailers but their areas are clean. BA is nice and clean. New cable service throughout is good, don't need a box anymore. Internet is good. It is a pretty long sandy drive and sites are sand. That would be my only concern. Lots of sand.

This is a park that was a private park and the state of Florida purchased the park. It has concrete drives and little street lights, along w picnic tables. There is no cable/wifi except at the front of the park.

Great park, sites are very wooded, quiet, short walk to the beach. Convenient to St. Augustine.

Huntington is a nice quiet wooded park w large sites.

I have mixed feelings about this campground. It is in the middle of the forest yet there was lots of traffic coming through the area to drive the circle around the campground. Our site was smallish but adequate. The site had not been blown off and so there was lots of leaves and tree debris, looked unkept. The worst part to us was the cement logs and barriers along the road, the sides of the sites and the back of the sites. I think this deters from the ambiance of the park as well as making it difficult to park into some sites. It has no services so we brought our own water tank full, empty gray and black tanks and a generator. We also came w a full refrigerator and freezer as a large grocery is not convenient. The circle road is only closed to traffic on Wed/Sat early mornings. I think it should be closed more for bike traffic, suggest Sun. There were a great many bikers when we were there, along w many walkers. The Visitors center is half way around and does not have any drinks so make sure you have your own with you. With all the stops we made, seeing historic cabins and other sites, it took us about 3 hours to do the loop, getting off just as auto traffic was approaching. More info in tips...

This park is secluded, yet convenient to Asheville, Hendersonville, and more. The sites are clean, wooded and paved. It is nice and quiet, We thoroughly enjoyed being away yet near all the amenities of Asheville. This facility does not have wifi and is not easily connected to the outside world.

There are two campgrounds, one in the woods and one at the beach. For us it is all about the beach, however, we do enjoy staying with friends at the woods campground. Many have ample shading and we always have a great time here. The bad is the beach campground road. Terrible. Needs packed gravel not more dirt.

This is a beautiful state park on the Atlantic Ocean. There are lots of large shaded sites and a wonderful light house to visit. Walking the beach is our favorite past time.

Since we are used to having space around us it was a surprise to have a camper behind us and close to both sides of our unit. The men sat outside our windows w/o shirts, tiny bikini trunks and I will just say they were "portly". Our large rear windows viewed the other campsites so we had to keep the shades closed for a bit of privacy. We were told the other campers were from Europe and they do not dress as conservative as we Americans. Campfires were close and smoky. We did not eat or sit outside because of lack of privacy and dust. The road is very dusty and so cars would leave a cloud of dust as they passed our rig. We were covered with dust inside the rig and out when we left. The advantage of this park was location! It is the only campground on Jekyll so there is no other option. Right outside the gate the trail starts and runs around the entire island making it great for biking/hiking. This trail is smooth, wide and well kept. You can get to the beach, the historic area, the few retail businesses and pretty much everywhere. We paid more because it was a holiday weekend and paid an access to the island fee.

Quiet, clean, and level sites in the full service area. Certainly well maintained area by new helpful personable managers who have taken over recently. Bathhouse is old but maintained. Many full time sites but we were not near parked them. Convenient to I-77 and we would stay there again.

I would rate this higher if it had water available at the sites. The water is from a central location on the loops. You have to drive over to it to fill your tank. Many sites are Very uneven, we had to find one level enough to use still using several boards to level the rig. The park is very clean, popular. Many boats around. This is a COE park. They have several campgrounds within the park and Gun Creek is just one of them. This is a grassy and wooded park, very pretty. We rode our bikes to the craft shop which had nice quality arts. We would stay again.

This is a very clean quiet and beautiful campground right in town. Well manicured grounds, nice covered deck for viewing the river, extremely clean bathhouse w very large private shower stalls. All sites are large, paved, nicely wooded, with picnic tables and fire pits. A wonderful campground with a very personable staff. We will be back.
