Umpqua's Last Resort Campground & RV Park, Idleyld Park, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful campground located in the middle of the Umpqua Forest. Located across the road from the Umpqua river. Many places within a few miles to hike to see waterfalls and see the river. Very quiet, gravel RV spots. Also offer tent sites. Clean bathrooms with wonderful hot showers. Very helpful staff. Good Wi-Fi, but no cell phone service. We stayed for a week and would have loved to stay longer. Will definitely be back!
Be aware that the closest gas is about 20 miles away, so make sure to fill your tank in town before heading out. We camped at Umpqua's Last Resort Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Butte Valley RV Park, Dorris, California

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access off Hwy 97, but it is right next to train tracks. Train seems to come through every 1-2 hours and blows the horn. Facility was clean, but very old. Nice large area to walk dogs. Level dirt space for trailer, so I would not want to camp during the winter since it would be quite muddy. Good stop for overnight stay. Cash only, no discounts accepted. We camped at Butte Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Collier Memorial State Park, Chiloquin, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here one night on our way up to northern Oregon. Was very pleasantly surprised how nice this park is. They have many shady spots and our site was a pull-thru that was perfectly level. All sites were very clean and surrounded by many trees. This park would be wonderful for a longer, family trip with the kids. We stayed here again on our way home and found a second site that was very easy to back into and was perfectly level. Bathrooms were very clean and there were plenty of shower stalls. We camped at Collier Memorial State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Elk Haven, Idleyld Park, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Level, gravel sites with easy access. Long term residents are in outside lots on each end of park. New log cabin bathroom with nice showers and laundry facility. Quiet park with very little road noise from Umpqua Hwy. Right along the river so this is a nice place to stay if you want to hike around the river or fish. Park is filled with domestic rabbits that are everywhere. If you have dogs, it will drive them crazy. Park also has about 30 geese that poop all over the grass, so we ended up with goose poop all over our shoes and trailer floor. Two horses are fenced in various areas, so if you have kids and want to stay at a "petting zoo" this is the place for you. Wi-Fi is reasonable, but only works if you stand out near the office. We camped at Elk Haven in a Travel Trailer.

Easy access off I-5. Follow the signs to park. If you use address with your GPS you will end up down the road. Very level gravel sites. Easy pull-through. New ADA bathrooms, hot water, huge showers. Quick check-in. Nice dog run. Surrounded by open field. Quiet park with long-term RVers at the back. We camped at Yreka RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

JGW RV Park, Redding, California

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Very fast, efficient check-in. Easy access off I-5 and nice pull-through RV spots. We were looking for a spot to stop overnight and this was perfect. Level spots, clean restrooms and nice river and dog area to walk the dogs. Could be a nice place to stay for more than one day if you pay for the spots that back up to the river. Some noise from I-5, but not enough to keep us awake at night. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Cattail Cove State Park, Lake Havasu City, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park, great hiking all around the park. Most spots are shaded by nice mature trees. All trees are labeled with type so it adds interest to camp sites. Has nice fish cleaning station and clean well maintained bathrooms. Great for dogs. Miles of easy hiking trails and an area where the dogs can play in the lake. Only complaint is that they close both bathrooms from 6-8am for cleaning. They should only close one at a time, and 6-8am is when most people wake up and would like to use the restroom. We camped at Cattail Cove State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Sully's RV Park, Alturas, California

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy access with pull through spots. Only have 6 sites for overnight RV'ers and are perfect for a quick overnight stop, but a little too close to each other for a longer term stay. Good places to exercise dog along gravel road. Located right next to the Wildlife Refuge so you can take a walk and see deer and Sandhill Cranes. We camped at Sully's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Clyde Holliday State Recreation Site, Mt Vernon, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access off main road and right next to a beautiful stream. No Wi-Fi, but cell phone reception was reasonable for checking E-mail on cell phone. Very clean campground with well maintained bathrooms and showers. Three showers available and we never had an issue with them being full. Campground is first come first served, so arrive early in day for best chance of getting a spot. When we arrived at 1pm they were about half full, but by 6pm there were only a few small spots left. Very friendly staff and camp host was friendly and helpful. We camped at Clyde Holliday State Recreation Site in a Travel Trailer.

Phillips RV Park, Evanston, Wyoming

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Clean restrooms with plenty of hot water. High water pressure, but due to cold temperatures, the water was shut off at RV sites. We just filled the holding tank before parking so it was not an issue. Great Wi-Fi coverage. Friendly staff. Very nice park with lots of trees. We camped at Phillips RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

KC RV Park, Kaycee, Wyoming

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here in a 23' travel trailer during a hunting trip. Easy access to all roads in and out of town. Owners are very friendly and helpful. They do not have restrooms or showers, but if you want to take a shower they own the another park and you can use that facility. They have a wonderful garage in the back that you can use to process your meat and even let you use their freezer to store the meat. Perfect spot for hunters! Power went off in Kaycee while we were there and they offered to let us stay in their house to keep warm! Only down side is the Wi-Fi does not have good coverage, but cell phone (T-mobile) was excellent, so we just used that instead. We camped at KC RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
